For those of you who are new to the Secret Santa List:

I run this list as a central location to let your Secret Santa know when your (hopefully much appreciated) gift has arrived.

Use this list to record what your Secret Santa sent you and remember to include any comments such as thanks that you want to give your Secret Santa. When you post on this list, you may want to make a note on your profile with a link to your entry so your Secret Santa can easily locate your confirmation of delivery and your reaction. That way your Secret Santa can look to see if you received your gift and you can post any comments you may have about the gift here and you can reply without the identity of your Secret Santa ever having to be released!

Please only make an entry when you actually receive the present! This assists those of us who read the list regularly as recipients are adding their gifts in a chronological order.

In years past this list has been heavily monitored as the gifting season approaches and I am sure the same will hold true this year.

I find it very handy to put a link on your profile page so your Secret Santa knows where you have posted the feedback so s/he doesn't have to sort through 2000 entries to find yours quickly.

To see all previous years' editions of this list and to give the new Secret Santa participants an idea of how this works, look at these links:

"2009 List"

"2008 List"

"2007 List"

"2006 List"

To see Simon Hunt's statistical breakdown of previous years' Secret Santa:

UPDATE New list: Most Popular Secret Santa Games of 2010

Most Popular Secret Santa Games of 2009

Most Popular Secret Santa Games of 2008

Most Popular Secret Santa Games of 2007

Most Popular Secret Santa Games of 2006

IMPORTANT - When you get your gift(s), take the time to "Add Item" to this GeekList rather than place a comment at the bottom of the list. This helps the statisticians out there.

A good example of how to make an entry containing multiple gifts is located at: this entry.

Making an actual entry will also make it easier for your Secret Santa to locate your Item.

I got home from a long tiring day of midterm exams to find a huge, heavy package waiting for me. Wow, was my replacement Secret Santa generous! First out of the box was Lords of Vegas, a game we played last fall at FlatCon and loved. I'm not a big Vegas fan in general, but this game is so cool! Can't wait to play it again.

Wait, that's not all. Next out of the box was

El Grande, another game we love and have long wanted to have in our collection.

And there was yet a third big game in the package,

Le Havre, which we have just recently discovered and really really like a lot (even though it still makes my brain hurt a little with all the decision-making involved)!

Three great games from the top of my wish list. What an awesome Secret Santa! Thank you, Santa, thank you! You have restored my belief in Santa Claus, for sure!

I'm very pleased to be making this entry as my Santa was faithful and tracked down this package to it's very end. His elves were a bit wanting and delayed this, so its tardiness is none of his fault. After waiting a bit, I was happy to see a brown box at my doorstep.

Checking the sender (it was CSI, about 15 minutes up the road! My Santa had local elves. Awesome!), I knew it was my Santa gift. And...

But that wrapping paper, though nice, didn't last very long.

And neither will that shrinkwrap. One trip up the road done. It still will be asked to make several trips to the table. Thanks Ol' Nick for sticking with this even through the delay.

My Secret Santa really came through for me. He pre-ordered my most wanted game and after a few delays it finally made it to my doorstep. AWESOME!

I look forward to exploring the mansions with my friends very soon!

Well I can hardly believe it...but after receiving Defenders of the Realm prior to Christmas (15+ plays already) a new package was at my postal office for pick-up late last week.

I raced it home knowing that I didn't have any game orders outstanding and the words Mil Sims had me very excited. Was this a late anniversary gift?

No.

It was yet another present from the most amazing Secret Santa in the world.

As well as both games being on my Wishlist (which made them awesome enough) the total value of the two is around the A$200 mark.

This is highly generous and I cannot thank my Secret Santa enough.

I felt like I was pretty generous this year with my target but I will need to ramp it up a notch to keep the good karma rolling in 2011. cool

It's Christmas in March, and WOW, what a surprise!

I was a bit blue during the Holidays when my Secret Santa disappeared beyond the Mountains of the Whispering Winds, never to be heard from again. soblue I guess he couldn't get past the Winter Warlock.

My Substitute Secret Sinterklaas pulled out all the stops to make this the best BGGSS ever. May they sing songs of his generosity in ages to come.

I have to hand it to Octavian and his crew of exceptional elves for ensuring that all participants had a good experience. Bravo!

First up was Hansa Teutonica

I really enjoyed playing this at my local game club. I did terribly, but liked the game design. This one will see many plays in the coming months.

Next was High Frontier

and High Frontier Expansion

This has been at the top of my wishlist since I first saw the in-progress pictures of the game board, but I had been hesitant to buy it for myself due to the steep learning curve. It was great to have the components in hand while reading through the rules. I just may be able to grok this one without having to take the Orbital Mechanics 101 summer extension class at the Y.

Last but not least, Tichu

This one has been lurking on the fringes of my wishlist for a couple of years now. I should have picked it up long ago, 'cos it sounds like a blast. I can't wait to play it this weekend.

Thanks, Secret Santa!

I am so sorry to my Secret Santa for not posting this sooner (I really thought I had back in December)....

A package arrived on December 15, and under the tree it went to be opened on Christmas Day... Yes, I amazingly waited until then to open it... and my husband and son made sure it was the last gifts to be open that morning. I unwrapped two gifts...

Thank you Secret Santa for two great gifts...

So my Santa decided to come for Easter, which was a very pleasant surprise.

Santa went way above and beyond.

I saw a large box, but I figured it was mostly packing materials. To my surprise the games kept coming.

Started with S'quarrels: A Game of Absolute Nuts which I'm eager to try out, much the same with Back to the Future: The Card Game. This was followed by Give Me the Brain! and Qwirkle, to which my mom said, that looks like something I would like. Then I saw The Adventurers: The Temple of Chac with the painted figures, which look to add some fun to the game. Gem Dealer continues my collection of Gryphon's bookshelf games taking the total up to 6/11.

Santa also sent Wits & Wagers and Say Anything, which I already own, but will make excellent gifts to others, so this is truly the gift that keeps on giving.

Overall, this was a long process. I had so much fun back in November hunting my targets(also participated in the Dice Tower SS), finding what I thought were great games for them, that the long wait didn't bother me at all. There were times when I was frustrated at the lack of communication, but it was well worth it in the end.

To my super duper generous above a lot secret santa, thank-you very much. I'd love to thank you in person if you'd like to reveal yourself to me, but I do understand if you'd like to remain hidden.

And to add even more to the generosity, Santa sent The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game and a message saying that the first 3 chapter packs will be sent as they come out.

Just WOW. I feel so overly blessed, especially as a College Student who's graduating in two weeks and has no job lined up.

For some reason I never got to put my gift on this list (sorry SS).

Besides Cyclades I got this:

Memoir '44: Operation Overlord and Race for the Galaxy

Thank you very much!
