Welcome everyone to the November Edition of the Geekgold for Game Lottery. Thanks Blott for the amazing Idea and thanks everyone who took part last time.

These are the Rules

What this is all about?
This is a way to get rid of that game or game accessory you don't want anymore and make a some geekgold with it. There are few items that you can and some you can't put for lottery. If you are not sure that a given item is allowed, please contact me prior to listing it.
This list is about the PRIMARY item on a lottery, you can put anything you want as sweetener or as a second prize, but the main prize must be withing the rules.

Allowed items
Games
RPG Items
Game related things (player mats, RPG novels, etc)

Prohibited Items
Geekgold
Completely outside stuff (like novel books, unless game or RPG related)

How to bid for an item?
If you see an item on this geeklist that you're interested in owning:
1. It couldn't be more simple. Just tip that entry 1 and you are entered to win that game.
2. Check the description to see if you are allowed more than one entry on the item.

How to put an item on the lottery?
If you have a game that you're willing to part with for a little geekgold:
1. Post it as an item on the list.
2. Include a full description of the edition that you have and its condition. Be very clear on conditions, marks and box
3. Specify if you will be limited in shipping options. If you ship internationally, if the shipping is on you, and if so how much.
4. Specify when your item will close for entries.
5. You can post both RPG Items and Boardgames.
6. The item must be draw before 30th of November 2009

What to do when the lottery ends?
1. When closed, draw a random name from those that have tipped your entry. If you allowed multiple entries remember to take it in consideration.
2. Contact that person and arrange shipment of the game.
3. Send them the game.
4. Edit your geeklist item on this list with a note saying that "THIS ITEM IS CLOSED!" and to put the avatar of the winner, use the code [ username=name_of_winner] (without the space) for that.
5. When an item is closed I will move it to the bottom of the list. Please don't delete them

How to find the winner?
You can use any fair method you like, like putting the names on a hat and drawing it.

created an wonderful application that you can find here. It is very simple to use.
1. Got to the url by clicking here.
2. When you mouseover on the number of your item, you get a URL like this
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/46332/item/1043139#ite...
. Your item id is the number after item, in this case it would be 1043139
3. As for bonus, for now the system can only work with given 1 for a given number of . For example, every 5 gets you 1 bonus.
4. You can limit too the amount of a user will be able to use to enter the contest

At November 15th I put together a new tool that can handle any kind of bonus thrown, given me time to register it. The how-to can be found on this post. Feel free to use it at will.

Special notes
Special Note #1: If you are giving an item, there is no guarantee for number of entrants. You must be prepared to give away your game even if you only receive a single geekgold entry. Do not enter a game unless you are prepared for that outcome!!

Special Note #2: If for any reason you are forced to withdraw a game you offered, you must refund all geekgold tipped to your entry.

Winners and Drawn Items
Subscribe to the Subscription thread but please don't reply to it. I will keep a list with all the items, the winners and those not drawn.

Great! I'll throw some bag in! I read a review that mentioned an interesting variant where you just separate all the card types and all draw from common decks. This will cut down on the logic killer decks as I understand. Basically turns it into a normal card game which is a really great idea.

LOTTERY CLOSED - SEE BELOW FOR WINNERS

This auction is for a set of Faction cards that were printed by Artscow. I have two spare sets so thought I'd offer them up for a Geekgold auction. I did the art design for these cards so these were printed from my 300 dpi master files.

AUCTION ITEMS
Set of 8 Faction cards (includes both versions of Atreides & Fremen cards), 1 Turn Track, 1 Bene Gesserit Turn Selection Track, 1 extra card with card back on both sides.

I have two complete sets so will do two drawings.

CONDITION
New.

ENTRIES
1 GG = 1 entry
1 bonus entry for every 5 GG
Will use the random pick tool by Jeromie Rand.

SHIPPING
US only shipping will be included free. I can't offer international shipping. I'm sorry to exclude our international friends but the cost of shipping would be way more then just printing a set for yourself! I've included a link below to those that want to print their own set.

DEADLINE
November 15.

Here's the Artscow album link for those that want to print their own set.

