WOOHOO! My wife and I have always wanted to play this game, and we've enjoyed 1960: The Making of a President tremendously. We were very happy to see this one come in, along with a copy of Wits & Wagers (which we've needed to get for a while!). Thanks Secret Santa, wherever you are. God bless you, and may you always find that 6-Dev you want in RftG.

After holding my breath for days wondering what was in store, I finally got a notice left in my mailbox the other day that I had a package! Not too unusual this time of year, but I didn't recognize the sender. Could it be my SS? I rushed to the post office yesterday and this is what was waiting for me:

What to do? Was something inside wrapped? I got it home, and opened the package:

Thunderstone! And a nice note from my Santa.

He also included two Japanese games which I don't know anything about, but will be anxious to play:

Asakusa: the game

Nobunaga

Thanks, Santa!

Wow... today a box full of stuff arrives with a set of numbered gifts, with the instruction to open one per day, in numerical order.

Number 1:
Two sets of two dice, one very very small, one very large! Very cool, and funny.

I guess I will comment on this item as I open the others.

Thanks, DT Sneaky Santa!!!

Day 2 was a lovely set of Christmas Train chocolates, and
Day three was Junta

Day 4 is Vegas Showdown!!

Day 5 is Dixit!
This just keeps getting better and better! One more item to go, I don't know if I can make it another day, but thems the rules.

I made it, the last gift was Dixit Quest!
These last interested the whole family, even the non-gamers, so I really looking forward to getting Dixit on the table at the coming festivities.

Thanks one more time, Santa. My first year in the DTSS was a blast, and I have some ideas on how to have some fun with my target next year. I hope you get one of the prizes, and hope it is as surprising and fun as your generous gifts are!

Sorry about the ThreadID: I don't know how this thing works.

After weeks of anxiously waiting for a special delivery, I came home from work to find a package waiting for me. As quickly as I could, I opened it to find Last Night on Earth: The Zombie Game! Awwwwwsome! Somehow, my Secret Santa knew that it was the one I wanted most out of the ten game choices I sent in.

I will now be spending my Christmas holiday learning how to kill the undead.

Thank you, Secret Santa!!

I returned home from a business trip to find not one, but two boxes waiting for me. One game in gold gift wrap from Amazon, and a pair of games from CoolStuff (unwrapped, but I asked a friend to wrap them for me so as not to spoil the surprise).

I'm part of the BGG Secret Santa and the Dice Tower Secret Santa this year, and I'm not sure which gift is from which Santa. But they've both arrived and they're waiting under the tree for eight more days.

I'll change my entry once I open them up on Christmas.

Thanks Secret Santas!

Update: Looks like both my Secret Santas think alike. I opened my presents this morning to find two copies of Thunderstone, two copies of the For the Dwarf Promo one copy of the expansion Wrath of the Elements. Looks like it's going to be a very Thurderstoneful holiday for me.

Thanks Santas. I'm excited to try this game out.

Santa is alive and well and lives in Eugene, OR! I came home from school yesterday to start my two-week Christmas break, only to find a card from the PO in my mailbox stating they had a package waiting for me. I could only hope. My wait in line was rewarded with a HUGE box! I was on my way to a Christmas party with my students and did not want to wait until today to open the box, so I dug in in front of them - several of whom are in my weekly after-school gaming group.

Inside was a one-pound box of See's chocolate truffles and two beautifully wrapped boxes. Opening the boxes revealed Dominion Intrigue AND Dominion Alchemy! It's gonna be a great Christmas break.

Thanks DTSS! You're the BEST!

I received two packages from my SS. He had sent 2 emails taunting me, which were fun.

The first package I opened was for a book I had on my Amazon wishlist. It was neat to get something from there. It shows Santa did some checkin' up on me. It was the Fabled Lands chose your own adventure book, which was pretty cool.

The game I got was Ra. This one puzzled me a bit, since it wasn't on my Amazon wish list, or on my dicetower wish list.

It's the thought that counts, right.

Xmas day, santa also sent $15 amazon credit.

Hey everyone,
I got home late on Thursday night from a business trip (1:30 am, technically Friday morning) and according to my girlfriend who had been home the entire time I was gone, my Secret Santa gift still hadn't arrived. So I get home at an ungodly hour and decide to check my porch just for the heck of it. Sitting there was a USPS box with my name on it addressed from Michigan. I knew immediately that it was from my Secret Santa, but since my girlfriend was already asleep, I decided to wait til the next day (the agony!).

