3rd. Price: Bonus winner

Well, this one was the hardest one for me. I had 13 entries chosen and I had this secret thing in my mind I used to search for the third winner.
I looked for three things:
1) Congrats to me and Agnes
2) Correct entry
3) Great reasoning or story

I had some trouble of deciding here, because there were so many good ones, so I was able to choose 3 best ones and from them I randomly draw the winner. I'm sorry, I'm weak, I wish I could give you all something great.

So, the winner:

As for the price, I thought here many things, but this one is like the third price, so I will make it 15$ game winner choosing, so choose well.

I hope there is no hard feelings from all the rest participants.
I can tell you that this is not my last give away, so be on the alert.

I hope all the winner now can help me to get their games as cheap as possible, somewhere near them would be best.

THANK YOU ALL FOR TAKING PART IN THIS!

Hello, hello to all.

I wasn't planning to give away any games again any time soon, because I just had one give away after I got the Love Spreader award, but now I got another award - Geek Of The Week.
And to celebrate this I decided to give away 3 games to random user here on BGG.

Las time I had 5 items I chose random, but this I thought we could do something little more different. These games I offered last time might not be what you want, so this time we do the following:

First you could thumb this list to keep this on the first page as long as possible.
Then you add here geek list item with the name of the game you wish to have. Only rule is that the game should cost less than 60$ (because I will pay the shipping too). Then write short about why you want this game. This might be just few words, but I would love to read them all. And to the end add a second game you would like, if for some reason your first choice wasn't picked as winner. I will make the first item as example for you all anyways.
The second game you add should be valued less than 30$ (again, I will pay for shipping)

Drawing: I will draw this item on the 5th of September, because this is Agnes's birthday (user LilyGirl). Drawing will be easy - use random number generator to pick two users.
1st. winner will get the game he/she listed as item.
2nd. winner will get the game he/she wrote as second choice.

Bonuses: This wouldn't be as fun without bonuses. Same bonus as last time - for every 0.5 tip to this geek list you will be added to the draw one additional time.

Bonus 2:
Who will write me best reason/story/words why he/she wants the main listed game and for some reason don't win, will get something special from me. Maybe something off her/his wish list as third winner.

Things to remember:

1. Recommend this list.
2. Add item with game in 60$ dollars, write short reason and then add second game under 30$
3. You can get additional bonus for 0.5 for tipping the list.
4. Check back with the list around 5th of September, Agnes's birthday.

Good luck.

PS! Edit: Everyone check your entries. Check that games are cheaper than the numbers I wrote before. If it is more expensive, I hope you have solution written there (like you are willing to pay for shipping), because I will not accept the offer to pay the difference to me, because the shipping is more expensive for larger and more expensive games. You can offer to pay for shipping.
Also check that you have selected only one game for 60 and 30 dollars, so total of 2 games. I will not accept a list of games to choose from. Choose now or later I will draw your name and you have there a large number of games, I will draw another winner.
Also everyone who has entered their wishes as comments, make them as geeklist items as well.
Drawing will be later today, Sunday the 5th...

What a wonderful thing you are doing here! Thanks so much!

Why Cuba? It is a game that is on my wish list and I just never seem to actually get it. While I have never played it I am quite sure from all that I have read that I would love this game.

2nd Choice Race for the Galaxy. All the talk and yet never played.

Thanks again. Good luck everyone!!

Second choice: The Kids of Carcassonne. My kids love Amazing Labyrinth, and I've been looking for that "next step" game that'd keep the idea of boardgaming alive in their minds as a recreational possibility. Just say no to yet another animated Disney movie in the VCR!

I want Catan Histories: Settlers of America – Trails to Rails because it combines two themes that hold a special meaning to me. I got into board gaming in my teen years with train games like Rail Baron and Empire Builder with a group of friends. I stopped gaming in my late teen years and early twenties until I played a game that got me back into the hobby, Catan. A Catan game with trains? Count me in!

