Welcome everyone to the January 2010 Edition of the Geekgold for Game Lottery. Thanks Blott for the amazing Idea and thanks everyone who took part all these times.
These are the Rules
How to bid for an item? If you see an item on this geeklist that you're interested in owning: 1. It couldn't be more simple. Just tip that entry 1 and you are entered to win that game. 2. Check the description to see if you are allowed more than one entry on the item.
How to put an item on the lottery? If you have a game that you're willing to part with for a little geekgold: 1. Post it as an item on the list. 2. Include a full description of the edition that you have and its condition. Be very clear on conditions, marks and box 3. Specify if you will be limited in shipping options. If you ship internationally, if the shipping is on you, and if so how much. 4. Specify when your item will close for entries. 5. You can post both RPG Items and Boardgames. 6. The item must be draw before 31st of January 2010
What to do when the lottery ends? 1. When closed, draw a random name from those that have tipped your entry. If you allowed multiple entries remember to take it in consideration. 2. Contact that person and arrange shipment of the game. 3. Send them the game. 4. Edit your geeklist item on this list with a note saying that "THIS ITEM IS CLOSED!" and to put the avatar of the winner, use the code [ username=name_of_winner] (without the space) for that. 5. When an item is closed I will move it to the bottom of the list. Please don't delete them
How to find the winner? You can use any fair method you like, like putting the names on a hat and drawing it. But there are two favored methods.
1. First we have the Original Awesome Tool. Created by jeromier. It is very simple to use, but can only deal with one type of bonus (X bonus GG for each Y GG tipped) and limit the amount of tip.
2. Second we have the Copycat Awesome Tool created by yours truly. It can deal with any amount of items drawn on your listing, and any kind of bonus calculation that deals with the tip values only (and a few others). The rolls are trackable for anyone to see, and you can use it anytime to check how many tips and the winning percentage of everyone. It has a few statistics which I'm improving on. The only thing is that for an item to use it, it must be inserted by me, and that takes about 1 or 2 days, usually.
Special notes Special Note #1: If you are giving an item, there is no guarantee for number of entrants. You must be prepared to give away your game even if you only receive a single geekgold entry. Do not enter a game unless you are prepared for that outcome!!
Special Note #2: If for any reason you are forced to withdraw a game you offered, you must refund all geekgold tipped to your entry.
Winners and Drawn Items Subscribe to the Subscription thread. I update it (usually) daily, and there you can find a list of new items, and the winners list of all the lists we run so far.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
Okay, so to make up for screwing up the list, I'll be adding together some stuff for a cool pile throughout the month! This one will END ON Jan 31 and be a straight(er) 1GG=1 entry, with a bonus for every 5GG submitted.
Free shipping US, with free worldwide as soon as I can pile enough stuff in here to make it worth 100 GeekGold. I'll use Sol's tool, and add stuff in periodically to make it worth stopping by!
GRFOS is brand new, and a good icebreaker/party game with lots of jokes and great artwork.
I'm sorry folks! This listing "doubled" when I posted it (see #25, on page one). It received a tip, but I didn't see it at first, so I edited #25 to replace it with something else, and leave #26 intact because I had seen the reply to #26, but hadn't seen the actual GG tip on #25.
I put it all back correctly, and will substitute something here to fill the spot, as it were. I apologize for any confusion!

Cause I don't know if the Copycat tool will do it right I defaulted to my old method of drawing (randomized list + random.org draw).
The first winner (taking full GG tipped and Bonus entries into account) is...
Professor of Pain
United States St. Cloud Minnesota
And the second winner (one entry per remaining person max) is...
Peter
United States Carol Stream Illinois
See I told You
You'll Get Over It
Congratulations to the winners!
In my urge to get one of these DoW Christmas specials, I ordered Memoir stuff at multiple places. So I now have three Vercors Campaigns (english version)...
I guess some of you don't have this extra yet (perhaps because you already own all of Memoir and did not order something twice, just to get this), so I will put up two copies of the Vercors Campaign to be claimed by the lottery. That means two different people will get one copy each.
Condition: new
Entries: one entry per , one bonus entry per 5
Shipping: free worldwide!
Until: 30.1.2010, in the german evening.
Drawing: I will do something special this time, to give a better chance to all 1 bidders: I will do one normal draw with entries as described above under 'Entries', so you millionaires can tip me all your gold After this the winner will be deleted from the list and a second drawing is done with one entry per remaining bidder, regardless of the tipped! So in the second drawing all remaining bidders will have an equal chance to win the second copy.
I will use 'The Tool' if it can support this special drawing. Otherwise I will use randomized lists and random.org
Happy new year everyone!
Edit: End time was about one year in the past.
Edit 2: Added note about language of this extra.
Edit 3: Last day to enter!

