I have been reading the various threads/geeklists relating to Arts Cow Card Decks, and thought it may be handy to have a list of all the card sets that people have had done, with direct links to the albums they have made.

So if you have made a deck and would like to share the files with others, add it to the list.

PLEASE NOTE: Some items have been removed from this list as they violate the site policies against posting content which aids in making copies of published games without clear consent from the rights holders. Please do not post items that fall into this category.

It has been suggested that this list might be better in alphabetical order, to assist in finding games. So now it is.

If you want some good advice on how to successfully make a deck, visit this thread: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/395699

UPDATE: "There has been some confusion about how to create a link to read-to-buy cards, but I think with the help of Wulf Corbett and Grimwald, we've worked it out. To create an album of pre-edited cards with an 'add to cart option', the album creator should click the link in the Silverlight editor that says 'share with friends'. Then, on the next screen where you can email to a friend, you have to click the checkbox that says 'Allow add to cart'. That provides you with a working link that can be posted. I believe (though I'm not certain) that this does not allow you to go through the process of editing the album to combine decks, customize and such, so this method does subtract some utility." - As suggested by Nick L (nicodemus055)

The first level support has forwarded your query to the different departments.

Here are the replys:

PR departement: New = Better! No matter what, something new had to be released in order to keep the customers at bay!

Law departement: Is this guy questioning our motives? Sue him!

IT-Consulting: Round cards are a top-notch high-end technology that already everyone asks for, so we had to upgrade the systems in order to accommodate the needs of the users.

Laboratory: Ooooooooohhhhh ..... shiiiinnnyyyy .... you like?

Design departement: The round shape is more aestetically looking and pleases the eye better, so the upgrade to round cards was necessary. The new, round design resembles the bulls eyes you can find at submarines, too, so it helped adding to the theme.

Resource management: Well, ordering the creation of a new design allowed the deployment of otherwise unemployed workers.

Secretary: I'll ask the boss and will let you know his reply.

Customer service: Dear sir or madam, thank you for your interest in our newest product. We are sorry to hear that for you it didn't turn out to be what you expected. In order to proceed your query we still need the following information from you: Your name, your customer number and the purchase number. Please supply the information soon, so we can guarantee your satisfaction.

sorry .. I just was in the mood for a little bit of nonsense ..
but in all seriousness now: No, no particular reason at all .. I think, I'll go with the explanation of the "design department": It adds a bit to the theme. That's all about it

EDIT: There WAS apparently a deal. Just ordered your game, in a more "Prof" version that the black&white paper printouts I already made.

I did up a set of these, as well (I got impatient), and borrowed heavily from your layout of the cards. When I saw Daniel among the names, I knew where I wanted to get the images from, and started using Google Image Search for some Sandman graphics:

I really like the way they turned out, despite the blatant copyright violation I committed.

Shanghein is a two-player pirate game, so I've done a retheme using Lego Pirate of the Caribbean. Images are from the Lego PotC Brikipedia site, fine for non-commercial use.

The base game has 40 sailors in 8 colours (Suites)

and eight Trick cards

In addition 4 expansions have been done and made available to download and print, 3 of these consist of a pair of cards and 1 a single card. The latest is the Crazy Captain, that I went with Davy Jones

Combining all these gives you 55 cards. So I have done version for each in my retheme and uploaded to an artscow album:
http://www.artscow.com/ShareAlbum.aspx?Key=hagaxosg

this includes a card back

To get a full single 54 card deck you may want to omit the third expansion ExtraKart-3 (sh3-extra3) which is a single card placed to one side up for one player to use first - it makes sense to have this on a thicker card tile.

Finally if you haven't used artscow yet, please use http://www.artscow.com/?Ref=586939 to sign up (my referral link) as it gets me quarter of a credit towards a card deck.

