As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you, now remain in my love. You did not choose me, but I chose you, and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit, fruit that will last. -- Jesus Christ
This is the traditional weekly thrift and bargain finds list.
These lists may start empty but as always: add your items.
Put in what you consider a bargain, tell us how much you paid and the place you got it from. Bargains can be thrift store finds or any second-hand purchases or discounted boardgames bought new. Don't forget to add your encounters with the Thrift Store Irritant Squad™ and any other embellishments in order to make it even more interesting.
The Weekly Thrift List Wayback Machine The Grand Vizier is maintaining a list of all the weekly thrift lists through time, and will be adding stats and interesting tidbits for each week. Your Thrift Store Bargain Finds Through Time

I went to the VV, and was mildly horrified to see them trashing a bunch of games and toys. I tried to discern from the employees how often this was done, but I could not get a clear answer. They were all non-English speaking Hispanic (just a fact - not a judgment).
I did eventually find out from a regular customer who I have befriended that they do this about once a week. This customer purchases board games and puzzles for reselling and is in there almost once per day.
The trash bin did not have anything fantastic, but it did have this game, from which I took the big D12 (with permission).
Huge D12, VV, free.
Edit: I also encouraged them to throw away a copy of Battle Masters that contained about 2 figurines and 1 tray, and that's about it.
$1.38 at Marion GW. Some issues with the bottom of the box, but contents unpunched! I thought this one would be a little more in demand, it doesn't look like it. On my trade list. Also picked up a set of waterproof playing cards for $0.88. Never know when those will come in handy!
I was difficult to buy for this Christmas. I told my family I didn't really need anything and gave some examples of some charities to donate to in my honor. Well, no one really listened to me so I got some presents instead. One of them was a gift Certificate to Goodwill. It definately made me laugh...my mom knows me well! I keep forgetting to use it when I am there, but I finally remembered today.
$3.38 at Cedar Rapids GW. Probably overspent, but it was FREE with gift certificate.
Interesting misc lot, including tiles, minis (with mutilated one's), custom components (nicely painted lava tiles !). Castle (don't know yet if it is complet) Taelek Tundra: missing one hunter, one ice tile and scenario Templar: one with a broken spear.
$0.99 at Cedar Rapids Stuff Etc. I picked one up a few weeks back and we played it 3-4 times already with our non-gaming family. It seems to be a big hit! This one will either go to "the site that shall not be named" or as a gift to my family.