Now, my SS had sent me some hints. Unfortunately I only received Hint #2, but from it I thought he/she would be sending me Tobago (hint was a tortoise walking on sand) Imagine to my surprise when I opened the box to find a game I had been wanting for 2 years now - Memoir '44!!! This is something I wanted more than Tobago or anything else on my list! My Santas (Jim and Annie) even sent me their Christmas card which includes their cats - I love cats (or as I like to call them"buddies")! It was perfect!

Thanks Santas Jim, Annie, Betty Boops, and Fat Peeps!!!

How amazing! Thank you Secret Santa for your generous gifts, including three games that have all been on my wishlist…
Endeavor,Forbidden Island and No Thanks!!

This was my first Secret Santa experience ever, and I'm even more excited by next year's event than I am for this years gifts. I think it's an amazing opportunity to share a smile and good vibes with total strangers, whether near or far.

Your personal, yet mysterious, card was a wonderful touch. Sending Holiday wishes to you and yours, as well as a very sincere thank you…

Best,

This was the first time that my Secret Santa actively taunted me at it was fun and interesting! The package arrived on the day that I happened to be home from work. For some reason, whenever there is a package that arrives at our house my daughter (4 years old) always asks if its for me. We opened the package right away and found some nicely wrapped packages... which got opened after only a few minutes of waiting! I use my wishlist for Christmas, and I need to keep it up to date right? The year I didn't, I got three copies of Wasabi!) Also, my gaming partner was right there with me!

My Secret Santa was kind enought to get two games off my wishlist, My First Carcassonne and Dixit.

He also gave me an opportunity for some bonuses for guessing his location and who he was. I also got two bottles of hot wing sauce from Anchor Bar and some player aids for Memoir '44

Thanks

My Secret Santa has been really good to me this year. They have been sending me clues/puzzles for me (I'm a huge fan of puzzles/clues )

It all started with a Christmas card sent 2 weeks ago on the 12/4

Then this whole week starting Wednesday a clue came in daily. The clues are all related to the games that are on my list.

Wednesday's clue: Pillars of the Earth Builder's Duel "Christmas will be here before you know it. What will Secret Santa send"

Thursday's clue: Cosmic Encounter "Santa's elves are busy at work making sure your present are just ready and right under your tree"

Friday's clue: Arkham Horror "Nothing can scare Santa's elves away from delivering your gift"

Today it was raining hard and I was being a couch potato on a chilly Saturday then I heard the doorbell rang. I checked on the door and found a huge package with my name on it. I immediately opened it and found some goodies in it

Hand made Christmas card:

and 3 wrapped boxes. I couldn't resist and opened the smallest box and found:

An Christmas ornament from Indiana

There are still 2 boxes unopened, though unfortunately due to the rain some of the wrapping has been torn up leaving me to be able to peek at least one of the box. I saw a goldish box with rio grande games logo on it and immediately know what it is!

I'm a huge fan of Dominion, Santa apparently can read my mind since I'm a new user in BGG and haven't posted anything on my profile. Thank you so much Santas I have one box left unwrapped and it will be put under the Christmas tree.

Update 12/26
I opened my other present today and was happy to find:

I always wanted to try it since I'm a huge fan of dominion. I've played it 5 times yesterday already with my brother and cousins who all loved it and can't wait to play some more . Thank you soooooo much Santas!!!!! Will now look into getting the expansions now laugh

Thank you once again Santas for all the creative clues and the misdirection. You two have given me inspiration what to do for next year . Thank you for all your hard work and hope you two have a great holiday season!

Mario

I was starting to get a wee bit worried that I was on the naughty list this year and literally as I was having that thought, up comes the postman with a package. As I approached the door, I began to calm myself as packages had been arriving from relatives all week (for the family and kids) but this time the package had my name on it and a return address that wasn't prefixed with Aunt, Uncle, or Grandma. My smile widened and I rushed inside.

