3rd. Price: Bonus winner

Well, this one was the hardest one for me. I had 13 entries chosen and I had this secret thing in my mind I used to search for the third winner.
I looked for three things:
1) Congrats to me and Agnes
2) Correct entry
3) Great reasoning or story

I had some trouble of deciding here, because there were so many good ones, so I was able to choose 3 best ones and from them I randomly draw the winner. I'm sorry, I'm weak, I wish I could give you all something great.

So, the winner:

As for the price, I thought here many things, but this one is like the third price, so I will make it 15$ game winner choosing, so choose well.

I hope there is no hard feelings from all the rest participants.
I can tell you that this is not my last give away, so be on the alert.

I hope all the winner now can help me to get their games as cheap as possible, somewhere near them would be best.

THANK YOU ALL FOR TAKING PART IN THIS!

Hello, hello to all.

I wasn't planning to give away any games again any time soon, because I just had one give away after I got the Love Spreader award, but now I got another award - Geek Of The Week.
And to celebrate this I decided to give away 3 games to random user here on BGG.

Las time I had 5 items I chose random, but this I thought we could do something little more different. These games I offered last time might not be what you want, so this time we do the following:

First you could thumb this list to keep this on the first page as long as possible.
Then you add here geek list item with the name of the game you wish to have. Only rule is that the game should cost less than 60$ (because I will pay the shipping too). Then write short about why you want this game. This might be just few words, but I would love to read them all. And to the end add a second game you would like, if for some reason your first choice wasn't picked as winner. I will make the first item as example for you all anyways.
The second game you add should be valued less than 30$ (again, I will pay for shipping)

Drawing: I will draw this item on the 5th of September, because this is Agnes's birthday (user LilyGirl). Drawing will be easy - use random number generator to pick two users.
1st. winner will get the game he/she listed as item.
2nd. winner will get the game he/she wrote as second choice.

Bonuses: This wouldn't be as fun without bonuses. Same bonus as last time - for every 0.5 tip to this geek list you will be added to the draw one additional time.

Bonus 2:
Who will write me best reason/story/words why he/she wants the main listed game and for some reason don't win, will get something special from me. Maybe something off her/his wish list as third winner.

Things to remember:

1. Recommend this list.
2. Add item with game in 60$ dollars, write short reason and then add second game under 30$
3. You can get additional bonus for 0.5 for tipping the list.
4. Check back with the list around 5th of September, Agnes's birthday.

Good luck.

PS! Edit: Everyone check your entries. Check that games are cheaper than the numbers I wrote before. If it is more expensive, I hope you have solution written there (like you are willing to pay for shipping), because I will not accept the offer to pay the difference to me, because the shipping is more expensive for larger and more expensive games. You can offer to pay for shipping.
Also check that you have selected only one game for 60 and 30 dollars, so total of 2 games. I will not accept a list of games to choose from. Choose now or later I will draw your name and you have there a large number of games, I will draw another winner.
Also everyone who has entered their wishes as comments, make them as geeklist items as well.
Drawing will be later today, Sunday the 5th...

First of all thank you even for the opportunity . Great respect to you.
Basically all my choices are based on the fact that I ususally play board games with my wife, so my number one would be Twilight Struggle. I've heard so much about this game and I'm really interested in it because of its complexity.
My second choice would be Jambo because it is again a 2-player game and has a funny theme (Swahili traders competing , so it would be nice to play this now and then.

Why?

Because the theme really appeals to me. The idea of mixing colours and painting a giant fresco all sounds really good to me. I would have liked it to have won the SdJ this year but alas it was beaten by.

Second Choice.

Dixit, my number second choice. It's the SdJ winner and I really enjoyed the only time I gave it a try.

Thanks for doing this list.

Firstly, congratulations on getting both LSotW and GotW so close together!

There's some expensive games on my wishlist but I don't want to stretch your generosity, so I've chosen budget-friendly (relatively speaking) entries.

Why? Because Finnish-language games don't get enough love on BGG. Somebody should contribute some photos of this one.

Also, shipping parcels overseas out of Finland is ridiculously expensive; whether one might get better rates physically picking it up in Finland then shipping out of Estonia (aside from the cost of transporting oneself to and from there) is something worth investigating. After all, if booze is cheaper in Estonia than in Finland, maybe it's the same for postal services?

Second pick: Forbidden Island. For some reason I haven't yet seen this at the few nearby game shops that I frequent.

I love games that have an immersive theme and interesting machanics. Android seems to match both criteria. Moreover, back in the day I was a big fan of Isaac Asimov's novels and it has been one of my long-term projects to go back and re-read the whole foundation cycle. Android's theme seems to catch the spirit of Asimov's SF pretty well (probably with a strong influence by P.K. Dick as well). I would therefore love to add it to my collection.

