In the wargaming hobby there are some conflicts that recieve a ton of attention and others that don't. Napoleon, WW II, WW I, American Civil War, American Revolution and even the 100 Years War get more than their share in attention from wargaming publishers. That's all well and good because those are extremely popular eras. That doesn't mean of course that that's all there is or that wargame companies are neglecting other areas, just that some areas get covered more than other.
The purpose of this list is to examine the games that cover the other conflicts. The wars and battles that don't get that much attention. The games I list on this list will not be the only ones for these conflicts but they will however be ones that come to mind for myself when thinking of them. Feel free to add other games to the list with the following guidelines.
* If there is already a game for example on the Mexican American War, don't add another separate item entry for another game on that conflict. Rather post a comment for the game representing the Mexican American War and tell us what the other game you feel are worthy of mention.
* No games from conflicts that have had a lot of coverage. If you can think of 5 or 6 games covering it off the top of your head that have been published in the last 15 years then it's been covered. So stay clear of WW II. WW I, American Civil War, Napoleon, American Revolution, 100 Years War, Feudal Japan, Ancient Rome/Carthage and things of that nature.
* Don't micro battle it. For example there really hasn't been many games covering naval convoys like the upcoming PQ-17, but that falls under the umbrella of WWII. Let's not do anything that falls under something much larger that's been done to death just because it's something that's a smaller part of it.

Since it got buried under another topic, The Dutch Revolt. Only two boardgames of which I'm aware cover the conflict. This one and The Dutch Revolt.

With the three kingdoms of China added above, I felt compelled to add this game about the final wars between the three kingdoms of Korea.

Flight of the seabirds, scattered like lost words, wheel to the storm and fly. Fare thee well now, let your life proceed by it's own design. Nothing to tell now, let the words be yours, I'm done with mine.
To seek the sacred river Alph, to walk the caves of ice, to break my fast on honey dew and drink the milk of paradise... I had heard the whispered tales of immortality, the deepest mystery from an ancient book I took a clue.

Not much out there on the Balkan Wars.
The only other one I found was: The First Balkan War.
From about 1870 thru the end of WWII the Balkans were almost always at war.

Don't miss this elegant, well researched game on a hitherto overlooked topic, the raider operations for the German Pacific Squadron and related ships in 1914. For once, supply (both securing a supply of coal and then its carefully husbanding to move, raid & fight) play a huge role, yet the rules for supply are easy and practical. This game shows a naval _campaign_, not a few battles between ships as is more commonly done. Both sides have to plan carefully and choose wisely with how to find & engage their respective enemy forces. Only 10 pages of rules, of which at least 2 are examples of play. The convoy / merchant system is clever, and the combat system is practical and gives enough realism without being too detailed to slow or stop the game.
I know that S&T #125's otherwise fine "The Far Seas" covered this somewhat, but here the focus is exclusively on the Pacific & Indian Oceans, with the South Atlantic & Falklands available as well.

Second Sino Japanese war 1937-1945.
Battle of Kunlun Pass Dec. 18 to 30, 1939. Part of the South Guangxi campaign 1939 to 1940.
The largest commitment(and the only time) of Chinese armor throughout the war.
Also one of the catalyst for the Pacific War 1941-1945(Japanese occupation of French Indochina and the start of major embargoes for Japan).

To my knowledge this is a unique game, the one and only operational level wargame of the age of sail.
(There were some naval rules attached to War and Peace, and Empires in Arms, but those games are well over 15 years old and from a naval point of view they were not really very satisfying.)
Of course there is a plethora of tactical battle games on this subject - Close Action, Flying Colors, Wooden Ships and Iron Men to name a few.
But there is nothing even remotely similar to Sea of Glory.

From the Polish point of view, these are definitely separate conflicts. Related, but separate. The Poles fought to settle their own borders, not for or against Bolshevism.
And this is a great geeklist!!

Agree; two separate conflicts....although one impacts the other. Also impossible to model a rus civ war game without including the Polish-Soviet war, but, if you are designing a two player game (Red & Whites), who to you model the Polish player since Poland would like both Red and White lose? And, then toss in Poland's war with West Ukraine....and Poland's conflicts with bordering Baltic states. We really need a decent multiplayer (Poland, Red, White, Ukraine, etc).
Great list!
