Welcome everyone to the September 2010 Edition of the Geekgold for Game Lottery, and in this case the first edition with a list dedicated to videogames. Thanks Blott for the amazing Idea and thanks everyone who is with us so far.

Sorry for taking so long (10 days after the normal timeline) to put the new list up. I wanted to finish some new coding on the Lottery tool, but in the end decided to release before that. As you all now since last month, this is the begin of separate listings for this entries. As of now and going forwards, the lists for Board Games, Video Games and RPGs will be separate over the domains. This list concern Board Games only.

On the bottom of the post you will find a link to the other lists. Expect some more announcements on this upcoming weeks as I change some stuff on the Tool, and on the subscription threads.

These are the Rules

How to bid for an item?
If you see an item on this geeklist that you're interested in owning:
1. It couldn't be more simple. Just tip that entry 1 and you are entered to win that game.
2. Check the description to see if you are allowed more than one entry on the item.

How to put an item on the lottery?
If you have a game that you're willing to part with for a little geekgold:
1. Post it as an item on the list.
2. Include a full description of the edition that you have and its condition. Be very clear on conditions, marks and box
3. Specify if you will be limited in shipping options. If you ship internationally, if the shipping is on you, and if so how much.
4. Specify when your item will close for entries.
5. You can post Board Games and Board Games related items only
6. The item must be draw before 30th of September 2010
7. For board games, contact me before adding homemade versions of non-Print and Play games.

What to do when the lottery ends?
1. When closed, draw a random name from those that have tipped your entry. If you allowed multiple entries remember to take it in consideration.
2. Contact that person and arrange shipment of the game.
3. Send them the game.
4. Edit your geeklist item on this list with a note saying that "THIS ITEM IS CLOSED!" and to put the avatar of the winner, use the code [ username=name_of_winner] (without the space) for that.
5. When an item is closed I will move it to the bottom of the list. Please don't delete them

How to find the winner?
You can use any fair method you like, like putting the names on a hat and drawing it. But there are two favored methods.

1. First we have the Original Awesome Tool. Created by jeromier. It is very simple to use, but can only deal with one type of bonus (X bonus GG for each Y GG tipped) and limit the amount of tip.

2. Second we have the Copycat Awesome Tool created by yours truly. It can deal with any amount of items drawn on your listing, and any kind of bonus calculation that deals with the tip values only (and a few others). The rolls are trackable for anyone to see, and you can use it anytime to check how many tips and the winning percentage of everyone. It has a few statistics which I'm improving on. The only thing is that for an item to use it, it must be inserted by me, and that takes about 1 or 2 days, usually.

Concerning items that you published yourself

Regarding the current discussion that was held on the Geek forums about unauthorized promotional of items by publisher. After discussing the matter with Aldie, we come to the conclusion that most entries that were done in that regarding into the Games for GeekGold Lotteries were fine and did not violate the guidelines. In any case, I ask you to please contact me before posting any such item. And send me the wording you intend for the entry.

Some requests and guidelines
When Blott created this list in September 2009, and when I took over in October 2009, neither of us had an idea it would become this big. And with bigger lists comes bigger responsibilities, and sometimes new rules must be put in place to help with the good flowing of the list. The rules on this section are meant to be guidelines to help we have a better environment. Some people did note about them on the banter thread, but I'm suffering with it to as I have to scan the list to check changes that can't be done automatically. So please, try to follow all of it.

1. Don't update more than once a day;
2. Editing for the sake of trying to attract people is bad behavior. Doing it everyday (countdown to draw) is even worst. When an entry is updated I go check it to see if I have to change anything on the tool entry for it, and when there are half the items with updates, that can be a bit difficult;
3. The sweet spot for tips, save rare occurrences is 15-20days. That means that after 20 days, few tips will get to your entry. mostly from people who are getting more and adding, but few new entrees.

Special notes
Special Note #1: If you are giving an item, there is no guarantee for number of entrants. You must be prepared to give away your game even if you only receive a single geekgold entry. Do not enter a game unless you are prepared for that outcome!!

Special Note #2: If for any reason you are forced to withdraw a game you offered, you must refund all geekgold tipped to your entry.

This is for a used copy of Car Wars: The Card Game. The cards are still in excellent condition with some normal play-wear. They are still smooth and don't stick together.

