Welcome everyone to the October 2010 Edition of the Geekgold for Game Lottery, and in this case the first edition with a list dedicated to videogames. Thanks Blott for the amazing Idea and thanks everyone who is with us so far.

This list concern Board Games only.

On the bottom of the post you will find a link to the other lists. Expect some more announcements on this upcoming weeks as I change some stuff on the Tool, and on the subscription threads.

These are the Rules

How to bid for an item?
If you see an item on this geeklist that you're interested in owning:
1. It couldn't be more simple. Just tip that entry 1 and you are entered to win that game.
2. Check the description to see if you are allowed more than one entry on the item.

How to put an item on the lottery?
If you have a game that you're willing to part with for a little geekgold:
1. Post it as an item on the list.
2. Include a full description of the edition that you have and its condition. Be very clear on conditions, marks and box
3. Specify if you will be limited in shipping options. If you ship internationally, if the shipping is on you, and if so how much.
4. Specify when your item will close for entries.
5. You can post Board Games and Board Games related items only
6. The item must be draw before 31st of October 2010
7. For board games, contact me before adding homemade versions of non-Print and Play games.

What to do when the lottery ends?
1. When closed, draw a random name from those that have tipped your entry. If you allowed multiple entries remember to take it in consideration.
2. Contact that person and arrange shipment of the game.
3. Send them the game.
4. Edit your geeklist item on this list with a note saying that "THIS ITEM IS CLOSED!" and to put the avatar of the winner, use the code [ username=name_of_winner] (without the space) for that.
5. When an item is closed I will move it to the bottom of the list. Please don't delete them

How to find the winner?
You can use any fair method you like, like putting the names on a hat and drawing it. But there are two favored methods.

1. First we have the Original Awesome Tool. Created by jeromier. It is very simple to use, but can only deal with one type of bonus (X bonus GG for each Y GG tipped) and limit the amount of tip.

2. Second we have the Copycat Awesome Tool created by yours truly. It can deal with any amount of items drawn on your listing, and any kind of bonus calculation that deals with the tip values only (and a few others). The rolls are trackable for anyone to see, and you can use it anytime to check how many tips and the winning percentage of everyone. It has a few statistics which I'm improving on. The only thing is that for an item to use it, it must be inserted by me, and that takes about 1 or 2 days, usually.

Concerning items that you published yourself

Regarding the current discussion that was held on the Geek forums about unauthorized promotional of items by publisher. After discussing the matter with Aldie, we come to the conclusion that most entries that were done in that regarding into the Games for GeekGold Lotteries were fine and did not violate the guidelines. In any case, I ask you to please contact me before posting any such item. And send me the wording you intend for the entry.

Additional rules and guidelines
When Blott created this list in September 2009, and when I took over in October 2009, neither of us had an idea it would become this big. And with bigger lists comes bigger responsibilities, and sometimes new rules must be put in place to help with the good flowing of the list. The rules on this section are meant to be guidelines to help we have a better environment. Some people did note about them on the banter thread, but I'm suffering with it to as I have to scan the list to check changes that can't be done automatically. So please, try to follow all of it.

1. Don't update more than once a day;
2. Editing for the sake of trying to attract people is bad behavior. Doing it everyday (countdown to draw) is even worst. When an entry is updated I go check it to see if I have to change anything on the tool entry for it, and when there are half the items with updates, that can be a bit difficult;
4.Posting on the Game Forums or on the General Gaming forums and GeekMailing users about the offers your put on the lotteries is considered spam and should not be done. We have a very high profile subscription thread on the GeekBay forums, which should take care of adding visibility. Rare will be the user that wants to take part but doesn't know already about it.

Special notes
Special Note #1: If you are giving an item, there is no guarantee for number of entrants. You must be prepared to give away your game even if you only receive a single geekgold entry. Do not enter a game unless you are prepared for that outcome!!

Special Note #2: If for any reason you are forced to withdraw a game you offered, you must refund all geekgold tipped to your entry.

This is my 2nd time putting something up for GG lottery hehehe...

Item: One, brand new, mini set of Mahjong (the tiles are about half an inch tall) These below, are actual pictures of the set. What you see is what you get - all tiles as in the picture, with 4 L-bars to hold the tiles during game play.

Shipping:
Winner to pay US$5 via Paypal
Free, worldwide - when GG hits 300

Tipping:
1 - 1 entry
5 - 6 entry
50 - 75 entry

Please do not enter after 31 October 2010.

