3rd. Price: Bonus winner

Well, this one was the hardest one for me. I had 13 entries chosen and I had this secret thing in my mind I used to search for the third winner.
I looked for three things:
1) Congrats to me and Agnes
2) Correct entry
3) Great reasoning or story

I had some trouble of deciding here, because there were so many good ones, so I was able to choose 3 best ones and from them I randomly draw the winner. I'm sorry, I'm weak, I wish I could give you all something great.

So, the winner:

As for the price, I thought here many things, but this one is like the third price, so I will make it 15$ game winner choosing, so choose well.

I hope there is no hard feelings from all the rest participants.
I can tell you that this is not my last give away, so be on the alert.

I hope all the winner now can help me to get their games as cheap as possible, somewhere near them would be best.

THANK YOU ALL FOR TAKING PART IN THIS!

Hello, hello to all.

I wasn't planning to give away any games again any time soon, because I just had one give away after I got the Love Spreader award, but now I got another award - Geek Of The Week.
And to celebrate this I decided to give away 3 games to random user here on BGG.

Las time I had 5 items I chose random, but this I thought we could do something little more different. These games I offered last time might not be what you want, so this time we do the following:

First you could thumb this list to keep this on the first page as long as possible.
Then you add here geek list item with the name of the game you wish to have. Only rule is that the game should cost less than 60$ (because I will pay the shipping too). Then write short about why you want this game. This might be just few words, but I would love to read them all. And to the end add a second game you would like, if for some reason your first choice wasn't picked as winner. I will make the first item as example for you all anyways.
The second game you add should be valued less than 30$ (again, I will pay for shipping)

Drawing: I will draw this item on the 5th of September, because this is Agnes's birthday (user LilyGirl). Drawing will be easy - use random number generator to pick two users.
1st. winner will get the game he/she listed as item.
2nd. winner will get the game he/she wrote as second choice.

Bonuses: This wouldn't be as fun without bonuses. Same bonus as last time - for every 0.5 tip to this geek list you will be added to the draw one additional time.

Bonus 2:
Who will write me best reason/story/words why he/she wants the main listed game and for some reason don't win, will get something special from me. Maybe something off her/his wish list as third winner.

Things to remember:

1. Recommend this list.
2. Add item with game in 60$ dollars, write short reason and then add second game under 30$
3. You can get additional bonus for 0.5 for tipping the list.
4. Check back with the list around 5th of September, Agnes's birthday.

Good luck.

PS! Edit: Everyone check your entries. Check that games are cheaper than the numbers I wrote before. If it is more expensive, I hope you have solution written there (like you are willing to pay for shipping), because I will not accept the offer to pay the difference to me, because the shipping is more expensive for larger and more expensive games. You can offer to pay for shipping.
Also check that you have selected only one game for 60 and 30 dollars, so total of 2 games. I will not accept a list of games to choose from. Choose now or later I will draw your name and you have there a large number of games, I will draw another winner.
Also everyone who has entered their wishes as comments, make them as geeklist items as well.
Drawing will be later today, Sunday the 5th...

Congrats on GOW!! Well deserved!!

Why? This looks like a new twist on the deck builder/card development theme--which I like very much. I have not seen it at my FLGS and would like to get my hands on a copy to play with my family and local gaming group.

The second game - Innovation - I love civilization/empire building games, especially ones with a technology component.

Well I'm always looking for good two player games I can con the old wife into playing. We now have a 10 month old so the big crayon rails games we used to play for hours on end are getting difficult, seems we keep getting distracted. For some reson a 10 month old doesn't care if I have to deliver Rayguns to Botony Bay (ahh Mars, how I love you).

#1
Claustrophobia

Always looking for a fun 2 player dungeon crawl. All the pretty bits don't hurt but the game looks fun and not overly long. A crawl where both players have fun?? Count me in!

Wow, what a truly incredible giveaway. This site is full of the nicest people on the internet. Fact.

Anyway, at the risk of being one of the sheep my first choice would be Cyclades. Why? Ray Harryhausen and his amazing stop-motion mythological monsters, that's why. Those films were a big chunk of my childhood, and now I get to control the same creatures!

My second choice would be It's Alive! Again, it's because of the monsters. This time Frankenstein's. How could I resist??

Congrats Raiko on being GotW and thank you very much for your generosity. Also early Happy Birthday to LilyGirl

Railways of the World: My group has never really been into train games but have played Ticket to Ride. Was looking for a more complex game to introduce to the group and read this review: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/533330/a-comprehensive-p...

Now I must acquire it.

Through the Desert: Played this for the first time at GenCon this year. Really enjoyed it. Hoping to pick up some time.

Thanks again Raiko and good luck to all.

1st choice: Railways of England and Wales

Why? Since our sons moved out, I'm trying to get my wife into more meaty games, slowly, slowly, slowly. I think this would be a great two player that would get her into train games plus it also has the ADVANCED game that could nudge her into even meatier fare.

2nd choice: Transamerica

Why? My mom & sister love Ticket to Ride, however the only expansion for TtR that has worked has been the 1910 & Mystery Train. This is a train game in a similar vein, but it is quicker & easier.

This is wonderfully generous of you and I hope you enjoy your GotW reign.

Well, I'll start off with thanking you sincerely for this incredible chance. You deserve all the best! Gamers like you make this a place to be.

