It happens to me that I pulled a game out of the shelf and as I opened the box there are some components wich I have painted years ago and I didn´t even know it anymore.

So I thought about all the games that I had changed in one way or another, for some I have translated the rules and made player aids, some have received a complete makeover. I have painted minis, made my own minis and many more.
I even tried to create my own boardgames.

Now I would like to show in this list what creative things I have done in more than 25 years of gaming.

Not all the things in this list are "hot" but I´ve always done my best.

If you have something creative that you would share, feel free to add to this list !

Maybe I still have forgotten some things and when I recognize it I will add them later.

I translated the rules from english to german and yes, I´ve made the mistake to think that calicut and calcutta are the same.

I received Vasco da Gama, Reef Encounter and Reef Encounter of the Second Kind for this translation. I wasn´t the first choice but after someone else left the boat I have been asked and now all the germans have to live with my translation.

This game has lots of cards and so we need a cardholder:

The cities and strongholds where made out of cardboard and so I´ve found another use for my parts from Mighty Empires:

Do you know that there can be holes in the world after setup of the map ?
What to do ?
Make something to close the holes:

And because I´ve gone so far I also did paint all the figures:

Well I got tired of the open puzzle piece look of the genestealer spawns, so I created my own to give the board a more complete look.

But all the peices of Space Hulk are debossed, so I used a technique to make mines the same.

I am very happy with the way they turned out. I have made a few sets.

for a tutorial on how this is done:

I found that the car disks for picthcar mini do not have the same bevel as the bigger ones and are so light that the fall off the track more often than they should. So I made my own, each weighted with a dime in the middle. They stick to the track much better.

the tutorial of how they were created can be found here.

I made a Zombie version of Carcassonne that has all new play mechanics and a new art design. This is my favorite thing I have ever made.

The thread about this game's design can be found here

I have made a few other versions of games, but i do not have images of them at this time.

Quite the contrary!

No children or Carcassonne tiles were harmed in the taking of this photo. ^_^ These, the caretaker, and the Ingenious tiles were finally enough to get her to quit grabbing our Acquire bits while we were trying to play. Without sufficient distraction, this adorable child is the Godzilla of board game earthquakes!

One of the best geeklists I've read in awhile.

I've started painting figures for some of the games I own, very relaxing for me. Even though I am not the best at painting, I still enjoy it. I have a huge list of what I want to do for each game, not sure if I will ever finish them all, never seems like there is enough time!

You have inspired me to be more creative with my own games!!!
