About 2 months ago, I had a desire to set up and run a Play-By-Forum (PBF) game of Battlestar Galactica (BSG) here on the Geek. This was partly inspired by my own fun experience with a Pandemic PBF here and partly inspired by my like for the game that I don't play nearly enough.
Part of that vision was to show the game state after every players turn to help tell the story of what transpired. Those images would be collected in a geeklist, along with a short list of actions, for each turn. I spent some time in Photoshop getting the board as close as the real thing. I then spent even more time creating an Excel file that would support the data going into the graphic.
The first game launched at the end of March and finished in about 5 weeks. The success of that voyage (especially if you were a Cylon) prompted other games using my files. We now have 4 moderators running (or have ran) 6 games involving 38 different BGG members plus a host of commentary from a few loyal followers.
Instead of increasing the size of my links section on the game geeklist, I thought it more appropriate to gather all the games in a Meta List and track the progress here.

Spoiler (mouseover to reveal): The humans lost more than their Political center when Colonial One blew up. They also momentarily lost their will to continue. However, they pulled it together and managed to slug it out with both revealed Cylons. The turning point in the game was when a Legendary Discovery was made, gaining the 8th Distant. Now instead of an uphill battle to make 2 jumps with hardly any resources, it became almost a sure win as only one more jump was needed on the track to go for the win. But patience once again kicked in as a long series of cards surfaced with no jump icon. Finally the tide turned, and though surrounded and bloodied, the humans were able to jump for the win.