1 geekgold = 1 entry
5 geekgold = 6 entries

Shipping is free in North America. If the winner is outside the continent, send me a GeekMail and we can discuss shipping (I know some people prefer different methods, some more costly than others).

If this reaches 100 geekgold then shipping is free world wide!

If this reaches 200 geekgold then I will throw in my copy of Battle Cattle: The Card Game for the winner! It is another card game that can be played standalone or with this game.

The winner will be picked using Sol's Copycat Awesome tool on September 25th.

(I'm new at this so be gentle if I missed a detail!)

Edit: Added free shipping clause

Item:
This drawing is for a "Deck of Dice" from Artscow. 36 cards. I will also include the plastic storage box.

Here's a picture of it:

I originally planned to print 2 decks -- one for my "Big Valuable Box of Stuff", my portable gaming kit; and one for my Settlers of Catan game. Well 2 * 54 = 3 * 36, so I wound up printing three decks. This one sat in the corner of my game closet, unplayed and unloved for about a year. Give these wonderful cards a home!

Entry:
1 per ticket. That simple. Buy as many as you want. I'm not doing any "bonus tickets", because I want people with lower amounts of like myself to have an even chance.

Shipping:
Free worldwide.

Drawing closes Sunday, September 12

WHAT? This is an auction for the Spielbox expansion to A La Carte. It is straight out of the magazine, and still in its shrink.

WHERE?
I will ship this worldwide, at no cost to you, whatsoever.

WHEN?
These Spielbox thingys seem to be quite popular, so I will put my end date at 15 Sep 10 (time dependent on work schedule) to give someone else time to list another after me.

ENTRIES?

1 = 1 Entry
5 = 6 Entries
1,000bag = 2000 Entries. Here's dreaming...

Best of luck to you all.

I don't intend to chop up the magazine to give you the original copy of the rules, but I will make a colour photocopy for you.

EDIT I forgot the HOW? - The copycat tool is the tool of choice.

N/A

Congratulations!!!!

The giant is in great condition. The contents are unopened (cards etc.) though the package may have been (it just has plastic tabs.) There is a piece of tape on each side holding it shut. One side, the tape is opened. There was a slight bit of dust on the package from sitting on my shelf. I wiped that off. I can provide more dust at an extra cost if desired.

For all intensive purposes, it looks like it is in perfect shape. I asked the giant if there was anything wrong with him. Thankfully, he didn't respond, so he must be fine.

The drawing will happen on the September 30th - at approx. 9 pm PST

I will be using Sol's tool. No Maximum number of entries.

1 = 1 entry
5 = 6 entries
10 = 13 entries

Bonuses:
If the total gets to:
1 Free shipping to 48 states
2 Free shipping to North America
3 Free shipping world wide

Do you think it will get there?
*Edit* I had a couple questions about the shipping. I did mean to say 1,2,3. This has now qualified for free shipping world wide and you made it happen! *

If it gets to 500 I will throw in some other gaming related item that none of us may care about.

If it gets to 1000 I will throw some other gaming item that I am SURE none of us care about. How can you pass that up?

Thanks all and good luck!

Chez Geek is in good condition. Opened, I count 112 cards and rulebook.

Straw: Still in Shrinkwrap

Wucherer: Complete, good condition (appears unplayed), German language, but includes a copy of the English translation.

Dungeoneer VoF: Good condition, some wear on corners, Looks to be complete (number of cards matches the total, but I can't identify the various types of cards, as I've never played it).

Mad: Well-worn copy, some creases, dinged corners, but structurally sound. Complete, but well-played game.

Games are in English except where noted. I received them all in a Math Trade and haven't played them. (That isn't to say they are all unplayed.)

Condition:

This is for an ArtsCow deck of the cards for the game. There were a lot of complaints about the cards for the game. My boyfriend had me create a deck to replace the one for the original game, so we could tell which cards meld easier. We ordered both, and this is for the edition pictured. Cards were printed from ArtsCow, and come in two plastic hard cases. I'll include a red meeple which you can also use as a replacement car token. Included is also a card to mark each location so you can tell which color matches each location for ease of play. See rules (can be found online) for more, or contact me for more details.

(My 1st G4GG posting, so please notify me if I am forgetting something...)

Description
Almost complete & unused copy of Warhammer: Invasion, missing only the box and the original rules (can provide copy, if desired).

