Centurion Geekus Maximus says: "Ah, our inaugural reviewing campaign! Pandemic was quite a challenge, as my men are more used to fighting flesh and blood enemies, rather than intangible plagues and pestilences. It is very hard to stab a germ. You miss a lot."

Centurion Geekus Maximus says: "We expected our invasion of Tsuro to go a lot more smoothly, but it was difficult to find a native guide to lead us through the maze of twisty passages, all alike. But don't worry - they've all recovered from their wounds by now."

Centurion Geekus Maximus says: "The Gaulish barbarians have always been a thorn in the side of the Roman Empire, so it was glorious to have the opportunity to march into Carcasum and wrest it from their control. All of Gaul is now conquered!"
(... All? Well, not entirely...)

Centurion Geekus Maximus says: "The BGG Imperial Reviewers Legion comes from a balmy Mediterranean climate, so travelling to Antarctic in order to review this game was quite a shock for us. Fortunately, the soldiers of Rome are prepared for anything! I brought two pairs of socks."

Centurion Geekus Maximus says: "Tentacles. Is that all these so-called Great Old Ones have? Pffft! We Romans are used to dealing with snake-haired gorgons, three-headed hell hounds, ravening sea serpents, fire-breathing chimeras... Great Old Ones are all in a day's work."

Centurion Geekus Maximus says: My apologies for the tardiness of this review. After the Arkham Horror incident, my men and I found ourselves temporarily lost in time and space. But true Roman officers are a hardy breed, and we eventually made it back to Rome just in time to inspect the plumbing.

Mya says: I apologize, but due to circumstances beyond my control (also known as a preponderance of work) I have been unable to finish this week's PLAYMOBIL® Legion review in a timely fashion. Centurion Geekus Maximus is furious with me, but I have promised him that the record of his latest campaign will be up in the next few days. As a token of my appreciation for your patience, here is a sneak peak at the upcoming episode:
(Sneak peek removed to improve load time - it's basically the first four panels of the review.)

Centurion Maximus says: We had a few problems with the natives, but uncouth savages of the sea are no match for the mighty Roman army and its allies!
Mya says: Hrrmmm... probably not my best "reviewing" work. I'm afraid I got a bit carried away with the setting.

Centurion Geekus Maximus says: "I don't know why all these foreign temples have undead monsters wandering about them. We wouldn't stand for that back in Rome, you know."
Mya says: Sorry this instalment was so late. I appreciate your patience.

Centurion Maximus says: When I was on campaign, if we wanted to dominate someone, we didn't use decks of cards. We whacked them around the head with a gladius! People are getting soft nowadays...
Mya says: Apologies first for the delay. There was this shiny new computer, and there was this self-destructing hard drive, and there was this horrible necessity to send shiny new computer back, and there were tears of frustration and pain, and there was also (be honest) a little laziness on my part. Also, apologies for there not being any sword-wielding monkeys this week. Dominion, unfortunately, does not lend itself very well to hysterical visuals. I'll try better next time.

Centurion Maximus says: What a fiasco. It turned out everyone in the entire village were possibly werewolves. We decided to save time and lynch all of them.
Mya says: Two reviews in one week, but I implore you not to get too used to it. I'm just taking advantage of a lovely three-day weekend.

Centurion Maximus says: Oh, thank Jupiter! My cuirass was beginning to rust after all those months. It's good to be back in action, albeit engaged in the petty task of apprehending common criminals.
Mya says: Sorry for the ghastly three-month delay. It takes me about a full working day to put together a review (longer if it's complicated and/or involves monkeys), and lately I haven't had the time or the brain capacity to work on anything. As ever, I voice my optimistic hope that that will change in the near future. Thanks for your patience... and your impatience, too.

Centurion Geekus Maximus says: We have returned! Hopefully our months of dedicated undercover work in The Resistance have paid off. Yes, I said "undercover work". That's what we've been doing. We certainly haven't been lazy or anything like that. What a ridiculous thought.

Centurion Geekus Maximus says: Greetings, loyal subscribers to this hitherto dormant Geeklist! It has been just over a year since our last review, a lamentable absence for which I have no good excuse. But we are back, with a banana! You know what they say... an army marches on its daily supply of potassium.

Centurion Geekus Maximus says: While we enjoyed playing Wits & Wagers, we are looking forward to the Roman edition, which will hopefully have less frivolous questions about American celebrities and more important questions, such as what is the regulation weight of a pilum or how many Gaulish chieftains did Julius Caesar defeat.
