Welcome everyone to the September 2010 Edition of the Geekgold for Game Lottery, and in this case the first edition with a list dedicated to videogames. Thanks Blott for the amazing Idea and thanks everyone who is with us so far.

Sorry for taking so long (10 days after the normal timeline) to put the new list up. I wanted to finish some new coding on the Lottery tool, but in the end decided to release before that. As you all now since last month, this is the begin of separate listings for this entries. As of now and going forwards, the lists for Board Games, Video Games and RPGs will be separate over the domains. This list concern Board Games only.

On the bottom of the post you will find a link to the other lists. Expect some more announcements on this upcoming weeks as I change some stuff on the Tool, and on the subscription threads.

These are the Rules

How to bid for an item?
If you see an item on this geeklist that you're interested in owning:
1. It couldn't be more simple. Just tip that entry 1 and you are entered to win that game.
2. Check the description to see if you are allowed more than one entry on the item.

How to put an item on the lottery?
If you have a game that you're willing to part with for a little geekgold:
1. Post it as an item on the list.
2. Include a full description of the edition that you have and its condition. Be very clear on conditions, marks and box
3. Specify if you will be limited in shipping options. If you ship internationally, if the shipping is on you, and if so how much.
4. Specify when your item will close for entries.
5. You can post Board Games and Board Games related items only
6. The item must be draw before 30th of September 2010
7. For board games, contact me before adding homemade versions of non-Print and Play games.

What to do when the lottery ends?
1. When closed, draw a random name from those that have tipped your entry. If you allowed multiple entries remember to take it in consideration.
2. Contact that person and arrange shipment of the game.
3. Send them the game.
4. Edit your geeklist item on this list with a note saying that "THIS ITEM IS CLOSED!" and to put the avatar of the winner, use the code [ username=name_of_winner] (without the space) for that.
5. When an item is closed I will move it to the bottom of the list. Please don't delete them

How to find the winner?
You can use any fair method you like, like putting the names on a hat and drawing it. But there are two favored methods.

1. First we have the Original Awesome Tool. Created by jeromier. It is very simple to use, but can only deal with one type of bonus (X bonus GG for each Y GG tipped) and limit the amount of tip.

2. Second we have the Copycat Awesome Tool created by yours truly. It can deal with any amount of items drawn on your listing, and any kind of bonus calculation that deals with the tip values only (and a few others). The rolls are trackable for anyone to see, and you can use it anytime to check how many tips and the winning percentage of everyone. It has a few statistics which I'm improving on. The only thing is that for an item to use it, it must be inserted by me, and that takes about 1 or 2 days, usually.

Concerning items that you published yourself

Regarding the current discussion that was held on the Geek forums about unauthorized promotional of items by publisher. After discussing the matter with Aldie, we come to the conclusion that most entries that were done in that regarding into the Games for GeekGold Lotteries were fine and did not violate the guidelines. In any case, I ask you to please contact me before posting any such item. And send me the wording you intend for the entry.

Some requests and guidelines
When Blott created this list in September 2009, and when I took over in October 2009, neither of us had an idea it would become this big. And with bigger lists comes bigger responsibilities, and sometimes new rules must be put in place to help with the good flowing of the list. The rules on this section are meant to be guidelines to help we have a better environment. Some people did note about them on the banter thread, but I'm suffering with it to as I have to scan the list to check changes that can't be done automatically. So please, try to follow all of it.

1. Don't update more than once a day;
2. Editing for the sake of trying to attract people is bad behavior. Doing it everyday (countdown to draw) is even worst. When an entry is updated I go check it to see if I have to change anything on the tool entry for it, and when there are half the items with updates, that can be a bit difficult;
3. The sweet spot for tips, save rare occurrences is 15-20days. That means that after 20 days, few tips will get to your entry. mostly from people who are getting more and adding, but few new entrees.

Special notes
Special Note #1: If you are giving an item, there is no guarantee for number of entrants. You must be prepared to give away your game even if you only receive a single geekgold entry. Do not enter a game unless you are prepared for that outcome!!

Special Note #2: If for any reason you are forced to withdraw a game you offered, you must refund all geekgold tipped to your entry.

ITEM CLOSED

Not for the board game!

This auction is for 11 pages of mission sheets torn from White Dwarf many years ago!

The item is as follows:

"Genestealer Invasion"
2 double sided pages with three missions called Ambush!, Regroup, and Hammer & Anvil.