Thanks Todd. Maybe someday I'll actually try that. The worst thing they can do is say "no." ...I suppose no response at all may be worse than that. ...Actually, they could take the idea, turn it into a huge success worth billions of dollars without responding. That may be worse. Then again, I'd still be in the same boat I am now either way.

Ok Todd, if this works, I'll have to remember that you are the one who suggested it. Maybe we can get free Lucky Charms for life or something. I'd probably just eat all the marshmallows and leave the cereal like my kids do.

Found the link: http://www.generalmills.com/en/ContactUs.aspx

I've ordered a set of my redesign of Slapshot (which you can read about here). And I thought I'd share the album in case anyone wanted to do the same.

The Artscow album I've uploaded has: 84 Player cards, 3 blank Player cards, 1 card back, and 1 cover art. It requires two 54-card decks to complete.

You will have to download the rest of the files (the rules, the gameboard, etc) from BGG at http://www.boardgamegeek.com/filepage/40498.

I printed up the board on a custom mousepad at artscow. I've printed the mousepads before and they turn out great. I had a free one coming but you can enter the coupon code for a mousepad for 5.88 shipped, MPD588 expires 12/31/2009. I used this image (the original version, click on it and select original size then right click and save image as) and zoomed out a bit to fit the border in lengthwise.

Edit: the mousepad code may not be valid until April 15, 2009

I just got in my Super Slapshot set, and it really is amazing-looking. Typical of Artscow, if you look closely you can see that the sizing of the background image is not consistent, but it's very minor and you can't tell at a glance (I made sure to zoom the image a little past the bleed zone just in case). I can't wait to try this out with my gaming group!

So here it is -- the first link to a deck of ROUND cards at ArtsCow!

I found out about this game recently, and got interested in developing some play aids for it. I ended up downloading the materials from the author's web site and putting together these round cards which represent all the planets and star systems (and even asteroid belts) in the game. Normally the planets in the game are constructed by putting together various planet-hemisphere cards -- one planet will be card A with card C, for example. I made round images for every planet in the game, as well as reproducing the original half-planet cards in round form. I also made new star system cards that you can put the planets with. There are enough cards to construct all 10 of the star systems, as well as an instruction card and a card with counters.

To use these, choose the "Custom Playing Cards 54 (Round)" product instead of the usual "Custom Playing Cards 54 designs" product. Other than that, the designer works pretty much the same. Remove the poker text, auto-fill these images into the deck, and duplicate the A through K cards twice if you want to be able to make a random planet with two of the same letter. That will come out to an even 54 cards (plus the back).

Anyway, it's been a fun design exercise. I hope some of the fans of this game get a kick out of it.

EDIT: Deleted link to the ArtsCow album at the request of the person currently distributing the game online. The license that allows for this doesn't allow for commercial distribution of the game art -- so now it's time for me to design my own planet cards. Here's what they looked like with the original game artwork:

This deck actually has the adventure cards for all the Starship Catan expansions. Since each adventure deck had different backs as well as having a sequence number on it, I made a generic back for all the cards. The differentiation is on the front. Since what you do with these is sort the cards by group first and then randomize within the group, I didn't think it was too bad to have you look at the fronts to tell the group, shuffle each group and then stack. You'll know where you are when you turn them over.

Also included are refugees for the second expansion. There are 56 refugee tokens in the expansion. I have six per card, so you fill up 10 cards. Also, there is a card for the Teldur planet for expansion 2.

Each of the expansions has its own back for the adventure cards. Since I'm a miser and didn't want different backs, I had to come up with a common back. What I did was to take the adventure cards from the original deck (since that didn't prejudice which expansion it was for) blotted out the sequence number since you don't really need it and used that for a back. It's not the only or even necessarily the best solution, but it seemed like it wasn't the worst either.

Steam Lords is a game of resource management for 2 ruthless players. To win you must use your resources wisely to construct 12 victory points worth of buildings along the Shale River which runs through the different quarters of the City of Iron.