As 2nd choice I'd nominate the Race for the Galaxy expansion Race for the Galaxy: The Brink of War. Race has been a frequent 2player filler for me and after having played the latest expansion at a friend's place I think that by adding BoW the whole game is really taken to a new and final level.

Thanks for setting up this geeklist!

Secondly, I'd go for Lost Cities. A 2 player KOSMOS series game that I think my wife would enjoy.

Thanks!

Amazing offer and congrats on your week in the spotlight.

Why? I had my eye on this game for a while and missed a special sale on it at my FLGS because I was tied up at a work meeting. I played it at GenCon (but only a partial as I had to get back tot eh event I was running) and have been thinking about it ever since. My wife finished the game for me that day and "we" won. She liked it but has been luke warm on lettin gme buy it because we have too many worker placement games as it is. But I think it is my favorite genre so I don't mind.

As to my second choice, I would take 2 de Mayo. I love all things Spain as I spent a year there as an exchange student. Plus it is a 2-player game which is something we like to have available. With the baby, we don't seem to plan as many game nights with our friends any more. (I think this is under $30 as all the online game stores have it for a little over $20, but I might be mistaken)

Wow! What a generous offer! Thank you!!

Well, the choices I made were due in part as my job as a tutor. I love teaching and I love the joys of seeing my students excel and grow as an individual. The games that I have chosen are used in my gaming sessions where I get my students to enjoy with me instead of engaging in activities like getting drunk at night clubs. I like teaching in a different perspective. I like to be a mentor and help to excel not only in studies but as a person.

1st game:

Animal Upon Animal. Why? This game is a ice breaker for me as I get to engage my students to be more proactive and outgoing. The education system has caused many of them to be very introverted and quiet. I would on the other hand like them to be more engaging and proactive. Having a game of laughs and dizzying heights will definitely interest them.

2nd game:

Timber Tom. Why? This game is all about strategy but not too complex. I do not want to scare my students, but rather to slowly get them to feel how the games are like and grow to love gaming. Board gaming is not just the old Monopoly, rise and wash routine but more of a social and networking avenue. It helps to engage your brain cells as well as increase your level of intellectual thinking.

Wishing Agnes A Happy Birthday!

Why? Spending time with those we love is why we game. My kids love games and they would love to try this one.

Second Game Dancing Eggs

Why? One of my kids favorite activities is family dance time. It consists of playing songs (usually 80s new wave) on the stereo and dancing around the living room. While neither my kids nor I are great dancers, it is a blast and we all have fun. While the game may not involve dancing it would involve me awkwardly contorting myself for my children's amusement - very similar to family dance time.

My wife and I are just starting our journey into the board game world. We have Arkham Horror (along with Dunwich Horror & Innsmouth Horror). I think we would both enjoy this game quite a bit. Likewise, we're also introducing a LOT of friends (20+) to the world of board gaming. I think this game would be a big hit.

For the second game, I'd love to receive Pandemic. The game is a touch over $30 and I'd be more than willing to cover the difference. Again, I'm trying to find games that my wife and I could both enjoy with our friends. I think this would be another major hit

Even if I don't win either, thank you a TON for the opportunity. I appreciate it.

Thank you for this opportunity-you are really too kind to random people here on the geek. I hope what I have selected is within the price range (I'm not yet a game buyer and am used to seeing prices in Australia dollars-if the amount is over, let me know and I'd be happy to conver any difference and shipping).

My first choice is Cosmic Encounter. Out of the games I've had an immediate positive reaction to, this is one that my normal gaming friends and the gaming association I belong to does not have. The numerous alien powers allows for great replayability. The need to talk, cajole and persuade the other players makes for a wonderfully interactive (if sometimes noisy) game. The chance and constant possibility of being stabbed in the back and that your backstabber next turn is your most important ally would be great with some of the friends I play with.

It is a game that I have really enjoyed, does not get played much given its lack of availability and would be a chance for this game to be better known amongst my normal gaming friends and the association.

My second choice is Dixit. It's a different type of game with beautiful artwork and utalises a different part of the brain than other traditional Euro board games. My family and most of my friends are not gamers, and this would be an excellent game to introduce them to board games that are not Monopoly or Scrabble. They would be more receptive to a game that is less heavy than the 4.5 hour Arkham Horror games I enthusiastically describe. In addition, I have many great memories playing this game the friends (now moved interstate) who owned and introduced me to it; this included (memorably) loudly singing a dramatic line from a song as a clue, temporarily bringing the bustle of a loud room down in surprise.

