MB Gamemaster Series. The Box is in rough shape from stacking, but otherwise solid. Haven't inventoried yet but looks pretty complete and in very good condition. However the rulebook is missing. Those darn missing rulebooks. $4.99 from my favorite local thrift store.
Anyone know how many games are in the MB Gamemaster series?

And this for $.99 cents. That's an awful lot of box for so little game.

Got Loot at the West Jordan DI yesterday for $0.50. At first it was incomplete but I found the missing cards at the other end of the isle.

Saw this across the room, and almost ran over to grab it.
My girlfriend had picked up a set before, but that was missing pieces and was in a horrible box.
This one had all 54 wooden pieces, box is in great shape, and was only missing four of the 30 bidding beans. $3.65 well spent. I'll combine it with my other set at some point, you can never have too many pieces!

Some games are perfect thrift store games.
What I mean -- there are some games that look interesting enough to own, but not interesting enough to actually, you know, buy.
Roundabout looks like one of those types of games. It's instantly recognizable as a backgammon knock-off; however, I love backgammon. I don't think I'd pull the trigger if I had to pay full price, but for $1.98, I was willing. Great bits. Great box. Great board. If the game sucks it will at least be cannibalized for prototypes.

Found the version pictured (at the left) for $1.48. This is the third copy of this I've found. I'll keep buying it because it's a great little game that can be set up on any kitchen table. One day when I have a whole room of kitchen tables, I'll be able to play three games at once.
At one time I also had this one:
but the paddles in that version were very cheap. Both of them broke (?).

Or maybe not so ingenious...
I was very pleased to see this sitting in the corner of the children's section at our local British Heart Foundation for £2.25, complete and looked as if it had been played only once or twice (probably an unwanted present from our TkMax £9.99 price blitz last Christmas)
However, walking home with my wife and carrying my booty with some of our weekly shopping, just as we met an acquaintence and started chatting the plastic bag containing a four-pack of beer gave way and out they dropped to the pavement...yikes...one of the cans got pierced and beer started shooting out everywhere! So what's a guy supposed to do? I drank it shot-gun style while my wife carried on chatting to our friend! While I thought I'd saved the day, when I got home I found some of the sprayed beer had gone into the booty bag and soaked the box
Oh well, it'll dry out

I was in Michigan and Ohio over the last few days, and between meetings I managed to make a few thrifting stops. The first was an antique mall, a really big one. I always enjoy wandering through big antique malls, just to look at the interesting stuff and rarely to buy. I picked up this game I'd never seen before for $3. The box is scuffed up, but decent. One scoring peg is broken. It's missing the rules. Otherwise it's in good shape for a game that involves mashing to win.

I was debating whether to add this week's list. You beat me by minutes, I had to delete mine.

And this is another reason I have to laugh when people call Portland the Thrifting Mecca. There are several Goodwills here where the toy aisle seems to serve as a drop-off day care center.
No, no, you're slightly mistaken. Some Goodwills operated as a "free store", where you're welcome to take something as long as you also drop something off. Clearly those children tired their parents out to the point where they figured they might as well trade 'em in for a nice end table or summer blouse.

Why didn't you use the Force?
"These are not the toys you are looking for... Go home and obey your mom; do some errands for her."
Yes, but tempted I was to use the Dark side and crushing their throats with the Force... Resist, I did!
EDIT: I'm tired, and for some reasons, it doesn't sound much of the joke I thought it would be. Sorry 'bout that.
