To celebrate my April 7th birthday, here is the new list. Sorry for the delay. I was going to iron the bugs on the tool here before releasing the new list, but I should put it soon.

Welcome everyone to the April 2010 Edition of the Geekgold for Game Lottery. Thanks Blott for the amazing Idea and thanks everyone who took part all these times.

These are the Rules

How to bid for an item?
If you see an item on this geeklist that you're interested in owning:
1. It couldn't be more simple. Just tip that entry 1 and you are entered to win that game.
2. Check the description to see if you are allowed more than one entry on the item.

How to put an item on the lottery?
If you have a game that you're willing to part with for a little geekgold:
1. Post it as an item on the list.
2. Include a full description of the edition that you have and its condition. Be very clear on conditions, marks and box
3. Specify if you will be limited in shipping options. If you ship internationally, if the shipping is on you, and if so how much.
4. Specify when your item will close for entries.
5. You can post both RPG Items and Boardgames.
6. The item must be draw before 30th of April 2010

What to do when the lottery ends?
1. When closed, draw a random name from those that have tipped your entry. If you allowed multiple entries remember to take it in consideration.
2. Contact that person and arrange shipment of the game.
3. Send them the game.
4. Edit your geeklist item on this list with a note saying that "THIS ITEM IS CLOSED!" and to put the avatar of the winner, use the code [ username=name_of_winner] (without the space) for that.
5. When an item is closed I will move it to the bottom of the list. Please don't delete them

How to find the winner?
You can use any fair method you like, like putting the names on a hat and drawing it. But there are two favored methods.

1. First we have the Original Awesome Tool. Created by jeromier. It is very simple to use, but can only deal with one type of bonus (X bonus GG for each Y GG tipped) and limit the amount of tip.

2. Second we have the Copycat Awesome Tool created by yours truly. It can deal with any amount of items drawn on your listing, and any kind of bonus calculation that deals with the tip values only (and a few others). The rolls are trackable for anyone to see, and you can use it anytime to check how many tips and the winning percentage of everyone. It has a few statistics which I'm improving on. The only thing is that for an item to use it, it must be inserted by me, and that takes about 1 or 2 days, usually.

Special notes
Special Note #1: If you are giving an item, there is no guarantee for number of entrants. You must be prepared to give away your game even if you only receive a single geekgold entry. Do not enter a game unless you are prepared for that outcome!!

Special Note #2: If for any reason you are forced to withdraw a game you offered, you must refund all geekgold tipped to your entry.

Winners and Drawn Items
Subscribe to the Subscription thread. I update it (usually) daily, and there you can find a list of new items, and the winners list of all the lists we run so far.

Thanks for bidding!

Item:

One new copy of Slush Fund (by Dr. Finn, the man who brought us the excellent Scripts and Scribes). Slush Fund is unplayed, and did not come sealed.

Some BGG comments -

Blademaster777: Highly enjoyable, a lot of subtle intrigue within the game, with a healthy 'take-that' element.

MikeBwithoutadot: Fun card game with easy rules, but not so easy decisions while playing. Good with 2, even better with more.

mothertrukin: Distills area control into a fun little card game with some great manipulation cards that let you move/alter the board.

Entries:

1 GG gets you 1 entry.
A bonus entry every 5th GG.

Shipping:

I will cover shipping anywhere.

End date:

I will use Sol's increasingly mighty tool to pick a winner sometime in the evening of Frriday, April 30.

THIS EXHIBIT IS CLOSED!!!

Drawing in a moment...

Holy Crapperoni!! We hit 1000 gg!! Some of you really want a shot at a box of my trash!

I will keep this one going until tonight sometime - I am heading out with Becca for a night on the town in a few hours so expect me to draw tomorrow morning when Rilyn wakes me up from my hangover.

Feel free to tip all you want until you see a big giant "This exhibit is CLOSED" post on the top here.

Now to go put together a third mystery box...

Edit because I forgot something...

Here is a picture of the two mystery boxes you are bidding for right now. We get to 1000 gg I will make another one.

Oh my gosh! What could be inside!!

(I know - and they are both awesome)

Edit of some importance...

Due to things in my life being crazy, last months winner did not get his mystery box mailed to him very quickly - but it is now in the mail and headed his way. I have included some spoilerific text below if you care to know what he got, so you can drool over his winnings! (or laugh)

Good luck to everyone!

Lance

Spoiler (click to reveal)
He got Tikal, X+Y electronic party game - not horrible actually, a U-Spin-It, and the Austin Powers CCG starter deck, and some other random stuff I threw in for fun

EDIT!!!

