More Geeklist items asking for a reprint than threads about anything have probably been posted about Glory to Rome. Of course, now news (and pictures!) have been posted indicating a reprint. What game do you want to see reprinted that probably never will be?

I obtained an original copy of the game and was less than impressed with the components. Eventually I made my own version that I put the time and effort in to make look polished and pretty and it is much nicer to play on. But still...

I dream of a reprint to both put more shine on the components, but also to reintroduce this game and make it more accessible to more gamers so that finding players would be a bit easier.

But without the Dune theme.
If it's Dune without any Dune theme, is it still Dune?

Yeah, I believe that they have the rights to the game mechanics, but not the licensing rights to the theme. I love the Dune game mechanics, they really make a great game.

However, there is something to be said about the theme and how much each faction feels like the faction from the Dune book.

It just won't be the same if instead of the Reverend Mother sending down some troops with the Guild as they land their forces in Sietch Tabr on the desert world of Arrakis, it is Runewitch Astarra sending in sorcerers to accompany some Uthuk Y'llan as they move to the Trader's Fort in the Desert of Al-Kalim.

In 2006 a shop had this game for 29 bucks sitting on a shelf - and no one had bought it (as the owner told me) for years. Might be because the owner was very annoying - constantly talking with you while you were browsing his shelfs.

I could not buy it because I had not enough money with me - the 30 bucks I had went into a mint copy of AH Hannibal (he gave me some off because a few counters had fallen out of the counter-sheets - unbelievable how he knew what he sold (warning: some sarcasm hidden here)).

When I returned one week later to grab the Star Wars Game the whole shop was gone without a trace. The place where he was the week before was empty and no sign like "we're closed / moved / whatever - I expect a time-rift, other dimension - overlapping or something similar.

Sounds like a "Twilight Zone" episode: protagonist buys a "magic" item that he doesn't believe in that saves his life in an unexpected way and goes back to the shop to thank the owner and the shop was never there......

Believe it or not, I'd love to see this reprinted. I doubt it ever will, but one can hope. I know it is infamous for being unplayable and poorly developed, but I've heard the scenarios are actually pretty good and the logistics side of thing has become appealing thanks to OCS, although this is in another league entirely. I don't know the insanity of it all just appeals. Plus with Vassal now, you might be able to play an entire campaign.

Are you F'n kidding me man?

FYI. This game was NEVER playtested (as per Eric Lee Smith's witnessing).
What does it tell you about the designer when he himself doesn't playtest his junk?

I look at this "game" the same way some look at the "Elephant man": freakish and weird - but I wouldn't want to touch it...

What I'd really like to see is maybe a sort of "Big Box" version, say like all the Sci-Fi/Space in one box, then all the historical scenarios, then all the "tank&infantry" ones. You could make the maps thicker, maybe even double-sided. And, of course, heavier counters.

I haven't played this, but I could see FFG giving this a remake, perhaps simplifying it some. And of course (since its FFG) a horde of plastic minis and a truckload-worth of different card decks. Anyone agree?

Nah, if it's to be reprinted, then keep it as it is for the most part.

Currently it seems the reprint is not possible because Richard Hamblen can't be located, but Z-Man Games have shown an interest in doing it.

I really like FFG, but this is one game I'd rather like to see Z-Man games do instead. There is already a glut of fantasy stuff amongst the FFG library, and if they did this one current trends show they would re-theme it for the Runebound universe (only Talisman hasn't been rethemed, and that's probably because FFG took it over directly from Black Industries who had already re-released it).

I think I'm somewhere in the middle. While I wouldn't mind if Zman OR FFG putting this out again, I think FFG would put a lot more chrome on the game to really make it shine. However, I think I'm really getting tired of "Terrinoth" as a setting and wouldn't mind them coming up with some new fantasy universe.

Heck, I'd even settle for "generic fantasy universe X" over Terrinoth.

Hero Quest, for purely sentimental reasons. There are many new fantasy behemoths around, so there will never be the need for a new Heroquest, especially with the DungeonQuest (third edition) reprint coming up. But still, I would love to play this again and maybe play it with my kids someday, *sigh*.

While I have the original Mystic Wood, I have to take such good care not to damage the components I'm almost afraid to take them out of the box (I have the same problem with the cards in Dune). This is a fun game though and it would be nice to see a reprint.

Some ideas: Out of Print games you wish would be reprinted.. The good news: a lot of the ones in this list are now or soon will be reprinted.

They used to say this about Betrayal at House on the Hill. Everyone would clamor for a reprint, and people always said "Don't bother, it's not going to happen." BaHotH is being reprinted this year.

You gotta believe!!!