Winner will be chosen by Sol's Copycat Tool.

Bonus: When GG hits 700 I will throw in this die in the pictures below. It's one die, but I've taken two pix to show you all six sides. The words are in chinese and it's basically a "drinking die" - you use it while drinking.

The words are translated (to the best of my ability) as follows:
Red: Drink two cups (he1 liang3 bei1)
Pink: Drink at will (shui2 yi4 he1)
Blue: Get on the table, please! (zhuo1 shang4 qing3)
Green: Everyone drink! (da4 jia1 he1)
Beige: No penalty. (mei2 shi4)
Black: Bottoms up (one cup)! (gan1 yi4 bei1)

Throw in your GG now!!!

CLOSED This is a USED copy of the game. I got this from a friend who was moving overseas and needed to get rid of some extra weight. The box has some shelf damage and doesn't look real pretty (then again I don't know that it ever DID look pretty). Almost all of the pieces are still unpunched. A few have been punched out and put into their plastic holders but other than that this thing is untouched.

I will draw for this item on October 31st 30th using Sol's tool. Someone will get a real treat, the rest of you, just tricks I'm afraid.

BIDDING:

1 = 1 Bid
5 = 6 Bids

SHIPPING:

I will cover the first $10 of any shipping costs unless the following options are met.
At 200 I will ship free to the US.
At 500 I will ship free worldwide.

BONUS:
As an added bonus, I will draw a second name after drawing the winner's name. This person will get all of their donated back. If the second pick is the same as the first I will draw again until a second winner is drawn. IE: YOU CAN NOT WIN THE GAME AND THE SECONDARY REFUND.

Edit: I'll be out of town all day tomorrow so I'm drawing tonight.

Congo-rats!

Thanks you all for playing and as always happy gaming!

THIS IS FOR MINIATURES, NOT THE BASE GAME!

But it seemed like the best way to title it

Cleaning out some of the shelf and I have three extra Dark Elf miniatures new in blister pack. They are:

8511F Dark Rider Command B - newer type that has one model and three different 'arms' to make it a standard, musician, or champion

8512E Dark Elf Sorceress C - This is the model that was Morathi the Hag Sorceress in the mid 90s. I guess she got downgraded to just a Sorceress so they could pimp the new models of her!

8511E Dark Rider Standard - This is the mid 90s style standard bearer, fixed position.

I will pay shipping in the US, and first $10 world wide (which will probably equate to free world-wide for this small a package, just covering my bases)

I'll cover shipping to the US, and the first $10 to the rest of the world.

I know what you're thinking -- this dude was an active participant in the first eight GfGG lotteries and then he fell off the face of the Earth. Well, it was all an elaborate staging for this lottery, in honor of the world of Exalted's Scarlet Empress. She reigned with an absolute hand until the day she mysteriously disappeared, leaving a legacy of ruin. Just like me. Except for the ruin.

So, after living for months under an assumed name (Josiah Stankowitz), I have emerged with a drastically over-fulfilled order from an online retailer with more copies of this game than I could possibly justify owning. I emailed said retailer about their mistake and they told me to pretend it was my birthday and they were happy to participate. In that case, allow me to share their generosity.

Up for bid is:

ITEM + CONDITION:
One, Brand New, In-Shrink Copy of Exalted: War for the Throne

ENTRIES:
1 = 1 Entry
5 = 6 Entries

Winner will be selected with Sol's impressive tool.

SHIPPING:
Free Shipping in the U.S.
I will cover the first $10 of International Shipping

BONUS BALL:
In honor of the five castes of Solar Exalted

If bidding reaches 500 I will immediately pick a winner for a brand new copy of the game. Note, this is basically a bonus ball, and the lottery will not end with its selection. There will still be an overall winner of a brand new copy selected on Oct. 31, regardless of if the bonus mark is achieved earlier.

The same person cannot win both the primary and bonus ball copy.

END DATE:
Halloween Night (Mwa-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha)

EDITS:
10/10/10: Corrected a minor typo.

10/12/10: Modified Bonus, lowering the trigger total and making it an instant bonus ball draw. Also noted selection method.

10/31/10: Will draw winner around 11 p.m. Central, Oct. 31

10/31/10: CLOSED - Winner to be drawn Monday (due to technical difficulties)