I have picked the winners! Since Jeromie Rand's tool doesn't support multiple winners I put all the winners into an Excel spreadsheet, then used www.random.org to pick a number. After the first winner was picked I removed him and did the process again. That should be the most fair way to pick.

Congratulations to our winners!

Bundle contains:

Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay
Apocrypha Now
Apocrypha 2: Chart of Darkness
Realms of Sorcery

The two Apocrypha books have very minor corner bending, but otherwise all books are in excellent condition. They did nothing but sit on a shelf, as the 2nd edition rules came out before I actually played in a campaign. Since I'm not going to get any use out of them, I figured someone here might.

One per entry, no limit on the number of entries per person.

Shipping within the US is entirely on me. Outside the US I will cover shipping up to $20US (or half the total shipping cost, whichever is more); winner pays the difference, if any, using either PayPal or (at 1 per $1).

I will draw the winner some time on Thanksgiving Day (November 26) using jeromier's TOOL.

Yes!

Though I never get to play RPGs anymore, they were a significant part of my life at one point. But I still really enjoy reading RPG source books.

I've entered plenty of auctions in the last month or two, but have a pitiful amount of GG so I'd sort of written off winning anything. This gives me hope!

Waza won the lottery with a mere 4 gg entry, congrats!

Pick one of the following:

Jericho:
(English, opened but unplayed)

Geek Wars: Battle for the Con Deck 1: RPG Gamer
(English, good condition)

IGOR: The Mad Scientist's Lament:
(English, good condition)

Im Auftrag des Königs (King Arthur's Knights)
(German, but includes English rules, good condition)

When?
Drawing will take place at the end of the day, Nov. 30th.
All GG entered on the 30th will be included in the drawing.

How much to enter?
Multiple entries are welcome.
For each multiple of 4 GG tipped per entrant, I will award a bonus entry (so 4 GG = 5 entries, 8 GG = 10 entries, and so on).

How will I send it to you?
For each GG entry I will subtract $1 from shipping cost.
Shipping base price: $4.00
(bid of 1 = $3.00 shipping, bid of 2 = $2.00 shipping, etc.)

I think that depends on how much the winner bid. The way I read it, if the winner bids 4 or more, shipping is free.

There were 595 total entries. I drew 277 and 556. Bryant had entries 238 through 334, and Lance had entries 554 through 588. Congrats!

I'm surprised Gordon didn't win one of them - he had 38% of the entries, from 3 to 227.

THIS EXHIBIT IS CLOSED!!!

So I have owned a copy of Power Grid for I don't know how long but it never hit the table, and I just recently won another copy plus a ton of expansions in the Gaming Hoopla giveaway - yah, I know, I am a luck bastard, sorry - so I am offering up an in shrink copy of the number three game in the database for your geek gold.

However, a couple of wrinkles:

If this reaches 500 gg I will add another game to the pile, something random from my collection. If I get up to 1000, I will throw in another one. I will of course look at the winners collection to make sure I don't double them up on their collection.

Consider this an early Christmas Present from yours truly!

Enjoy - and happy bidding.

The rules:

Multiple Entries: Yup. As much as you want.

Bonuses: 1 for every 5 GG you enter

Shipping: Anywhere in the world is on me

Ends: November 30th

Condition: Still in its shrink wrap

Edit - I will of course use the tool for the win.

ALL HAIL TOOL!!

*EDIT* Ok we are over 500, so I will be throwing something extra in with the package.

*edit* over 1000 - how cool is that? 3 things going into this box, I will try and make it worth the winners while. I will look at your likes and dislikes and of course, not double you up on any of your games.

EDIT - I will be drawing the winner sometime after 9pm CDT.

Your winner...

Time to put up a new game!

I will be dropping around 100 or so into your Mare Nostrum auction soon enough.

You're a scholar and a gentleman. Bravo!

Seriously, I still have plenty of stuff to put up, I just haven't gotten around to it. I've been busy updating my collection and it almost grew by 100 games just from taking a new inventory and double checking to see if it was in my collection.

I'm thinking my older copy of Titan since I have the Valley Games version. Perhaps Shadows over Camelot w/Merlin's Company and Sir Bedivere. Who knows...