Card decks have arrived from Artscow - The black border (especially on the bonds) is too "thick". We should have gone with a thinner one. Other than that extremely minor issue - they look awesome. Game On!

I don't think Artscow produces anything large enough for THIS map...perhaps one could split the files up and work it out accordingly on several pieces. You can always print it out on your own from the BGG files.

If this is a standard size TTR map then it should fit fine on a 20" X 30" canvas which you can get for $25 shipped. I've used this canvas to do the Auf Asche USA map and it looks great.

Yeah, I just ordered that Auf Achse map today. And I noticed that their canvasses now go up to 42"x72"! Not that I really want to shell out $150 for that, but $25 for the 20"x30" seemed doable.

188. Board Game: Ticket to Ride [Average Rating:7.49 Overall Rank:74]
Leon Hendee
United States
Atlanta
Georgia
mbmbmbmbmb
T2R Iberia

http://www.artscow.com/ShareAlbum.aspx?Key=yqgh5cuc

from Ea Tonnesen at http://www.pressefoto.dk/t2r/

The artscow album includes:
--50 destination tickets
--20 special tickets that can be stacked separately or mixed with the destinations. You'll need to print 2 artscow decks to include all the special tickets.
--2 pieces of board graphic. Each graphic can be printed on three 8 x 10 sheets (the artscow 8x10 collage), resulting in a board about 19.5 x 21.5 inches. Copy the same graphic to 3 sheets, and use the artscow tools to size and adjust the image appropriately. This might be slightly smaller than the design size, but it should be playable.

You can use USA or Europe rules and pieces. If you use USA rules, just ignore the ferries and tunnels.

The back of the cards is low quality, so hopefully someone can come up with a higher resolution image. If you do, please let me know!

The poor image quality is now resolved.

There are three images in the gallery named "Route Ticket Card Bac..." (I can't see the rest) and one image named "Card Back". The one with a size of 697*969 seems to be the closest in proportion to the rest of the cards, is that the back to use?

That's the one I used, but I'm waiting to see what it looks like. I played around with the aspect ratio a bit, but it all depends how much of a white border you want around the edge - the aspect ratio changes the more you zoom.

Any of the three card back images with height 969 should do fine.

Mine have arrived and I'm really happy with them. I had been worried about how the cards got cut around the edges. based on experiences others have had, but my sets came out exactly as I wanted them. I ignored the preview window.

I also had a 20x30 canvas print done of the UK map (a high quality image file is available for download on BGG) while there was a promotion on, and that arrived over the weekend. I'm really happy with this as well, and I now have the route cards and UK board ready to play. Really happy with how this has worked out.

Could you provide the links to your finished cards and map. Just go back into your history, open up your set and click the "share" button. I'd love to pickup this map and cards.

I wanted a retheme with clearer graphics - I seemed to spend too much time peering at the icons. So here is a re-theme based on the Godfather game with clear icon graphics. The Roman Numeral ranks from the back are now on the face as well as the number of each card required depending on number of players (2-5) represented by bullet holes.

The original is a 60 card game, or 65 single sided cards (if using the 54-deck on artscow) as the 5 Fool/Charlatan are double sided in the original. Opinion on BGG is that this game doesn't play well as a 5 player, and so you can fit an up to 4 players version in a single card deck (its 50 single sided cards). To this end the file names have the number of copies of that card required to fit in a single deck in their title. The remaining places could be used for player aides or something.

Here's a somewhat traditional playing card layout, extended to #0-20 in 6 suits. Images are in three albums: #1-9, 0 & 10-17, and 18-20:

For what it's worth, equivalent commercial decks usually have better stock for a comparable price, if you can find one.

Partly put off by the lack of a buy link (now corrected) and by the presence of blank cards, I decided to make my own deck using these images and rectify both problems. The blank cards are replaced by brief rule summaries:

You still get the double set of twelve colour cards and six of these rule sheets too.

I made these pretty quickly so you might want to move the images up or down a bit. Only the card back for the regular deck should need zooming, but you could probably do without it.