Many months ago I saw this game in my local store, I through it looked nice but I wanted to check the comments in BGG to be sure it was a good game before spending the money for it. After reading the comments and reviews I through "okay I'll buy it!!" Then I went to the shop just next day but the game was already sold. I through well no problem I'll buy a copy when they have it again. Since then I go every now and then to the gaming shop and cyclades is never there or if they have received it they had received just 1 copy and sold it already...

Now many months later I still don't have the game and I'm beggining to think that I should just command it or otherwise I will not have it

Ghost Stories: White Moon : I love Ghost Stories very much but it's not getting anymore that often in the table because we have already played many times, so I should get the expansion to keep my groups attention

Truly an awesome gesture!!

My first: Founding Fathers

Why: This looks like it would alot of fun for my wife and I to play. Following that, she often takes my (*cough* - Our) games to her work where she plays them with children and teens with special needs. She manages the children and youth program there and has set up a History club, taking the kids to somewhat local areas of history (Mount Vernon, Independence Hall, Harper's Ferry, etc). In any case, this would be the IDEAL game to play with them, mostly due to the US history and comments listed on each card.

My second choice: Thunderstone. Because Im ready for a new twist to Dominion style gaming.

First pick Any Heroscape squad/hero with his card, appeared after Wave 2, no matter if new, used, dead or alive.
Why?
1) Because HS is a great game, which my sons want to play with me more times than what we can (i don't have the room to keep a map ready, so setting time is long),
2) because i'll play it with my friends everytime and because my son plays it with his friends (which comes here just to play it)
3) because Hasbro ceased to translate and import in Italy any HS stuff after wave 2... sigh

Second pick A paid ticket at RPGNOW.
Why? Because i love "indie" games, i like paper minis, and i think is way simpler than shipping a box overseas.

Man, i envy you generosity. As i buy things i'm sure i like, i become very gealous about my games, my instruments, and all my objects, to the point to be not able to put them in the garbage when they broke modest
So, many, many thanks for this geeklist.

First game
Settlers of Catan
I am "that guy". I have never played this game. Everyone else I know has. My reason for wanting this game is two-fold:
1) I no longer want to be "that guy" on game night at the FLGS
2) My wife actually thought this might be okay to try (She only likes Scrabble and Sorry!).

Second game
Road Kill Rally

I played Car Wars when I was younger ( a lot younger) and loved it. My 11 year old found this game and really, really, please oh please, I'll wash the car and do the dishes and take out the trash and play with my 3 year old brother without complaining, wants it.

I think it looks fun too.

Thank you for doing this. This is why I enjoy BGG so much.

Why?: Because my son and I love it - I just haven't had the funds to get it yet. We've played it a few times at a friend's house, and always had a blast. On the way home, it's usually the game we discuss. Aaron (my son) has won more times than me - actually, to be honest, I just logged my first win last week, but I even enjoy the losses.

First place: I'd like Thunderstone plus expansion, Wrath of the elements (46 total at coolstuffinc.com)

Second place: Ok, fine, how bout just Thunderstone, then

Cheers,

David

Thank you for your generosity to your fellow gaming geeks. And congratulations on your GOTW status.

I'm a long time gamer, but fairly new to BGG. What an awesome community.

My first choice: Colosseum. I've played this once at our FLGS with my sons. Though I didn't win, it was great fun to see who could put on the best show.

Second choice: Mediterranean Theater - an expansion to Memoir '44. M'44 is my favorite game. A card-driven game that includes dice, and a fair amount of decision-making all in a pretty fast game combine to make an extremely rewarding game even when I don't win.

As you can see, I am a huge fan of games from Days of Wonder!

Take care, and thanks again.

That's amazingly generous of you to do!

Why: I would love to try one of the Graxia games. The art looks great, the gameplay sounds interesting. We came really, really close to getting one last week...but got too nervous at the last moment. Blind buys often go wrong, and there's not much info. But...cool fantasy theme! Ahh!

So this would be a fantastic thing to get, as I really want to try it but am hesitant to buy it.

So, obviously, the second choice would be Heroes of Graxia!

First off, this is awesome and happy birthday Agnes. Perhaps we will see some shots of you holding the winning games.

Now, on to my first choice. Road Kill Rally.