I've only been able to get Arkham to table twice in the time I've owned it. My group doesn't like longer games and I went nuts buying all of the expansions after our first play before finding out that they never want to play it. So I'll be putting up one of the expansions each month until they're gone.

Condition
The condition is opened but like new and never played.

Shipping
Shipping will be free anywhere in the world.

Entries
Enter as often as you'd like, every 5 will get you a bonus entry and every 10 will get you 3 bonus entries. This lottery will end on November 30th shortly before midnight E.S.T. The winner will be drawn using Sol's new application which can be found here http://www.castelodelego.org/sol/item.php . It is an incredible tool for those of us listing items here, It's much easier than using a spreadsheet and random.rog, plus it is easily verifiable for anyone who wants to check the results. Check it out!

edit 1: changed the drawing method from random.org to Sol's new lottery tool. Dammit Lance, now you have me calling it a tool too.

Okay, since we're sharing our boy-meets-future wife stories...

I met my future wife in Dec of 1999. I walked into a Kay Jewelers to look for a watch because my grandmother wanted to get me one for Christmas so she told me to go pick it out. So I of course went to talk to the attractive young sales girl at the watch counter. We talked for awhile and I found out she was in Grad school and was two years older than me. I was a junior in college at the time. I said I wanted to look around a bit at the other stores' watches... she gave me her sales card with her work number and a penciled-in "brunette with freckles" and a on the back- like I wouldn't remember.... she didn't think I'd come back. Hey, I got her number, right?...

So I went back the next night and she wasn't working. I bought the watch and made sure she got credit for the sale. I then told another salesperson there that I talked to her the other night. I asked her to give her my number and tell her to call me if she wants to.

She called the next night. We became friends, started dating, and got married a few years later.

I bought a watch, but met my future wife at the same time. We'll be celebrating 8 years next June and have a great 20-month old son.

I'm happy to report that traveling exhibition of ancient egyptian artifacts has arrived safely in our little corner of ye olde Arkham.

Soon we will recover from the horrors unleashed in Dunwich (from which the world was miserably destroyed last night, didn't anyone notice?). And the curators can safely open their exhibit. Maybe this weekend? I'm sure it will be a peaceful opening night gala, and nothing ungodly will be unleashed....

Congratulations Matt!
And thank you all for participating!

One set of Official Call of Cthulhu Dice, in perfect condition - still in an unopened blister pack.

This dice set is not pink (unfortunately) - the dice have a nice shade resembling something between a bleached bone and an old manuscript (I had been told that "beige" is the proper name of the colour), with the numbers as black as void. Actually, you can just check the picture below!

Shipping worldwide is free. Which means, that I choose the method with the most reasonable handling time to cost ratio, and I pay the cost. I will do my best to have the package delivered before Christmas (but international delivery times are a bit unpredictable, to say the least - so please take that into consideration).

One GG gets you one entry. Multiple entries allowed - every 5 GG tipped gives you a bonus entry.

This item will close on midnight November 29th, and then the winner will be chosen by rolling d100 (or a more appropriate d) against a table with the nicknames of all the entrants. If I get a lot of entries I might try out jeromier's tool - a lot of guys here recommend it...

Feel free to ask any questions!

Edit: I have been told that a picture is worth a thousand words, so I replaced the link.

Up for grabs is my thrifted copy of Quivive.

The box corners are in slightly fluffy condition, with occasional creasing throughout.

The components are 100% original and complete, although I painted one of the wooden discs red in an attempt to utilise the piece in another game.

BIDDING:

1 = 1 Entry. Every multiple of 5 grants a bonus entry (So 5 = 6, 10 = 12 and so on). No bag limit.

SHIPPING:

Free to anyone in U.K. Mainland. For the rest of Europe, shipping will be an extra 30 bag.
For worldwide shipping, an extra 60 bag (or 30 bag if you prefer surface mail).

CLOSING & DRAW:

I will close the item on November 30th, 23:00 UK Time (GMT+1) and draw 1 winner amongst the entries using http://bggtools.appspot.com/

I might be missing something in how the winner is picked. If the number of entries are listed alphabetically as shown, and the number "rolled" by the tool is the xth entry alphabetically then number 50 would be N/A. Gordon has the number 50 TIP alphabetically, not the number 50 ENTRY. Not trying to screw you here Gordon, just trying to make sure I understand how this tool works. I checked the results because I plan on using Sol's tool for my lotteries and wanted to see what a finished one looked like and what others would see when checking. Does the tool not arrange the entries alphabetically? That would explain my confusion.

