This is the traditional weekly thrift and bargain finds list.
These lists may start empty but as always: add your items.
Put in what you consider a bargain, tell us how much you paid and the place you got it from. Bargains can be thrift store finds or any second-hand purchases or discounted boardgames bought new. Don't forget to add your encounters with the Thrift Store Irritant Squad™ and any other embellishments in order to make it even more interesting.
The Weekly Thrift List Wayback Machine The Grand Vizier is maintaining a list of all the weekly thrift lists through time, and will be adding stats and interesting tidbits for each week. http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/48522

Kind of a strange trip on the way to purchase this copy at GW for $8.00. Ok, ok, this price includes the 10% off senior citizen discount.
When I first saw this at the GW it was unopened and pristine marked for sale at $19.95. Too rich for my blood but read about this release when I got home - kind of interesting.
On Tueday I'm back at the same GW and they are having a half off sale on games and I find it again, now in a taped box and obviously opened previously.
The clerk is willing to reopen it to see what it still contains and I don't immediately notice anything missing...cities are bagged but the money is loose. Take the chance and buy it for $8.00. Haven't had a chance to fully inventory it yet.
Wondering if this type of distruction or theft is a common occurance? Pretty sad.
Later in the day I dropped by the small ARC store not far from my house. They usually don't have much, but I found this SPI nestled on the shelf between some puzzles. This one goes to my husband the wargamer. $1.99, complete.
Booyah! I saw this on a back counter and asked about it. Hadn't been priced yet so they found someone to get a price for me. He jokingly asked me to name a price and I 1/2 hoped/joked 'I'll give you 5 for it.' He and the other clerks laughed and he went to look it up on the computer while I and another clerk looked through it. Game was in great condition and from visual inspection seemed complete. I hear the price guy and another clerk debating things on the computer, seems the game wasn't coming up, so he comes over and says 'I am tired of this thing, I'll give it to you for $5.00.' SOLD I think. And then he puts a $15 price on the Stellar Conquest above and I figure what the hell, even if $15 is too much I am getting a sweet deal on this.
Found this yesterday during BGG's outage so I couldn't use my phone to check its rating. But $1.99 for a name designer? I'll try it. Looked over the rules and it's definitely worth a play or two, but I'm guessing we won't like it as much as we like Loot.
Contents complete except missing the Ben Gunn pawn (although the pawn stand is there). Easy enough to rig up a replacement. Box in good shape.
$7.99 at Value Village - complete and in nice shape - it was in the cart waiting to be put on the shelf. A bit pricey, but if you average my last find of this ($1.19 here), I'm averaging $4.59 a copy. Now I can do the super long tracks!!
I passed on a copy of Sharp Shooters in unknown condition - it was stuck at the bottom of the cart underneath a bunch of wooden puzzles and other games. I may go back later this afternoon and see how much it is as I could use some extra dice.

Kling Magnetic Playing Cards. Don't know if it's supposed to be listed here or under Poker or something else. I just remember seeing one on the thrift list once, and hoped one might come my way. It doesn't seem to have a listing of its own.
Contains two decks of cards and a magnetic board. Nice board, by the way,
Great for breaking out when the BBQ party gets boring.
interesting find today at salvation army , monoploy texas edition, but with a twist, box is shaped like the state of texas huge box, has state themed movers, armodillo, pickup truck, etc . can not find an image in the data base for it. 1.99