I'm not greedy, so my #1 game is merely :

Why? Well, I had almost given up on this deck-building game, but all the incredible feedback on this expansion has me second guessing my decision to stay away from it. Will it "fix" what I perceive to be what keeps me from playing the base game?
It sure does look pretty...and I love the concept of traps in the Dungeon Deck.
Well, I'd love a chance to find out.
That and I'm out of gaming budget until October, hehe. blush
laugh

Second Game : GOSU
I know this isn't technically released in until late September, if I recall correctly...but I am really hot on card games (deck-building games specifically, and this one's similar) right now. This one looks fantastic, the rules read well and I am eager to introduce it to my group. I know it'll go over well with them, too! And that's what gaming is all about!

Thanks again and happy gaming!!!

Why? - I've always enjoyed games like this such as Axis & Allies: 1942 and Fortress America, and this one grabbed my interest because it can be played in less than two hours and plays well with 4 players. I already own Risk: Star Wars Original Trilogy Edition, but that game only plays well with 3 or 5. (This can be bought used for less than $60.)

The second game - Ra, because I don't own an auction game of any sort, and I have repeatedly heard that this is one of the best ones.

I'd like to pick Numbers League and the expansion to get my youngest back in the Math groove. He's being difficult learning his math and this would be a great way to get him back in the swing of math with a fun game.

If that didn't work out, I'd pick Catacombs because I know the disk flicking would go over really well with both boys!

I will have to piggyback on many other entries by choosing Cyclades as the number one pick. I mean, look at this game, just look! Beautiful board, and miniatures. A fairly simple ruleset and attractive theme to boot.

For the second pick, let's go with Witch's Brew. I believe this meets the $$$ requirement. I've read the rules and the game looks like an absolute hoot. I would have no trouble convincing some non gamer friends to play.

(If this game costs too much, I would instead love a copy of The Bottle Imp as I really like trick taking games with an unusual twist.

Why?:I've recently acquired some really fun, great games, that unfortunately top out at 4 players. While this works great for my core gaming group (me, my girlfriend, and my friend and his wife), the second anyone else tags along, all those great games go out the window (or worse, someone boringly sits out or we have to shoehorn in some team rules). Battlestar would be an absolutely awesome fallback in these situations as it's a great game that just gets better with a bigger group.

I can only echo everyone else's comments about your generosity: you are very kind!

I've put Dungeon Twister (new or old version, I wouldn't care either way!) for two reasons.

Firstly, one of my sons, recently turned 9, has Asperger's Syndrome and in some respects struggles to relate well to other people (essentially he by nature can't really put himself in other's shoes - although he is learning to do so as he gets older). He does really enjoy playing games however, and this is a way in which he can interact well, and has learnt to be a good sport about winning and losing. He particularly enjoys fantasy-themed games such as Dungeon,Heroscape and Talisman and often sets them up and plays by himself if no-one else is available! Having played Dungeon Twister with a friend a few months ago it seems to me that this would be ideal for him, firstly because of the theme, secondly because of the spatial aspect (which is an area of thinking where he has good skills) and because you have to try and work out what your opponent might do, which would be good practice for him. Finally, I can easily imagine him setting up different situations and seeing how he would play, as a sort of puzzle.

The second reason? The simple and obvious one that I know I'd enjoy playing it too!

And my second choice would be Aquaretto or Zooloretto, assuming they are low enough in cost - if not, then Sorry Sliders would go down well I'm sure!

How very delightful. Thank you!

My first choice is Pack and Stack. Since we're moving, and trying to stuff the contents of my future roommate's one bedroom and my bachelor apartment into one truck to drive across the country, maybe if we can do it on a small scale, it will work when we do the real thing!!

My second choice is Animal Upon Animal (Tier auf Tier). This is a colourful, refreshingly simple dexterity game that I'm sure I can get curious parties to roll the dice and stack the little wooden critters! Though, as a gateway game, I'll have to tell my roommate that those snakes are worms...

This would be a neat game to get because I love to play train games, and one that I really like that I can not find anymore is Union Pacific, and this reminds me of that, so I would like to get this game in an ode to the other.

My second choice would be 2 de Mayo because I am also a fan of games that are made like that.

Thanks for doing this.

My 1st choice is going to be a little bit selfish. I've played my FLGS' copy of Memoir '44 a few times now and absolutely loved it. It is stuck in my mind and I can't wait to play more. What makes this any more selfish than normal? My girls.

I just started building my game collection this year. I bought some of my first games before I realized I don't have allot of, old enough, people to play them with at home. So, my game purchasing focus is going to be on games the younger ones can play and still be fun for the occasional adult game. After I have acquired a few good family games I will again look at expanding my deeper two player game collection.

For my second chance choice I will provide options for you to choose for us based on your geekier geekyness. These are the games I am looking at getting for the family.

For a long time I got this game confused with some other game that I did not enjoy, so I refused to play it.
One gaming night with my wife and another couple we really enjoy their company suggested to play this game and I was confused, these couple really know how to pick their games, so I started thinking maybe I simply had bad experience first time I played the game and decided to give it a go.
When they took it out of the shelf I realized my mistake and enjoyed the game. As it turned out my wife also really loved the game, this automatically puts the game on my wish list. So a nice game with a funny story behind it (well at least for me)

My second game is Bridge Troll that I know my kids will love.

I love playing Ricochet Robots. My playing group (we are not many here) of 4 people also love it. Asteroyds seem to me like A MUST but at the moment is NON POSSIBLE MUST. I wish i'll get that game someday

My second pick would be Summoner Wars. Cause i personally love fantasy games and 2 player games even if i have no one that really cares about those 2 things that i love :S