We now have over 500 GG that means we will have two, count them, TWO mystery box winners!!

Can you feel the excitement?

APRIL FOOL'S DAY EDIT!!

We are only 85 GG away from me putting another Mystery box up for grabs. If we go over the 500 GG threshold today, I will draw one random winner from the people that have tipped me already and they will get all their GG they have already tipped, refunded to them.

Spot reserved for my offering when I get home

Blind tippers will get my undying love.

Blind and Blond tippers have more fun.

And in the immortal words of George Carlin "they also get more VD"

Anyway, this offer will be something a little special, more special than my last mystery box - I will have to explain later.

I am in a good mood today and I want to spread the good feelings around - so go hug someone you love, or hug a complete stranger, just don't get arrested.

Peace.

OK - sorry for the delay...

Here is how this one is going to work. I am giving away another one of my (in)famous mystery boxes, but for every 500 GG this entry gets, one (1) extra mystery box will be constructed by me for the winner(s). I will take a picture of the box and put a big number 1 on it. I am constructing the first box as I type and will post the picture of that one when I get home.

So when it comes time to pick the winner(s), the first person drawn will get to pick which box they want, or they can let my daughter Rilyn pick a box for them. No complaints about her decision making skills please! The next person then gets to make a choice, and then so on and so forth. I will supply one hint and one hint only about each mystery box to give you an idea of what might be found inside.

Anyone who tips more than 500 gg and DOESN'T win will get a portion of their GG refunded to them, at least 100 of it with it scaling up depending on how much you throw in.

Other than that, the standard rules apply...

Shipping: Free everywhere

Drawing: April 30th when I remember

Bonus: The standard 1 bonus for every 5

Will there be any crazy additions later?: Most assuredly

Disclaimer - this is still stuff from my collection and other odds and ends that I am getting rid of, but there is lots of stuff that I own that most people will think is pretty awesome that I cannot stand, so you are sitting pretty well if you decide to throw down.

It's time for the last set of these!

This is not for the game!
This is for metal "coins" to replace the cardboard coins that came with the game At the Gates of Loyang.

There are 15 Brass "coins" (each about the size of a US quarter) and 25* smaller silver colored "coins" (each about the size of a US dime).

This auction will end on April 30, with the winner drawn on May 1 using one of the random tools.

I will cover shipping anywhere in the world, but don't expect it to arrive overnight.

1 = 1 entry.
5 = 6 entries.
20 = 30 entries.

Just to be very clear, this is not real currency.

* - There are more than enough "coins" here to be used with In the Year of the Dragon instead of AtGoL, or you could use them in both, just not at the same time.

First hint of 1st bonus: MSRP is $16.99. Retail price is $11.55 at the online retailer of choice.
Second hint of 1st bonus: This item is somehow related to the topic of the game.
Third hint of 1st bonus: Provides background into the topic of the game.

Bonus! #1: As Altaira correctly guessed, the first bonus is a once read paperback copy of the 2009 printing of the book of the same name. 1960: The Making of the President If you're like me, the theme of this game is part of why you're interested in it, and this Pulitzer Prize winning book should be a great way to add some insight into the events of the game!

First hint for the 2nd bonus: The 2nd bonus is a game.
Second hint for the 2nd bonus: The game shares the same publisher with our primary item. (Z-Man Games).
Third hint for the 2nd bonus: This game is also a 2 player game.

Bonus! #2: As bill_andel correctly guessed after 3 hints (I failed to see the comment, subscription's acting screwy!) the second bonus is a new in shrink copy of Campaign Manager 2008! This item was related by designers, artist, publisher as well as in theme (presidential politics), so it was probably an easy guess. No promises future bonuses will be so easy!

First hint for the 3rd bonus:This is a game.
Second hint for the 3rd bonus:This game uses cards.
Third hint for the 3rd bonus:This game is in the BGG top 500.
Fourth hint for the 3rd bonus:This game is not related by theme.
Fifth hint for the 3rd bonus:This game also has a co-operative play component to it.
Sixth hint for the 3rd bonus:.Published by Z-Man Games, as well as 13 others according to the BGG entry. (This copy is Z-Man)
Seventh hint for the 3rd bonus:Um 7th hint huh? How about this: Alfred Hitchcock directed a movie of the same name.
Eighth hint for the 3rd bonus:Doubt it will be needed!

Bonus! #3: As troybowers and DaJackel correctly guessed (I tipped you each 1 since it was close enough in time) after 8 hints the third bonus is a new in shrink copy of Saboteur! This item was related by publisher, and I have heard some glowing things about it so figured it'd serve as a nice bonus item.