Wulf Corbett
Scotland Shotts Lanarkshire
Up for lottery IN MY FIRST LOTTERY is a copy of the Avalon Hill 1975 Classic - Caesar's Legions. The game is used, punched, and appears complete according to the rulebook inventory.
Board is clean and tight, rulebook is clean and tight. Counters are clean and punched, but there is no way to inventory the counters as there is no OOB card in this game. The rest of the components look clean, but of course, 30+ years old there is some yellowing with age.
The box is dusty with age, and has a dent on the top side. For 30+ years old, I've seen way worse. All corners are intact.
Counters are in a bubble tray, sorted.
This item will draw on Jan 30th, at some point during the day. Entries are 1 ticket per . Multiple entries are allowed per contestant., i.e.:
1 = 1 entry 2 = 2 entries 5 = 5 entries 10 = 10 entries ...etc., etc.
EDIT #3: FREE SHIPPING US! Shipping paid by me via Media Mail (a.k.a. Slow Boat To China) to Continental US only, and I will cover first $10 of International rate.
INTERNATIONAL WINNER: Shipping from Boston Area - you tell me how to ship and I will confirm price online. I will supply paypal address to international winner via GeekMail for additional international mail cost above $10. Edit #1: Check out this Review.
EDIT #2: Copycat Awesome Tool being used for the drawing. EDIT #4: I will be attending the Unity Games meet in Woburn, MA. on Feb 6th. Hand delivery at that event will also be possible.

Geekmail on its way.
Condition: Very Good - it's been played a few times, but all parts are in tact and the box is in as-new condition. I'm also including the expansion: Elasund: Erweiterung.
The expansion is basically 4 new buildings and a small card explaining how they work. It's a print-n-play expansion, so I've mounted them to cardstock and sealed them. They look and feel like they belong with the rest of the game.
Edit: Less than 1 week until I draw a winner. Here's a pic of the expansion pieces. Not sure if my photo-skilz did them justice:
Shipping: Shipping will be free in the US, I will cover the first $20 worldwide.
Entries: 1 geekgold per entry (tip this item, not the list...) Every 5 geekgold tipped gives you a bonus entry (so 5 becomes 6) No limit on how much a person can put in.
Closing Date: Monday, January 25th (Sometime in the morning after I get to a computer)
Draw Method / Notification: Will use Jeromier's tool. The winner will be announced promptly and a geekmail will be sent to him/her to obtain shipping address, etc.

Do you find yourself wishing you could thwart your opponents by sending them catapulting into a pit of molten lava?
and really, who doesn't?
If so, this is the game for you!
Yes indeed, It's Shazamm! up for auction. I actually won this in a GGFG auction a few months ago. Tried it out, wasn't my thing, and figured I should put it back up for someone else to win and enjoy!
So here's the deal: Bid as often as you want- 1gg = 1bid I will gladly pay the first $10 towards international shipping, and domestic shipping within the USA is free!
If the auction goes over 125gg, I will throw in ANOTHER game- a rarity that (to my knowledge) only a small handful of people own on BGG: Ludy Ludo [size=10] [size=18]If this auction happens to go over 150gg, I will also throw in some gamer-friendly goodies. Baggies, dice, maybe even another, smaller game!
Edit: I have decided that if the auction reaches 150gg, I will throw in another game: Discover America, which is another rather rare game that not many folks on here have tried out. It is NEW and in shrink, unpunched, unplayed, etc, and my offer for just 150gg! Keep on bidding!!
Edit: 150gg has been reached, so I will be throwing in Discover America !!!! That's THREE games now to one very lucky winner!!!
Auction ends on January 31st around midnight.
Thanks for stopping by, and happy bidding!