The 50 is not the number the tool rolled, it is the ID of the roll to access it on the system. Right now I'm not saving which number was rolled, but you are right on how it works.

For those who understand PHP, this is how it works:

1. Compute all the extra entries.
2. in an array I have the users (keys) and total entries after bonus(value)
3. Create a new array with as many as entries items as each user has. Alphabetically
4. Call mt_rand
5. Return the chosen array item.

I only keep on the site the item returned (which gives me the username of the winner) and I assign it an ID, which is them shown to the user so he can share with everyone

Oh, and I lied, I used Sol's tool, not Jeromier's, because it's easier. And all the cool kids are doing it.

Congrats, MaddMatt! Looks like cornering the market worked this time. Let's hope it works for Nexus Ops...

Well, games I want just keep popping up, and I'm only getting like 5 gold a week for reviews, so I'm going to have to lottery something so I can enter more lotteries. This is a cruel, vicious cycle.

So I played Android twice. It's in good shape, with all the separate pieces bagged up in separate bags (and if you ever played Android, or just had to put it away, you know that's worth something right there). Plus the little clue tokens are in a cloth bag, so you can draw them blind.

Shipping: This sumbitch is heavy, but I want a lot of gold, so I'm shipping it free. Anywhere. I cringe inside when I think how much that's going to cost if someone wins it in Sweden, but what the heck.

Entries: Nothing fancy - 1 gold for 1 entry, 5 gets you an extra. Kind of the usual.

Closing Date: November 28th, at night sometime, so I can ship it Monday the 30th.

Draw Method: I'll use Jeromier's thing. I mean tool. I mean random tool.

I'll Geekmail you if you win and you can send me your address, then I'll mail it to you.

I have 10gg invested there too blush on account of my having never won anything. Ever. Until this week, now I have Race For The Galaxy and Android to thank these raffles for. Go me! Anyway, if I win your Android (unlikely with 10gg, but certainly possible), could you re-draw. You can keep the gg, unless of course you want some Zombies!!!

How the heck are you a Sox fan down in Nebraska anyway? If you had to choose between the rivalry, why not the team without the curse and 27 championships?

Born in Springfield, MA and spent time there and in Connecticut. Hell, my Dad still hasn't supported any team since the Brooklyn Dodgers moved. He can't stand the Yankees either and I dunno...that sentiment not only stuck, but festered as I indulged in the rivalry.

What curse? We've won (I believe) just as many in the last decade as the Spankees. Curse...hmmm...Oh! You mean Johnny Damon! Or perhaps Manny? We sent em both packing. Damon's a baby and Manny's a tool.

Due to popular demand, I'm putting a second factory sealed Netrunner starter set up for the GeekGold lottery!

Ever had a desire to play one of the greatest games ever designed? Now's your chance.

Netrunner was printed by Wizards of the Coast in 1996 and discontinued shortly thereafter, remaining out of print for thirteen years. Yet this game is still in the BGG 200. Why? It's, quite simply, a great game.

What Will I Get?
This auction is for a factory-sealed (never opened, never played) Netrunner starter set. The set contains two complete 60 card Netrunner decks, one for the Corporation side and one for the 'runner side, as well as full rules on how to play, in a nice little box. This is all you'll ever really need to play - with the starter decks alone, Netrunner is infinitely replayable.

Yes, factory sealed. Never tainted by human hands. Thirteen years out of print.

Where Will You Ship It?
I will ship it anywhere in the world that my local USPS branch will allow me to ship this item. International, whatever. If the United States Postal Service allows shipment into your country, I'll send it, no additional cost.

Entry Rules
One GG equals one entry. I'll use the awesome tool to determine the winner.

Contest Over! And The Winner Is...
waza! Congratulations!

This is strange, I'm having the width issue again but there I don't know what could be causing it. Only with the geeklist lotteries.

Also, should we have the word lottery in the title of this geeklist? Make it easier to spot down the line? Thanks for making the Nov edition.