I ordered this during the last Artscow sale. The fronts of the cards a just about perfectly aligned. However, the back is not. It seems to be zoomed in too much as the bottom of half of the cards got cut off because it was too far into the bleed area. The game is still playable, but the cut off card backs are not attractive. I would recommend doing the following:

Click the link about to get the the deck.
Add the design to the shopping card.
In the shopping cart, click the "Adjust" link under the item picture.
The Playing Card Designer will load.
Scroll to the bottom of the card list to the last one labeled "Back".
Click on it and click the Zoom Out button 2-3 times.
Click the "Add to Cart" button and give it a new name.
Remove the other one from the cart, if necessary.
Continue checkout.

However, this might then result in some white at the top and bottom of the back. I'm not sure and can't guarantee that it won't happen. Maybe the card back image just needs to be adjusted or something since the proportions seem to be off (more wide than it should be?).

Well, I adjusted the size of the back image, uploaded it to Artscow, and switched out the back design for mine and adjusted the zoom. Hopefully this will work:

If it does, I'll post the link to my design with the corrected card back.

looks to me, if you compare the size of the circles, they did the same to you as to me and increased the size of the artwork

Yeah, something is definitely not right on their end. As you said, they offered a one-time credit to correct it, but I'm not holding my breathe. It's just really frustrating because what you get doesn't seem to ever match the design layout. I created a two-sided photo ornament and what I got was WAY off compared to the design. Actually, looking at it again, it appears that they did as you said - enlarged the artwork on one side. In addition, it too was not aligned top to bottom and to make it even worse, it was rotated slightly to one side. I know that this stuff is pretty cheap with a coupon and that I shouldn't expect much, but still, the final product should be at least 95%+ like the original design, right?!

in my case it seems as if someone decided "hmm he has a white border around his artwork, he must not know how to zoom the artwork up so i'll just do it for him" when i do know what i am doing and the white border on my cards is there for a reason (and in fact the white border is part of the 750px x 1050px artwork file).

and ... you've printed these cards correctly 20 times before, why suddenly have you decided to do this a different way? but only do it differently on 10 cards out of the 54

"Utopian Rummy" Playing Cards 54 Designs @ Artscow (Link)

This is a modified version of the other Utopian Rummy Artscow deck on this list. The differences are noted below:

1. Card back has been corrected so that it doesn't get cut off.
2. Card fronts have been zoomed in a bit to fill the card and eliminate the white space around the edges.

Please refer to the comparison images below.

THIS DECK (UtopianRummy_CG)

Other deck (UtopianRummy_AB)

I believe there is a limit to how many coupon orders they take in a given day. It said as much on my last promotion e-mail for a floor mat, 100 piece/day first come first serve. I imagine the card limit is higher but it looks like they reached it yesterday. The code worked for me this morning.

I thought I saw somewhere someone had made at artscow deck for Call of Cthulhu: the Card Game, featuring multiple different domain cards with great art. Would be a worthy entry if someone were to track it down.

Word of warning.

Be careful when ordering from Artscow during February. It can be that the wife, flicking through the online accounts quite innocently can spot an entry for "Artscow" and wonder, hmm, that's strange, Jim never buys anything from Artscow, whats that`? She doesnt know of course that you've shelled out for some custom Up Front decks. So when she logs on to Artscow and is assaulted by a swathe of valentines day gifts and other such tomfoolery, she IS going to wonder who the hell you've been secretly spending $100 on, so please, do keep an order receipt and a pack of custom printed cards handy.

If you are called Jim, or do plan to spend 100 dollars on valentines day skullduggery, I can recommend simply picking up some artscow printed card sets as a handy alibi. Shame on you though.

What kind of man gives his wife access to the online accounts? Next you'll be telling me she has her own chequing account and credit card! devil

She might say what kind of woman would let a member of BGG access to any online accounts!
