Welcome everyone to the May 2010 Edition of the Geekgold for Game Lottery. Thanks Blott for the amazing Idea and thanks everyone who took part all these times. This is probably one of the last full month lists, I will probably break them up in bi-week ones once VGG rolls out. And if you are asking yourself why the title, is that yo mom is so fat that she has a whole Month to celebrate her (May is considered the Mother's Month in Brazil)

These are the Rules

How to bid for an item?
If you see an item on this geeklist that you're interested in owning:
1. It couldn't be more simple. Just tip that entry 1 and you are entered to win that game.
2. Check the description to see if you are allowed more than one entry on the item.

How to put an item on the lottery?
If you have a game that you're willing to part with for a little geekgold:
1. Post it as an item on the list.
2. Include a full description of the edition that you have and its condition. Be very clear on conditions, marks and box
3. Specify if you will be limited in shipping options. If you ship internationally, if the shipping is on you, and if so how much.
4. Specify when your item will close for entries.
5. You can post both RPG Items and Boardgames.
6. The item must be draw before 31th of May 2010

What to do when the lottery ends?
1. When closed, draw a random name from those that have tipped your entry. If you allowed multiple entries remember to take it in consideration.
2. Contact that person and arrange shipment of the game.
3. Send them the game.
4. Edit your geeklist item on this list with a note saying that "THIS ITEM IS CLOSED!" and to put the avatar of the winner, use the code [ username=name_of_winner] (without the space) for that.
5. When an item is closed I will move it to the bottom of the list. Please don't delete them

How to find the winner?
You can use any fair method you like, like putting the names on a hat and drawing it. But there are two favored methods.

1. First we have the Original Awesome Tool. Created by jeromier. It is very simple to use, but can only deal with one type of bonus (X bonus GG for each Y GG tipped) and limit the amount of tip.

2. Second we have the Copycat Awesome Tool created by yours truly. It can deal with any amount of items drawn on your listing, and any kind of bonus calculation that deals with the tip values only (and a few others). The rolls are trackable for anyone to see, and you can use it anytime to check how many tips and the winning percentage of everyone. It has a few statistics which I'm improving on. The only thing is that for an item to use it, it must be inserted by me, and that takes about 1 or 2 days, usually.

Some requests and guidelines
When Blott created this list in September 2009, and when I took over in October 2009, neither of us had an idea it would become this big. And with bigger lists comes bigger responsibilities, and sometimes new rules must be put in place to help with the good flowing of the list. The rules on this section are meant to be guidelines to help we have a better environment. Some people did note about them on the banter thread, but I'm suffering with it to as I have to scan the list to check changes that can't be done automatically. So please, try to follow all of it.

1. Don't update more than once a day;
2. Editing for the sake of trying to attract people is bad behavior. Doing it everyday (countdown to draw) is even worst. When an entry is updated I go check it to see if I have to change anything on the tool entry for it, and when there are half the items with updates, that can be a bit difficult;
3. The sweet spot for tips, save rare occurrences is 15-20days. That means that after 20 days, feel tips will get to your entry. mostly from people who are getting more and adding, but few new entrees.

Special notes
Special Note #1: If you are giving an item, there is no guarantee for number of entrants. You must be prepared to give away your game even if you only receive a single geekgold entry. Do not enter a game unless you are prepared for that outcome!!

Special Note #2: If for any reason you are forced to withdraw a game you offered, you must refund all geekgold tipped to your entry.

Winners and Drawn Items
Subscribe to the Subscription thread. I update it (usually) daily, and there you can find a list of new items, and the winners list of all the lists we run so far.

Item:

One new in shrink copy of Submarine.
It's the new bacon (just ask Chit Chat . . . )

What my Geekbuddies say:

glanfam - Some very clever mechanisms at work here. Those who don't appreciate it's depth are missing the boat.

