Want to know what components you get with a game? What to know what a game looks like? What to know how it works? Want to learn the basic rules and flow of play?

In these reviews, I take a pictorial approach, by taking photographs of key components and gameplay, and organizing them with accompanying text in order to teach you how to play a game, and showcase what it is all about, along with some analysis. These reviews might prove helpful in making an informed decision before purchasing a game, or perhaps to have your friends read ahead of a game session to help them get a basic sense of how to play the game beforehand. I appreciate the diversity of reviewer styles on BGG, but for a short defence of my own reviewing style, see my post here.

To see my most recent reviews, click here.

If you are a game designer or publisher and would like me to consider your game for review, feel free to send me an expression of interest by GeekMail. Generally speaking I am only willing to commit the time to writing a review for games that I am personally enthusiastic about and consider to be worthwhile recommending to other gamers, so please contact me directly to help determine whether your game would be a suitable candidate for one of my reviews.

mb Subscribe to this list if you wish to be notified whenever I post a new review.

This is another of my favourite series, with some classic fillers and lighter games that only take 30-45 minutes and are ideal for social gameplay with non-gamers. For a brief synopsis on all the games in the series, and my thoughts on their relative merits, see this list: The Gryphon Games bookshelf series: collect 'em all? Here are direct links to all the different reviews I've written about each game in the series:

Re-bought this game to get the upgraded components of the second edition. First time I've ever done something like that. I just know that I will push for it to be played more now. Excited to give it another go (package arrived only yesterday from Tanga!).

Is it possible to keep art discussion of games to the game's forum? Everyone that subscribes to Enders thread keeps getting messages that there are updates, which usually means new reviews. Plenty of art discussion threads in the gtr forum.

(I realize that ironically, this will generate another update, but hopefully this will be the last one?)

If you click the arrow next to the "Unsubscribe" text, you can turn notifications for comments on/off independently of new items.
(that being said, I do agree this isn't the place for this "discussion")

2011 was a great year for gaming for me personally, and over the past 12 months I was fortunate enough to play around 50 different new games, many of which were newer releases. To round off the year, I've compiled and posted my complete overview of the new games I was able to play in a geeklist, along with ratings and a brief synopsis of each game. You'll find it here:

mb Ender's 2011: An Overview of 50 Great New Games That You Should Know About

A big thank you to all those who read any of my reviews over the past year - I wouldn't be doing this if it wasn't for your support and interest. And my best wishes to everyone for 2012! - Ender

Is there a way to view this geeklist by the date which Ender adds the review (so recently added games would be at the bottom), rather than alphabetically? Love the reviews! (fyi: I do subscribe to the list, so get notices when something is added, but would like to be able to sort it as described above)

Thanks for the note Chris. Unfortunately you can't view the geeklist that way unless I change the setting for how it's ordered. However it is easy enough to view all my reviews in the order that they were posted, starting with the most recent one. The long way is to go to my Contributions tab, and then click on Reviews. Alternatively just use this direct link:

http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/browse/boardgame/0?usern...

You can also change the sort order to Hot to view them by the amount of thumbs received.
