This is the traditional weekly thrift and bargain finds list.
These lists may start empty but as always: add your items.
Put in what you consider a bargain, tell us how much you paid and the place you got it from. Bargains can be thrift store finds or any second-hand purchases or discounted boardgames bought new. Don't forget to add your encounters with the Thrift Store Irritant Squad™ and any other embellishments in order to make it even more interesting.
The Weekly Thrift List Wayback Machine The Grand Vizier is maintaining a list of all the weekly thrift lists through time, and will be adding stats and interesting tidbits for each week. http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/48522

Would I like to have a 1982 space-themed abstract game with clear acrylic pieces, from a small but earnest company that has long been out of business, which has a roll-up vinyl map in a tube?!?FOR FREE???!!!
Um, yeah! Many thanks to a wonderful and generous BGGer.
I have a hard time passing up the dino games. I've sworn when my kids are old enough to watch themselves at evenings I'm going to take the paleo classes offered by Denver Musuem. Mile Hi. $1.95 and that is it for Mile Hi Thrift
So I spent a couple of days in Kansas City, and hit a few stores whenever I would see them. However, there wasn't anything I found that was worth trying to ship back home. So this afternoon, I made my prodigal visit to my GW.
Wasn't seeing much but trash, but then I spied a bookshelf game on the bottom, and quickly identified it as this one. I've had a few of these in the past, and they have always gone for trade or purchase pretty quickly, so for $3.23, I picked it up. This one has some dry mold on the board parts I can see so far, so there's going to have to be some work on this one, and a couple of corners are split.
Did my second scan of the shelves and there this was. Either an unthrifted, left behind or missed by fellow thrifters as was an old tag and 1/2 off. ARC $0.99 Ghost is there but missing unknown amount of pawns and instructions as of now.
Been thrifting all over the state today. 6 in the Fox Valley area. Then, after dropping my wife off in Brookfield, WI to take a bus down to O'Hare in Chicago for a conference, stopped at the SA in Waukesha and found this for $1.54. Box opened and cards still factory wrapped.
$2.99 @ GW, almost missed it. The box is beat up, and missing the character pad, one brick tile and just a couple of figures, everything else is there and in great shape. Not interested in playing, just know a lot of people here want parts, so will part it out or trade it off...?
$3.99 @ GW. This was a full day of thrifting with many finds. Had bought this once before new, but returned it as I couldn't justify the full price. Glad I waited now. Almost everything gets thrifted eventually!
I stopped off in North Liberty to trade a game with Pat, and just had to check out a couple of thrift stores in Coralville near I-80 on my way by.
Found nothing worth picking up at the Goodwill, and only found this that I wanted at the consignment store, Stuff, Etc. Being a consignment store, it was a little more expensive, but my daughter loves all things Harry Potter. So, $2.99.
I've now continued on to Washington State, so your games are safe again. (Although I see Pat's been successfully thrifting in Cedar Rapids. Sounds like a stop on the way back East.)
...another copy. This one was marked at $1.98, not discounted. I didn't inventory either in the store, figured I was sure to get a complete copy out of the two. This one was complete all by itself, but had a creased card and one moneybag that was pretty beat up.
When I got to the register, the cashier wondered why they were different prices, so not only did this one get marked down to 99 cents, she took the 25% off on this one too. End price 75 cents, SA.