CDRodeffer - Nice tactical resource (card & joker) management game.

sisteray: This is a nice game of maneuvering. There are some tough choices as you may want to skip your actions to take other actions sooner. I rather like the decisions that come with blocking people for their cards vs getting to better treasures. There is only a minor constraint on movement, but just enough where it makes you still wish you could get anywhere, this builds tension in an effective way.

Entries:

1 GG gets you 1 entry.
A bonus entry every 5th GG.

Shipping:

I will cover shipping anywhere.

End date:

I will use Sol's increasingly mighty tool to pick a winner sometime in the evening of Sunday, May 16.

THIS EXHIBIT IS CLOSED!!

HUGE UNDEADVIKING MYSTERY BOX BLOWOUT!!!

UndeadViking has become cranky and grumpy lately with housework and landscaping duty as he prepares his house for the onslaught of out of town relatives for his upcoming wedding this fall, so he is planning on putting up one more Mystery Box and then taking a break from posting an offer on the GfG lotteries for awhile.

What does this mean to you?

It means this - this mystery box will only be as absolutely fantastic and amazing as you, the tippers, can make it. When this one ends, I am going to divide the total amount of GG tipped by 100 and that will be the absolute MINIMUM the box will weigh.

So, 1000 GG tipped will equal 10 pounds, 1500 GG tipped will equal 15, and so on and so forth. I will make a video of myself weighing the box (or boxes if it comes to that) to prove its authenticity before shipping it out. This box will include anything I damn well please, but you WILL get games - in fact I will guarantee that at least three games will be included in the box - and not shitty Tanga Trash ones either.

You will ALSO get, hold onto your seats, a framed, authentic, autographed picture of yours truly, with the mystery box, with my little Valkyrie in training Rilyn, and whoever else decides to be part of the picture, such as Becca or one of my pets.

Now then, I am going to stop the weight at 20 pounds. I will still accept tips at that point, but if we somehow exceed 2000 GG, I can't continue to escalate the weight of the package for cost purposes. If I ended up spending a couple hundred bucks to ship the dang thing, I might as well jump into traffic instead of letting the wife to be kill me herself.

As always, I make no guarantees that you will like what you are getting, only that it will be a surprise and I will try to make you happy, as only an UndeadViking can.

So - you excited? I know I am!

Now then, the rules:

Ends: May 31st.

Shipping: Free everywhere in the world - this could suck a lot.

Bonus entries: Let's try something no one has every thought of before, every 5 GG tipped gets you one.

My undying love: Goes out to you all.

Edit on May 2nd - We are now at 3.37 pounds. This is going to be too easy if I don't get more geekgold soon...

Edit on May 7th - 5.47 pounds. We are officially at one larger game or two smaller game territory now.

Edit on May 23th - Sorry I haven't done any crazy edits on this one, I have been busy with real life. We are almost at 7 lbs at this point, which means that unless I can a really heavy game, the winner is getting at least two mystery games in the mail. If we can hit 800 you are probably getting three.

Edit on May 25thThanks to your generosity, we are close to hitting 1000 GG. If we hit that level, I will guarantee the box will contain at least 4 games along with other goodness, plus I will work with the winner to try and make sure that they will like what I am giving them (I.E. One game will be on their wishlist or be of a theme they enjoy)

FINAL EDIT: From now until the end of the month, any GG tip given to me that is sent ALONG with a message will get 25% of their GG back, refunded at the time of the drawing. GG tips that have particularly funny messages will get more. Feel free to tell me I am awesome, I love compliments.

I love you all!

OK - we have a winner -

Congratulations!

This lottery is for one set of transparent red Elven Dice from Q-workshop. They are brand new, in perfect condition, still in the original blister pack.

Rules:
Shipping worldwide is free, but don't expect them to be delivered overnight!

One GG gets you one entry. Every 5 GG tipped gives you a bonus entry.

This item will close on midnight May 16th, and then the winner will be chosen with The Copycat Awesome Tool the following day.

This time - no bonus dice, sorry! If I have any left over dice after my April lottery entry closes, I will add them as a bonus - but at this moment it seems that they all might be gone!