Condition
All tokens have been punched out, and put in resealable plastic bags, and all cards have been put in soft-sleeves. All four capital boards are also in excellent condition.

Entry Cost
Well, it seems to be standard to offer bonuses to big investors, but I like also to think of the little investors. Therefore, I will go for:
1 = 1 entry
5 = 5 entries + 1 entry to extra items [see below]

Shipping
Shipping is by default free for Canada, and will be free for USA if this item reaches 100bag *CHECK*, for Europe if we manage to get to 200bag *CHECK*, and for the rest of the world if this item would reach 400 bag *CHECK*.

Drawing Winner(s)
I will draw a winner on the weekend of Sept. 25/26, 2010, either by using Sol's Awesome Copycat Tool method (if I can figure it out) *CHECK* or else by dice rolling, random name drawing or another 'old-fashioned method' (suggestions welcome).

Extra items, you mentioned?
Yes, in addition, I also have these on offer:
Warhammer Invasion - The Skavenblight Threat (TST) - sorry, no box

Warhammer Invasion - Path of the Zealot (PotZ) - box available, if desired

Warhammer Invasion - Tooth and Claw (TaC) - box available, if desired

For all three of these, the cards have not been played, and put in soft sleeves after opening. (Note: battle pack boxes will only fit unsleeved cards!)

So, basically, whenever you offer 5 or more, you will get one or more entries for:

- TST only: If this item would not reach 100bag *N/A*
- TST+PotZ: If we manage to get to 100bag *CHECK*,
- All 3: If this item reaches 200bag *CHECK*

Happy bidding, and yes, please post your comments if you have any feedback/questions regarding this listing.

TIPPING CLOSED ON SEPT. 26 AT 20:24 EST

Catan plastic cities, 16 in total (4 each of orange, blue, white and red). This is the bottom right part on the picture. Ideal if you're missing a few or use them for other games such as is shown on the alternative picture (see below). You could nicely use them for War of the Ring as strongholds.

Alternative picture: 607840 (though this shows them with city walls which aren't included here!)

Congratulations

What: The GERMAN VERSION of Le Havre. This game is brand new, the box has been opened, but all cards are still wrapped and counters are unpunched and never played. The box corners are a tiny bit worn from normal packaging and there is one small indentation on the box cover just under the words Le Havre (a slight pressed crease...probably occurred during shipping).

Where: At 50 FREE shipping in Canada/US
At 150 FREE shipping Worldwide

When: Drawing will happen on the 18th of September 2010.
The game will be mailed to the winner on the 20th of September 2010.

Up for grabs: A set of my Dominion dividers that I recently designed and you can see in action in the picture on the left and can be downloaded here: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/filepage/58298/reiss-dominion-t...

I will print them on cardstock and cut them out for you.

Winner chooses whether he or she wants plain white dividers (which I like best!) or if he or she would like the FAQ text on the card itself (I am still working on adding this and so this is not yet available on the geek now available! See below.).

If this gets to 25 then the winner will also get to choose whether he or she wants the tabs made double-sided. I will print the double-sided conversion kit (also not yet uploaded to the geek Now available! See below.) and use this to send you complete double-sided tabs for your custom Dominion storage.

Winner also specifies what sets they want printed. I will happily make tabs for every set and every card (and would even take reasonable requests for customized tabs), but would prefer not to do extra work just for the sake of it.

1 = 1 chance
5 = 6 chances

Shipping is free to the U.S. and Canada. I prefer to ship only to the U.S. and Canada but can look into international shipping if someone wants.

Winner will be chosen with Sol's tool or Random.org if I can't figure out how to use Sol's tool.

edit: Hey, it passed 25 !

Anyhow, edited to add that I'll draw sometime on September 24th. Why? Why not?

Congrats, Blademaster777! Send me a geekmail when you get a chance answering the following questions:

1) What sets do you want printed? Choices are "All" or one or more of: Base, Intrigue, Seaside, Alchemy, Prosperity, Promos.

2) Do you want the FAQ text printed on the dividers?

3) Do you want these made double-sided? Note this will thicken the tabbed part of the dividers.

Also since this is going to Australia (ooh exciting) we'll work out something fair for shipping. If it's not too much I'll just cover it myself, but I've never shipped to Australia before!

Congratulations again and thanks to all who entered!