I've played Formula De and said "Who doesn't think racing an F1 car isn't as much fun without a rocket launcher tied to the spoiler?"

I've played Rush n' Crush and exclaimed "This needs more obstacles, like pedestrians."

I've played Powerboats and asked "Where are the James Bond torpedos?"

I've played Detroit-Cleveland Grand Prix and thought "I had more red cards than I thought..."

And as I see Road Kill Rally get released and I sit here wondering "Why do I not own this game yet?"

Hopefully, I'll win and be able to answer that last one. Did I mention that the box cover also compliments Agnes' eyes?

As a second choice, Airships. I bought a copy a few years ago and had to part company against my wishes. One of my friends abhors the game and I've mentioned combining it to make games like Zombie Airships, Airships of Catan, and Boggle Airships. Hard to do if I don't actually own it...

Edit: Wait! Wait! Is it too late to change my second choice? I forgot I was going to try and get you to send me a copy of Draco (Which I still want but it may be a couple weeks before I can...)

Thanks for the generosity!

I'm hoping for Genoa to mark the arrival of our second son, due to be born on September 5, which is the birthday of our first son and perhaps another special someone related to this Geeklist. My wife loves the trading aspect of Settlers of Catan, but we've done that to death. Genoa seems like it would scratch that itch more than anything else I've run across.

Second place: Lost Cities. Great for 2 players (allegedly, I've never played) which might be all we can do for a bit with the boys and my job and education!

When I was in highschool, I used to go to the library to look at things on Ebay. I told them that I was there to do a research paper on the Napoleonic wars for history class, though (like we had to write papers for history . . . ) So, I would always have windows open in the background with historical stuff. I started actually reading it, though, and before long I went to the library to read about the Napoleonic wars (and look at things on Ebay.) Years ago I could have talked about important battles and dates and things like that, but I've forgotten most of the details. (Though, I've read more about the naval side of it recently, so I know more about that!)

Anyway, I really want to play some good Napoleonic games. I just got Battles of Napoleon, which seems like it will be a really good smaller tactical game. I'd really like 1805: Sea of Glory, as a strategic naval game, Age of Napoleon as a strategic continental game, and this--Napoleon's Triumph-- as a bigger battle game. I have heard really good reviews of this game, and it seems very innovative and very, very interesting.

Thanks for such a great opportunity! It's really nice to see people doing good things for one another!

(For a smaller game, I'd really like to give Macao a go!)

Simply because I really want to try this one but I know I'll never pay for it.

On second smaller choice would be: Macao.

This is very generous of you thank you so much for the opportunity. Also, congrats on being named GW!! On to why I've selected Imperial. I've played this game a couple of times on BSW and I really enjoyed. I think that the guys I game with would find this game interesting. The way each county can be owned by someone different is a game mechanic we don't have in our collection.

My second selection would be Thurn and Taxis. Ever since I got back into gaming last year I've wanted to play this one. I've heard it's a good game and I think it will be a game the guys would all enjoy.

Throughout my trouble youth, I carried a terrible secret- I adored the masons, I cheered Skeletor, I even cried a little bit when Vader threw the Emperor down the shaft. My parents tried everything, even cloistering me away in my room, but in the end it was to no avail, and they had to accept me as I was.

I am a man who secretly harbours a fetish for hooded men with secrets.

I shudder with pre-orgasmic thrills every time I sip on a delicious Duvel or Chimay, because I'm thinking of all those silent tonsured men.
I remember, while other kids were stealing copies of the sports illustrated swimsuit edition, or rifling through their dad's playboy shoebox, I had my tattered William Weaver translation of Umberto Eco's hooded kama sutra, The Name of the Rose, to be perused in secluded, shaded corners.

Imagine the furtive sexual thrill I'll get if I get this game and play with my un-knowing friends! It will be like a matins in my pants, and everyone's initiated!

Well, if not, I'll just be forced into a hermit-like seclusion, alone and bitter, on my little piece of 2nd choice land, my Forbbiden Island- where I'll while away wistful days, dreaming of my erotic monk dreams.
