This is the traditional weekly thrift and bargain finds list.
These lists may start empty but as always: add your items.
Put in what you consider a bargain, tell us how much you paid and the place you got it from. Bargains can be thrift store finds or any second-hand purchases or discounted boardgames bought new. Don't forget to add your encounters with the Thrift Store Irritant Squad™ and any other embellishments in order to make it even more interesting.
The Weekly Thrift List Wayback Machine The Grand Vizier is maintaining a list of all the weekly thrift lists through time, and will be adding stats and interesting tidbits for each week. Your Thrift Store Bargain Finds Through Time

So Half Price Books had a 50% off coupon for last Sunday. I grab the iPhone and do some rooting around.
Cashflow for $50? That would make it $25 but the market is kinda crazy & I'm not sure I want to mess with it (probably a mistake)
I see they have some of the same old games as last time I was here but they dropped Freedom in the Galaxy from $25 to $20. My coupon makes it $10. I ask to inventory and I count 401 chits instead of 400. Close enough (hope hope hope)
I get home and start inventoring and decide to check against the chit pics here on BGG. Find out I have 402 chits. Three belong to John Carter: Warlord of Mars & one is a jet plane, obviously not from Freedom. Therefore I'm short two chits, luckily there are generic counters that I can make replacements.
I convinced my girlfriend to bid on a copy of Swashbuckler on Ebay, hoping it would be my birthday gift from her. Quite happily I found it in the mail yesterday, in ludicrous condition even!
Turns out that she got it for $43. Between pirate theme price inflation and Troll and Toad holiday price inflation, I have very little idea how good a deal this actually was. But I've been after this one for so long, it's a godsend to me.
Now I just need to work up the courage to tear off some 30 year-old shrink wrap.
Took a quick run to Ollies today at lunch. They stocked up on a ton of board games for the holidays. I didn't have much cash, so I passed up a half-dozen other games, but walked out with this for $4. I've actually read it is a decent game, so I'm eager to try it out.
Among some of the games I hope to go back for were a couple of other r&r products like Igor: The Life of the Party for $4 and one GameWright, The Curse of the Ruby Rhino for $5. All In was $4, and I want to go back and get that for the portable dice tower. And of course they had a ton of wooden games for $10 each.
I found a couple of huge games that were wonderfully awkward to tote around the store. The first was the Eric Lindros Stiga brand rod hockey that included Team USA and Team Canada players. the board is in good shape. One of the rods that extend behind the net needs a new spring to allow a smooth pass/shot and there was no puck. For $2.00, I still thought the board was easily fixed and Team Canada and Team USA are worth it. If I can get it fixed by Christmas, I'll be shopping for a set of Bruins. My kid loves Chara.
I also found this along with the hockey. It was complete and in good shape. The box had a piece of duct tape on it, but still it too was pretty nice. I bought it for $5.00 just to give it a whirl some weekend with the friends that don't really do boardgames that I normally play. Found at the City Mission Helping Hand store.
I'd never heard of this before, but the in-laws like Phase 10, so, with the upcoming holidays, maybe I can convince them to play something with more than a standard deck of cards for a change. $1.00 at the Helping Hand store.
I've seen an Ebay seller attempting to sell these as game pieces. Actually they are not too bad, if somewhat largish, and the plastic is a bit too soft on the thin leg bits (as you can see on the Anubis mini.)
Picked this up for $2.99 at VV. Didn't have time to check it till I got home.
Missing 3 of the flag poles and a few of the figures have broken bits...which I can glue back on except not all of them have their bits in the box. AND.... the board has a nice big water damage spot on it....
So as I am looking through the regular game ( a big thank you to whoever decided at value village to start using elastics to keep the boxes shut)the other worker helping to put stuff on shelves stops by...with this. Which stayed even less time on the shelf. Never played, cards in shrink and complete. 1.99
Then as I was standing in line to pay, a middle age woman looks at me and then at my games. Her eyes light up and she tells me brother has that game and she is starting to get the hang of it