All bonuses will be related to the game in some way. (Could be related by designer, artist, publisher, topic, etc. May not be closely related, but will be related in some way.)

Geek gold tax relief bidding bonus! I like how Lance did the bonus of 25% on tipped on his March auction, and to cheer spirits up I thought I would do the same. For the next 18 hours (until midnight CDT on April 15th 2010), ALL tips sent to me that include a Geekmail (basically choose the "other amount with a message" option) will be refunded 25% by me. I have decided to wait and process all refunds on Friday, since it that makes the most sense. Your refund will be processed and returned on Friday April 16th.

"Let me explain. No there is too much. Let me sum up." For every 4 GG you tipped me (if you sent it along with a message) I will return 1 GG to you that you can use for whatever you want.

Tips made to me WITHOUT a geekmail message are NOT valid for this refund.

Thanks to Lance for the great idea, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!

The refund bonus is over, thanks for participating!

Congrats to all of you!

What are you trying to win: one game FROM YOUR WISHLIST! (Yes, that's right! a new, in shrink, game you've been wanting to get for some time and finally can be yours in trade for virtual money!)

The fine print: if you win, you'll get a in-print, readily available game from your wishlist. I'll buy the game and have it sent to you. I promise you'll get something good, not some Tanga card game you forgot to cross off from the list. I'll even take requests, if you don't want to be surprised!

If your list has one or more games that retail for around 50 dollars, you have a pretty good chance to get one of them; if it contains only Space Hulk and War of the Ring Collector's Edition, though, please contact me before entering.

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL!!! Whoever bids the highest amount ALSO gets a game from their wishlist! The rules are the same as for the first one. You've read right: it makes TWO GAMES in a single lottery item! And yes, you CAN win both of them!

Entry details:

1 = 1 entry
5 = 6 entries

Shipping is on me anywhere in the world. (living outside US, I know how sad it is to be left out of the party sometimes).

End date
: April 30, at a random time to prevent sniping.

How am I gonna pick the winner: I'll definitely use Sol's tool. I've even written a little poem inspired by it:

The tool! The tool!
Have faith in the tool!
I think it is awesome,
I think it is cool!

Te tool! The tool!
Make way for the tool!
I pity the fool
who despises the tool!

So, what else can I say? Good luck!

So far, nichol, with 1335 GG
, is getting a game from his wishlist. How long will it last? How many GG will it take to get the second game?

Edit: I'll try and keep current highest bidder info up-to-date

Here is your chance to try out one of the best dexterity games ever!

This is a simple plastic Gombfoci set, shown on the picture below. Two teams, two goals and a ball. You also need a table in order to play; in Hungary this game is usually played on the largest rectangular table in the household. The rules (many different versions actually) can be found on BGG.

Entries:
1=1 entry
5=6 entries

Shipping: free worldwide

Draw date: April 7, 2010

The winner will be chosen by Sol's tool.

Warning: This is the simplest possible set, it is enough only for trying out the game. In order to get the full experience, you need a proper board, around 40 customized teams (only two can be used at a time, but you still need more), and you need to watch and play soccer every week.

Wulf, your 21.6 refund is on its way!

In honor of the fear and trepidation that April 15th brings for many Americans, I present a bundle containing When Darkness Comes and three of its expansions.

The winner will receive:

When Darkness Comes
When Darkness Comes: The Horror Within
When Darkness Comes: The Darkness Before the Dawn
When Darkness Comes: Hell Unleashed

The base game has been punched and played once. The miniatures are unpainted, although I did file off a bit of the flash and sanded down the bottoms where necessary for them to stand upright.

The expansions are opened but unpunched and unplayed. Everything's in great condition except for the Horror Within rulebook, which has some dents on the back.

Each 1 gets you one entry, with no upper limit. Enter as much as you like. No bonus entries for large amounts of bag, though, as I feel that skews the chances unfairly toward the high bidders.

Shipping is free worldwide.

This closes at midnight on April 15th. I will draw the winner on the 16th using Sol's tool.

Bonus! Tax Refund Winner! One random tipper will get a refund of 10% of the total tips on this item. The same person cannot get both the game and the refund.

The third game to be released by Indie Boards and Cards - Haggis is a 2-3 player climbing card game (think tichu, not mountains) featuring original artwork of Gary Simpson.

Two years in development from designer and active BGGer Sean Ross, Haggis has been described as "a wonderful climbing game", "exactly what I was looking for in a two player climbing game", "Fine-tuned, connoisseur's 2p climbing game", "a highly-regarded Tichu-like game for 2-3 players"

If you like Tichu but don't always have 4 players, Haggis might be right for you.