Update: I have some bonus dice left, so here go the bonuses:
at 100GG - 1 special die,
at 200GG - 2 special dice,
at 300GG - 3 special dice,
at 400GG - 3 special dice, 3 white runic D10s and 1 white runic D100.

Good luck everyone!

HIGH STAKES FAST ACTION HOTNESS DRAW!!

Read the Rules carefully:

- You have to bid exactly 25 geekgold. NOT more, not less.
- no bonus entries. no 600 bids, no snipers, no extreme luck of 0,02% wins. All are equal.
- when the deadline comes, I draw a name and make a screenshot that moment from the opening page. The winner can name 5 games from the top 10 games from the Hotness list.
- the winner sends me the 5 game names and the nearest webshop or FLGS details where I can pay via PayPal. (in extreme conditions this may be a matter of discussion) - must be available, and reasonable price range (no Dune etc.)
- I will order ONE of the five games for the winner, but I am not telling which, so it will be a surprise when he/she gets it.

## If bidding reaches 1500 geekgold I add a surprise game of my choice for the winner (yes, I will check your want list and the games you like but I choose)

## If bidding reaches 2500 geekgold a second winner will get a game from the hotness list the same way.

## If bidding reaches 5000 geekgold a third winner will get a game from the hotness list the same way.

ENDS: 23 MAY, in the evening hours, CET, or the next morning, depends... laugh

I will select the winner with the super-duper traceable awesomeness tool:
http://www.castelodelego.org/sol/ (the link did not work, now fixed)
(if it can, I will draw 2nd and 3rd winners the same way or another way)

Ah, the list is online! I have noticed that I have too many shrinkwrapped games at home that don't have much hope of being played in the near future. So why not fill up my treasury with them?

Here's the offer. You can choose one game from the following list. Once we reach
252 ,
You can choose two games from the following list. Activated! At
567 ,
You can choose three games. [/b] Activated! At
882 you get a full four games from the list.

A ticket costs 1 , and there is the customary bonus entry for each five you tip.

All the games are German editions (those I checked have their English translations online, but I haven't checked all of them) and all are new and shrinkwrapped. Shipping is on me, worldwide.

The Golden City

Anno 1503 (without Teuber's signature, though)

Under the Shadow of the Dragon

Before the Wind

Terra Nova

Origo

I am planning to do the drawing on the 17th of May, but a delay of one or even a few days is possible, I am afraid. I want to use Sol's tool if it is usable for people like me :-). If not, I will find some other way of doing the drawing.

Edit: Thank you, Troy, for pushing this over the first threshold. Now the winner of this lottery can choose two of the games listed above. Sounds like it would be worth a few more entries now, wouldn't it?

Edit 2: The next threshold has been reached - the winner can choose three of the above games. Now shipping will be even more fuzz for me - you might as well sink even some more gold into this to make me happy. :-)

MYSTERY BOX YOU KNOW YOU LOVE THE MYSTERY BOX

CLOSED

You're bidding on a box of stuff! At least one decent (6 rating or better) full-sized game, and more than one if the GG gets high enough. Also at minimum 1-2 smaller games, plus a mix of comics, DVDs, toys, and other general nerd thingies.

(Those wanting a guideline as to how much GG equals how much prize should take a look at the 2-player extravaganza from last month and think bigger. I won't make quite the same explicit promise as UndeadViking did for his - 100gg=1 pound - but given that the last person who got a mystery box from me got 8-9 pounds of stuff, I would say my mystery boxes are pretty decent.)

My previous mystery box winner got a pretty impressive haul, I think; I'm betting I can beat that this time around, as I have some choice stuff I don't want to bother individually auctioning (and I'm always curious to see what types of auctions generate the most GG).

1gg = 1 entry
5gg = 6 entries
20gg = 30 entries

Shipping free anywhere at 200gg.

Auction closes May 31.

That's essentially Bohnanza, except that the rules have been watered down a little to accomodate 8 year olds, and it plays with 2-5 players. Of course you can play the original Bohnanza rules with it, too.