I carefully and delicately ripped open the box to pull out a nicely wrapped present and card. I then saddened just slightly as wrapped presents really belong under the tree so I took a deep breath and decided that patience had paid off so what's another week. The journey to the tree was endless but upon my arrival there was hope. Thanks to the relatives, the tree really did have a lot of presents under it. They looked so perfectly stacked as if a pro FITS player had been carefully positioning each and every arriving gift. I then thought to myself that it would be wrong for me to interfere with this unknown present stacking gamers perfection and that this gift should be opened and opened quickly so that balance could be maintained.

I then took an immediate turn to the couch, which by the way was a much faster journey then the one to the tree. I then gracefully tore open the package to reveal... Race for the Galaxy. Yes! Thank you Secret Santa! Now I have just enough time to figure out how to decipher Race's mind numbing iconography so that I can hopefully bring it to the table over Christmas break.

Thank you and have a Merry Christmas!

Wil

Also, and even more mysteriously, my Secret Santa has told my a second package will be arriving close to Christmas. And he wanted to know my shirt size??

I had a pretty good idea of who my Secret Santa was fairly early on in the contest. Not long after our Santa assignments, he dropped one very good hint Unfortunately, this Christmas season has been one where I have been spending a lot of time out of town, so I wasn't around for a while. Since I had been told that my Santa would soon be placing an order, I had been expecting a package to show up. However, after each trip, nothing. Finally, this past weekend, during a rare weekend home, I went out to the garage to work on my old tractor that I use for plowing snow. Aha, there it was, sitting on top of the woodpile next to the garage entrance. I don't know how long it had been there.

I took it inside and opened the package to find Espana 1936, a game that has long been on my wishlist. My wife had once lived in Burgos, Spain, the seat of Franco's power during the Spanish Civil War, so I have always had an interest in this conflict. This is a game that we are both looking forward to bringing to the table.

Thanks, Lars. This was a wonderful choice!

Have a great holiday season,

Jim

My Secret Santa rocks!

From sending me Christmas cards to teasing me with geekmails, my DTSS made my week.

I will say I tried NOT to open until Christmas but hell, I live alone and may be losing my job soon, so guess what, I broke it open. I do say break, because my SS wrapped this baby in the thickest wrapping paper I've ever seen! Pretty much bulletproof. Inside were two boxes:

The first was noisy so I opened it: Can't Stop

I have been searching the flea markets for this one, so I was stoked to get it!

Inside were two card games: Yetisburg: Titanic Battles in History, Vol. 1
and FATAL

Some great artwork on both decks!

My SS wasn't done yet though, I also received: World of Warcraft: The Adventure Game
There's a lot of game there! AND as my fave of the lot: Battle Line
!

Thanks DTSS, you done good.

Joe

This was my Top 10 Want List I sent to Tom for the Dice Tower Secret Santa:
Quote:

10 Games I'm Interested In:
NUMBER 10!: Power Grid: Factory Manager
NUMBER 9!: Endeavor
NUMBER 8!: War of the Ring
NUMBER 7!: Chicago Express
NUMBER 6!: Goa
NUMBER 5!: Dominant Species
NUMBER 4!: Innovation
NUMBER 3!: 7 Wonders
NUMBER 2!: Dominion: Prosperity
AND FINALLY NUMBER 1!: LeHavre
NUMBER ZERO!: Merchant of Venus

Guess what my Secret Santa got me!!! =)

Well, well, well... I'm surprised I haven't seen this on the GeekList yet (I could have missed it because it is so long), but I'm seriously surprised more people didn't put this on their want list considering all the hype that Eric gives it! Guess it is because it is out of print and so hard to get! (sorry for rubbing it in!)

ANYWAY! So I haven't heard a peep from my Dice Tower Secret Santa and was starting to get worried he/she forgot about me. But here is my little story about the gift.

I'll been sick for nearly the past week with a minor cold my dad gave to me, so I've been sleeping weird hours and not checking the mail. However, the other day I wake up at 7 PM and am about to go out to Whole Foods with my mother. I notice there is a package there, not really knowing what it was, I figured it must be from my Dice Tower Secret Santa!

Well, I shook the box a few times and heard a TON of clunky pieces, so I was curious as to what was inside! Even though my mom was outside waiting for me, I HAD to open it, my curiosity got the best of me!

So I rip open the package and see a game all wrapped up in plastic wrap and can't really make it out, just that it is an old game. I guess I had a guess it was Merchant of Venus but when I finally saw it I gave a small jump for joy!

