Okay a bit more of a simple list than my usual ones, but I thought it might be useful.

Its simply a list of print n play games sorted by the number of people who have logged a play of it, ever. Total plays is used to break ties. And rating is used to break more ties.

Obviously this isn't the full story, but there are so many out there that its hard to get a grip on which are actually worth going for and ratings are usually unreliable with so few raters. Newer games will suffer and so will those played a lot by people that don't log their plays.

Some are free, some are not.

Feel free to add to the list with the #plays and #players (click on #plays and it will give you the numbered list) and I'll resort periodically. More info like whether it is free or not would be great.

Updates: If a game's stats (plays/players) has changed significantly then feel free to post an update as a comment. I'll then re-sort it in the list.

Update: I updated the stats on the Top 10 or so. Some of them have significantly different (lower!) numbers. Maybe something has changed in the Games Played data?

Update: Next time I update this list I will delete everything with less than 5 players. This is to clean up the list (so it matches its name) and make it easier for me to update when new games come in and I have to edit the list to move them past all the dead wood.
Please don't add any new games with less than 5 players having logged plays.

Most of those will be from the OOP commercial version, but there are two complete redesigns of all the components of the game freely available from the Files section of the game's BGG page. This An excellent sci-fi pick'n'deliver game.

The 'distinct users' numbers on the link you have Jeremiah is the number of distinct users each month. So there will be duplicates.

e.g. if I log a play in April and another in May then I will appear in the distinct users list both months.
Ahh, well that explains it. Thanks! Is there an easier way to get to the distinct users number that you're using, I think that's a much more interesting number.

The number I was using, distinct players each month (of all time), seems like a nonsense number. I'm not even sure what that's really trying to measure.

Just noticed I didn't answer this.
I get the number of players by going to the game page and clicking on "Total Plays" and seeing how many users there are listed - if there are more than 1 page of them you have to click on the last page and see what number the last user listed is.
e.g. Zombie in my Pocket now is 591 on this page:

Technically, it's Dschunke: Das Legenspiel that's the free download. Rat Hot is the commercially-produced version, and I understand that along with a different scoring method, the symbol distribution on the tiles is different.

I'd also like to mention that this game is SUPER CHEAP to produce as well. For about $6 at Staples I was able to make 5 copies of the game with super thick lamination. Cutting out the bits was a pain but after it was finished, I had plenty of gift sets of a game that I truly love.

Plus using the Carthiginian versions of the game it's quite sexy.

The thick laminate basically makes these very tile-like. Just be cautious of the sharp edges at first

Most of the players and plays will be from the commercial version of the game, but a complete redesign of all the components was recently made available for free and many people have built their own copy (maybe around 20-30) See: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/257164

This is an excellent game well worth owning and the new art is really nice.

Despite having the description "rules in PDF" this is actually the print n' play board for the game: http://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/1278/flower-of-the-lotus-b...

Not too flashy, but you could color it in crayon like this guy - http://boardgamegeek.com/image/164528/china-moon - to give it a child-like aesthetic. I think it works.

Most updated rules can be found here: http://www.faidutti.com/index.php?Module=mesjeux&id=327&fich...

There are even variants to the game here: http://www.faidutti.com/index.php?Module=mesjeux&id=327&fich...

I hope that helps!

This is an excellent solitaire game I enjoy every time I play it... so far 4 plays, but all exciting (though not all ended in a win cool )

Reminds me of Star Smuggler, a solitaire game with very similar objectives (earn enough money to make payments on your spaceship), except that the action was paragraph based, and more varied. Otherwise, pretty similar in objective.

This is a game system, and the totals don't include the separate entries for games that can be played with it.

UPDATE: Adding together the separate games, 3693 games played in 2244 sessions by 231 distinct users.

I wrote a script to tally the numbers from all of the Decktet games. Presuming that it works the way it's supposed to, all the Decktet games together have 282 plays by 28 distinct players.

Update may28: I realized that the script was just counting the separate games in the Decktet family but leaving out plays logged for the Decktet itself. Counting those, it's 426 plays by 36 distinct players.

Mark my words, I will have more than 20 plays of this in the not too distant future. I've played three so far, and it's good. Right now it's a 7.5 for me, and it could easily be an 8.

It's accessible (played it with two non-gamers), fun, and well worth the short game time.

This one is a PnP game that people should be playing.

Thanks for the kind words Jeremiah!

Thanks for the game Sheamus! My wife and I enjoy this as a light filler and a nice change from Gin and other ordinary-deck games. I think it deserves a little more attention.

I was wondering if you had attempted to scale the game up at all. It seems like the concept would be fun for three or four, but I don't know if the number of jobs would need to increase to accommodate that many players. And of course, more jobs means re-balancing. If you have any ideas, I'd try them out for you on friends and family. Anyway... thanks again! thumbsup

Thanks for the kind words Michael.

I did originally intend this to be multiplayer.... but the power ramp up is just too strong. I could really only squeeze so many turns out. And if you spread those turns over more players... it's just not as fun.

I could maybe investigate some partnership rules. That would be pretty slick. Something about sharing powers or the like.

Hrm...

Yeah, not sure about this one in the list. Piecepack is a component collection that has a library of games, it is not a game onto itself.

So, 279 plays makes me wonder just what was played.

K.

I had a good think about this, but there is probably a good reason they have no plays, especially when some of them have been on this list (and others) for ages.
I've begun the purge.

Edit: Purge completed. I've updated all the scores of all games that previously had less than 5 players, but now had 5 or more. I've deleted any game that had less than 5 logged players.
I've also added the PnP Golden Geek winner and nominees.

I'll get around to re-sorting the list sometime soon.

Hey,
i know it would be a lot more Work, but could you instead move them to a list of "Print and Play Games that need Players" or such?
K.

I had a good think about this, but there is probably a good reason they have no plays, especially when some of them have been on this list (and others) for ages.
I've begun the purge.

BTW, I'm not sure if anyone has told you recently, but thank you for maintaining this list for us.