When I look for game, theme sells it most of the time. Though I've never played it, this game makes my blood boil: the horror that is Dracula, the chilly atmosphere of old Europe, the excitement of the Hunt - paired with a gloomy, full-moon night and some creepy music - this will become a favourite. Also, it has some cool dice, and I'm a sucker for dice.

Unfortunately, this game is nowhere to be found where i live

My second pick is Aye, Dark Overlord!. I have just a perfect group of roleplayers who all enjoy being evil Overlords, but would also have large amount of fun playing as measly goblins.

1st pick would be Tide of Iron because I don't have a WW II game in my collection and this seems to be a good candidate to fill the spot.

2nd pick would be Mr Jack in New York since it's extremely fun game.

Thanks!

Congrats for being geek of the week, and thanks for the giveaway.

First choice:Mystery Express

Why: I live in a country where board games are not well known, and has more than 20 years that the only famous board games are brazilian versions from risk, monopoly, game of life and clue. So everyone knows how to play and it has no more fun. At the beginning of this year i've discovered BGG and all these games. I was thrilled with the variety of games and themes. So i've started to buying some. Now my family and friends enjoyed it and always want to play, but here we have a problem, language dependence. So i need to buy easy and funny games to play (citadels and bang! everyone loves to play because it's easy to learn, funny and fast), and Mystery Express is that game. Now every time we meet they ask for my games and that is a very good sensation.

Second choice:It's Alive!

Why:Again the reason is my family, friends, fun and no language dependence.

Why: because I played it two times last year and I loved it !
As simple as Downfall of Pompeï, with beautiful components.

Second game:
Memoir '44: Mediterranean Theater
Because I love M44, and I don't have this expension.

Why? Simply put, I'm not a big fan of Euros, usually going for the Ameritrash. Valdora just grabbed me, and that was after a game of Hansa Teutonica bored me to tears (yeah, doesn't make sense to me either).

Second choice: Forbidden Island, because nobody had it when I put my last order in, and now it's flooding the shelves, taunting me.

Not much of a story, so here's a song instead. It's to the tune of "Highway Star," so the Youtube video is the karaoke version of the song. I take no responsibility for any weird looks any of you might get for actually singing along.

EDIT: If the video isn't showing up, here's a direct link:

Nobody gonna grab my gold, gonna take it from the ground
Nobody gonna get my bag, I'm buying it next round
Oooh it's the donkey card, can hold anything
Like red or blue, purple, red, or even green

I love it and I need it
Versatile
Yeah, it's a big advantage
Big yoink get points
Playing Valdora

Nobody gonna get that card, a commission for the white
Nobody gonna get those points, they're gonna be mine tonight
Oooh, worth fifteen points, that's a hell of a lot
And a craftsman too, leaving the others all distraught

I love it and I need it
Big bonus
Yeah I'm in the lead
Big yoink get points
Playing Valdora

Musical break

Nobody gonna get that gem, it's the blue one that I need
Nobody gonna get it now, without rations for speed
Ooh, went broke with that, need to hit the mine
Back up to full silver, makes me feel so fine

I love it and I need it
Buying stuff
These points are all mine
Big yoink get points
Playing Valdora

Musical break

Nobody gonna take my lead, I've got gems and points galore
Nobody gonna beat me now, 'cause I'm gonna go for more
Oooh, got the red workshop, more points for me
And that ends the game, let's total up and see

I won it and I knew it
Win for me
Victory all mine
Big yoink got points
Playing Valdora

1. I am hoping for a copy of the new Sid Meier's Civilization, whenever it comes out!

I want to get this game for my wife, SuperFish.

The last bunch of games I've been getting are monster laden, combat-havin, boy-junk and she never complains about having to play them. This is something she would enjoy playing.

2. The second game is also for my wife. Alhambra the Card Game.

Also, if I win a copy of Civ for my wife I will purchase the number 2 game of another entry on this list for that user. Keeping the goodness going forward!

Thanks so much for this contest!

Thank you for the offer, Raiko!

First Game: Shadows over Camelot

I played this for the first time recently with a group of six people: five newbs and one guy who had played before. Turns out that the "pro" was the traitor... but he didn't have to do much, as the game itself was merciless against us! Great fun, though... I look forward to playing again!

Second Game: Starship Catan

After the Shadows Over Camelot game, the "traitor" (above) played Starship Catan with me. Although I was a newb at this game as well, I managed to trail by only a victory point or two the entire game... until the very end, when I managed to snatch a colony and a bonus victory point away from my opponent, giving me the win.