I couldn't take a look at it since my mom was waiting outside, but for the next 10 minutes or so my mom got a lecture about how I put Merchant of Venus on my want list jokingly not thinking I'd actually get it! And of course how much it is talked about on The Dice Tower (she watches some of the board game reviews, but isn't a board game player herself minus some Ticket to Ride or something).

Thankfully, Eric Summerer has said he will be making a tutorial video on how to play the game due to Cate108 (thanks Cate!) offering $100 to the Jack Vasel auction ( http://boardgamegeek.com/listitem/1489270?commentid=1822533#... ) so I can't wait to see the video and get this game to the table!

Thanks again Secret Santa!

First of all, I'm in TWO Secret Santa things this year, the BGG one and this one. So I'm honestly NOT sure which Secret Santa this is from.... with that said, THANK YOU SANTA!!!

DICE TOWN showed up over the weekend, wrapped in Pittsburgh Steelers wrapping paper (an important clue?).

This looks like it's going to be a lot of fun and I'm glad it was riding on my wish list this year-- I had it down as a "like to have" but you know what, it will probably get played a lot quicker in my family than any of the wargame stuff that I usually foam at the mouth over. So thank you, Santa! DICE TOWN looks like a blast. I am looking to playing this one during the week between Christmas and New Years.

If this wasn't from my Secret Santa from this contest, sorry!

Well, first I received a nice Christmas card in the mail from my Secret Santa. It had a picture of Santa playing hoops on the card, and I had BasketBoss on my wishlist, so I thought "Well Santa's tipped his hand. I know what I'm getting!" A couple days later I got a package in the mail, and was all ready to open it up and find a copy of that game. So I cut the tape, pulled open the lid and...

World Without End was inside?! For a minute I was flabbergasted and couldn't figure out who would send me this game. I was simply baffled. Now, don't get me wrong, I really wanted this game because my family loved The Pillars of the Earth and this looked like a really interesting sequel. But who sent it? As I went through my mind trying to figure it out, I realized that my brother might have sent it to me as a Christmas gift (he often buys me games.) But then I got an e-mail from him saying that my gift would be coming from Boards & Bits, which this one did not!

At this point it was days later, and I started to think "Maybe it was my Dice Tower Secret Santa. But how do I know?? I'll look like an idiot posting some thread in the guild saying 'Hey, I got this game. Did any of you send it to me?'" So, just as I was contemplating sending an e-mail to the organizers of this Secret Santa program to let them know I "might" have received my gift, I get a geekmail myself. It's from

And he basically said "Do you have my Secret Santa gift yet? According to the tracking info you received it days ago, but you haven't posted to the geeklist yet." So, sure enough, it was my Dice Tower Secret Santa's gift. Andy simply threw me off with the deceptive Christmas card...

So, THANK YOU ANDY!!! I'm extremely excited about trying this game out. I'm always looking for games with great components and new unique mechanisms. This one seems to fit both of those criteria, so I'm pretty pumped about it. I've got all the components punched and bagged, and I've read half the rulebook already. Hopefully my first game will be soon!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

I received the game Puerto Rico from my list. Along with it, I got the game Ingenius: Travel Edition. While this had not been on my list, I did not have it, but I have played the full size game before and greatly enjoy it (of course, that could be because my family has struggled to find a way to be able to beat me). I look forward to playing it with someone here soon.

In the package, there was also a note from Santa chiding me for not being a BGG member and for not having a game list on BGG that could be referenced. Therefore, to Santa, I must say, I'm sorry. While I did create a BGG account prior to receiving my gift, I had not (and still have not) found the time to get my lists of games into it. I understand that you were very kind to me in overlooking this bit of naughty behavior this year and I promise that you won't have to do so next year!

Thank you, Santa!

So, I got home this morning after traveling for the weekend, and lo and behold! Upon my stoop, there lay a package! What a happy day, Santa's elves at the USPS have gotten his package to me!

Within the package upon my stoop, there was not one. And not two. No, dear reader, but three whole presents wrapped in a resplendent gold paper! Truly, my Santa is a VERY generous soul.

I can't wait until Christmas to see what I got.

THANK YOU SANTA!

EDIT: Santa ended up getting me Agricola (with custom meeples!), Ubongo, and Aquadukt!

THANK YOU SANTA!
