In the personal comments section of UATWMF, shyuechou asked: "...if this is the only game about political protest here." The answer is no. I know of at least one other game whose subject is political protest. Hence this list. Are there other games about political protest? Feel free to add to this list, but let's try and keep to the subject of Political Protest. (Games like Junta!, Kremlin, Road to the White House etc. may be about politics, but they are not about political protest.)

Another Jim Dunnigan design, the subject of this game is the political protest (and riots) in Chicago, 1968. I own this game and have played it (thirty years ago!), but I can't recall anything about the game.

A game about the ultimate manifestation of political protest...the bloody coup. Nothing says you are unhappy more than having your minions fill the streets in a blood soaked riot to protest your paltry share of pilfered aid money.

Not exactly peaceful protest, but I'm adding it anyway for two reasons:

(1) Junta is already on the list, and coups (a major part of the game) are also a violent form of political change.

(2) Algeria is one of the few games that tries to simulate insurgency--the majority of wars in the last century, and the distinct minority of wargames.

Depicts the Los Angeles riots of April 1992.

"The purpose of the game is to give players a chance to use different game strategies to simulate the confrontation between police and rioters. There are two players in the game: Authority (representing the city government, law enforcement agencies, and the general forces of law and order); and the Rioters (representing the people conducting the disturbances.)"

Presidential Poker pits the Red State personalities and issues against the Blue Staters in a wild Hold'em variation that plays out the issues of the 2004 Election. The need to beat a dummy hand when the George Bush Ace is drawn and the redealt flops when the "Flip Flop" Kerry Ace is drawn are hilarious forms of political protest.

Different factions of the Chinese Communist Party fight and subvert their way to the top. Don't go too far or the whole country will collapse into chaos. About the Tupamaro urban guerrillas in Uruguay, 1968-72. 2 players, 80 double-sided counters, 8.5x11" non-representational map, abstract troop and time scale. Lots of different things to do, rather subtle strategies for the guerrilla player to follow. Published in Strategist #287 (January 1996), zine of the Strategy Gaming Society. Revised version currently available from Schutze Games. I think this game fits here because the map is sort of a 'map of attitudes' of the different social sectors of the people of the city of Montevideo, and getting popular support for or against you is important.
