Another year in nomination/awards for best board games from around the world is upon us. The year is not over but the nominations (over 300 entries in so far!) for game of the year is pouring in - and some awards have already been handed out. I'll be updating the list until all awards of the year have been handed out so if you're interested in keeping track on which games get the accolades and which get to be bridesmaid.

Be sure to subscribe as I'll update as soon as prizes and nominations are revealed.

The list includes categories "Game of The Year"; "Adult/Expert Game of the Year", "Family Game of the Year" and the likes (it does not e.g. include best CCG, best RPG or best artwork), it considers awards given during the year 2009 even if the awards would de facto concern games released in 2008; or if the name of the award refers to next year (2010) or the previous year (2008).

You can see a list of awards won by Triviathon at http://www.triviathon.com/awards.asp.

But I think the biggest praise comes from the players themselves. I've love the game because it's a fast-paced trivia game that everone can play together and no one ends up feeling "dumb", especially me.