"Necromunda Campaign"
A Space Hulk Campaign on 9 double sided pages. Full campaign rules and the following missions; First Blood, No Way Out, Killing Ground, Interrogation, Divide & Conquer, Poison. Finally a single sheet with 2 map tiles, auto fire markers and Nerve Gas counters to mount and cut out. The map tiles are both a room of 2x2 with a single entrace, sort of a dead end.

The pages are in good condition except that they are yellowed with age and that when I ripped them out of White Dwarf I was none too careful. None of the text is affected but the page edge is rough.

1 = 1 entry
5 = 6 entries

Winner will be picked using Sol's tool on Friday 24th September 2010. Free Shipping worldwide and shipped in a Do Not Bend envelope.

Thanks, and good luck!

- At 50 I'll add in my copy of Quests of the Round Table - it's been played numerous times and is missing one shield token that, ultimately, makes no difference to gameplay at all.

- At 150 you'll get my travel copy of Go - nothing fancy here, the stones are plastic and come in green cloth bags, and the board is a roll-up vinyl mat, along with my copy of "Go for Beginners" by master Go player Kaoru Iwamoto.

- Get to 200 and I throw in the Mendocino Games edition of Pirateer.

- At 300 you'll also get Hellas, complete and in great condition; received this in trade so it's been played but you can hardly tell.

**CLOSED**

In Latin, septem means "seven" and septimus means "seventh"; September was in fact the seventh month of the Roman calendar until 153 BC, when the first month changed from Kalendas Martius (1 March) to Kalendas Januarius (1 January).

Okay, enough history, now on to the deal.

I want to get someone something off their wishlist. You could be the lucky person that I randomly choose to be the recipient. Congratulations smoox.
Shipping will be covered too because you'll probably be helping me with the actual buying.

Even if you are not the lucky person, you can still be a lucky person because I'll chose someone else to get their bag back. 55 bag for you clemtiger.

As it is over 1,500 bag then someone can win 50 50 bag for you troybowers.

As it is over 2,000 bag then I'll add a second game winner. Congratulations hskrfn822.

1 = 1 entry
5 = 6 entries

30 September seems like a good draw date.

**CLOSED**

September begins on the same day of the week as December every year, because there are 91 days separating September and December, which is a multiple of seven (the number of days in the week).

Okay, enough history, now on to the deal.

I want to get someone something off their wishlist. You could be the lucky person that I randomly choose to be the recipient. I think there is something wrong with Sol's tool - the winner is yohanleafheart (nice bit of programming there).

Shipping will be covered too because you'll probably be helping me with the actual buying.

Even if you are not the lucky person, you can still be a lucky person because I'll chose someone else to get their bag back. All yours laiernie.

Plus, if you are the not lucky but still lucky person and you have a Patron 10 badge, then you can have double your bid returned.

As this is over 500 bag someone will get their their bid back.

**Get this to 750 bag and someone else can get five times their bid back. Ten times if they have a Patron 10 badge**

1 = 1 entry
5 = 5 entries
***** Maximum entry is FIVE *****

30 September seems like a good draw date.

(And listing another of my almost never played games, to make more room in our apartment. In case my Warhammer: Invasion listing (#41) or Ideology: The War of Ideas listing (#51) were not what you were looking for, then perhaps this is interesting for you!)

Description
Complete & only twice-played* copy of the original 1st Edition of Sid Meier's Civilization: The Boardgame (i.e. version depicted in image to the left).
*both games were cut short due to time constraints

Condition
Game board, Civ tokens, City, Technology and Wonder cards, and city, settler and unit miniatures are all in superb, if not excellent condition except for 1 Caravel (no flag, in bag with dice; see picture #1).

However, the box has some minor damage on one of the long sides (piece of outer layer hanging loose, see picture #2).

Entry Cost
Hoping for a good response, I will go in this case for the following system of awarding entries:
1 = 1 entry
10 = 11 entries (every 10 gets 10% more entries)
100bag = 125 entries (every 100 gets 25% more entries)
Example: 146bag = 146+1*25+4*1=175 entries

Shipping
When getting it ready for the pictures, I remembered how heavy this is - BGG lists it at 7.50 pounds blush - and therefore, unfortunately, I will have to decide that shipping will have to be covered by the lucky winner...
Based on comments/feedback, I have changed my mind and will cover, independent of its final destination, $10 of the total shipping costs for every 50bag collected in this listing, if needed. (currently: $100)

Drawing Winner
I will draw a winner on the weekend of Sept. 25/26, 2010, by using Sol's Awesome Copycat Tool (and thanks again, Sol!).

Happy bidding again, and please post your comments if you have any feedback/questions regarding this listing.

TIPPING CLOSED ON SEPT. 26 AT 20:22 EST