In addition to being my first auction, this listing is hereby named "The TimJim Braggart's Lottery" because it is for TWO TimJim Games - each with a twist.
First off, Throneworld. Complete and Unpunched! However, the box lid is for 2038 (and has a strip of packing tape across the front). The box bottom is for Throneworld though. However, your gaming group will be so intimidated, they'll never ask to play it but ooh and ahh over your ownership of 2038... right?
Secondly, Age of Exploration. Mostly unpunched, cards still sealed in plastic. Missing the board - but how important is that anyway? Actually, I was expecting the board from somewhere but it never came, we have since moved, and I doubt my paypal-generated SASE will be accepted by the USPS 6 months after it was made. So this is good for replacement parts or looking good on a shelf. This box too is in good shape except for a strip of packing tape across the front.
Bidding: 1 = 1 Entry Bonus Entry per every 5
Shipping: What the heck, free shipping anywhere USPS will deliver via cheapest method. You can GM me about using a faster service for an additional fee if you like.
End Time: January 31, 2010, at Noon EST.
Cause: I don't even have an avatar yet! Not to say I'll even use GG to buy an avatar, it'll most likely get spent on other lottery or auction items. Thanks guys, especially aronbc who ordered me to get an avatar!

Ah, nostalgia! Remember when even Parker Brothers included bits worthy of Fantasy Flight games?
If you do, you're older than me and might even remember playing this game as a child.
This listing is for the 1972 Parker Brothers edition of Waterworks with the manhole cover box art (pictured). It is complete, including the 10 metal wrenches and plastic bathtub card tray. It has aged well - the box art is faded, but corners are intact and strong. Instruction are included, though with a few spots (age? water? intentional to go with the theme?). Cards are likewise in good shape, does not look like this was played much over the last 48 38 years.
Bidding: 1 = 1 entry 5 = 6 entries
Shipping: This one is a small box, so I'll ship FREE anywhere the USPS delivers via cheapest method for free. GM me if you want other arrangements.
End Date: January 31, 2010 at Noon EST.

This item is on this list in order to help me out with the No Geek Left Behind list. These are 2 metal BaseStars which I purchased separately for Battlestar Galactica, they measure 4" long by 3" wide and are painted. They work great!
Condition They are in great condition and have been primed, then painted, then sealed. I am by no means a professional, but I think they came out great!
Shipping I will cover this cost world wide if the auction reaches 100 , otherwise it will be a couple dollars to the US maybe 10 or so overseas.
Closing Time This auction will close on January 25th sometime around 10pm pacific time.
Rules for Entry Each will count as 1 entry. For every 5 you will get an additional entry (5 = 6 entries 5+1). Feel free to bid as much as you want as there is no limit on the amount of entries. I will use the program by Sol, to randomly choose a winner.

I got this for Christmas from a friend who also owns the game. As much as I like it, I will never have a large enough play group for this game unless I'm hanging out with the friend who already owns it. So I really don't see the point in owning this game myself. It is a really fun game though if you have friends who are excellent liars. Plus you can easily turn it into a drinking game, and what's better than drunken lying amongst friends?

Seems like Lance's luck might be making a comeback.
When I pre-ordered my copy of Homesteaders, which is a great game for those who enjoy a flavorful exercise in math, I was also required to pre-order a copy of this game. They are both new games from the upstart publisher Tasty Minstrel Games. I was really only interested in owning Homesteaders but decided to pre-order them together anyway to help TMG raise enough money for the games' production. This seems like an interesting game, but I have 10 games right now in my closet still in shrink wrap from Christmas and the games closet is currently at capacity. Hopefully someone out there will want this and give it a good home. The rules are posted on the game's page and there are some good reviews available for this game which was only shipped to those who pre-ordered last month. As of right now it is unavailable but will be released to the general public via distribution chains and online stores in the next few months. Here's your chance to own a cool sci-fi themed game before it is released!
Condition Brand new still in shrink wrap!
Shipping Shipping will be free anywhere in the world!
Bidding This lottery will end at 10pm on January 31st. Each geek gold nets you entry, every 5 gold nets you an additional entry, and every 10 golds nets you 3 additional entries. So 10 gold would give you 15 entries, 13 gold would give you 18 entries, 25 gold would give you 36 entries and so on. I will be using Sol's tool to determine the winner.
EDIT 1 After re-reading my listing I realized that not only did I use the word "game" approximately 47 times (my English professors would be so disgusted) but I didn't make it entirely clear that I have received my copies of these games. They were pre-ordered in September and I got them the week before Christmas. So you won't be waiting for this game to arrive at my place before I can ship. It's here now and waiting to go.
