As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you, now remain in my love. You did not choose me, but I chose you, and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit, fruit that will last. -- Jesus Christ
This is the traditional weekly thrift and bargain finds list.
These lists may start empty but as always: add your items.
Put in what you consider a bargain, tell us how much you paid and the place you got it from. Bargains can be thrift store finds or any second-hand purchases or discounted boardgames bought new. Don't forget to add your encounters with the Thrift Store Irritant Squad™ and any other embellishments in order to make it even more interesting.

And yes I have started doing stuff with them. I currently have two Chunky Dice characters built - though I'm not too happy with the printout on the stickers. I'm finding that the printing flakes off (especially the red colour). I'm using non-glossy sticker paper printed with a laser printer (toner based printing).
I'd like to find a nicer solution before spending more time using the dice.
Limited internet access these days. Will still check-in to view mail and log games. Just won't be participating as much in forums for the near future.
Mary came home from a meeting and asked if I wanted to get out for a bit before dinner. I said sure. She drove us three blocks to the GW. I poked around the games for a bit. Then I turned around and glanced at the puzzle section. This was sitting on top. I opened the box and discovered that it was unpunched. So I took it home for $2.99.
Stopped at GW yesterday at lunch. Have a coworker who I have been gradually teaching The Way of the Thrift. He's anxious for me to get enough dice to do two sets of Chunky Fighters - one for each of us.
First up was the Disney edition - dark blue dice. It was $2.99 but he has said he will pay for 1/2 of all the dice I find now.
Then I see this. Box is in absolutely pristine condition, 100% complete, even the nice tile bag. $4.99 isn't a bad deal. I already have this version with the burgundy tiles and the turntable, but no box. This is the "newer" version with the no-glare board. Huh.
Anyway, my co-worker sees it in the pile and says he wants it, he'll buy it - and I can have the box as he is creating a game table and wants to use the turntable as the center of it.
I had to cannibalize my bookshelf edition for the tiles to create my 1000 tile lot before Christmas. The same coworker had given me a set of tiles from a very old edition of Scrabble. They're a magnificent dark color, but just don't look quite right with the set.
This is the first box of regular Scrabble I have seen in nearly two months. It is complete so now I can replace the ones from my set.
And these were only $1.99. Cheapest I've seen Scrabble in for-ev-er!
Edit: passed on a copy of Risk - it was the Roan numeral version and when I turned it over to slit the tape, I found the entire bottom of the box covered in mold.
Today after work I stopped at St. Vincent. They are in the process of moving the toy aisle back where it belongs now that all the Christmas stuff is cleared out.
There, sitting next to the box with no dice from last week was another copy of the Disney version. This one with 5 dark blue dice (that makes 15 dark blue) and just 1.99. This one had two dice cups - first one I've seen that had two in it.
Anyone got any yellow/pink/anything other than blue/red/black for trade?
Picked Monopoly City up just for the building pieces. All but one baggy of buildings were still sealed. Missing the electronic dice thing, but everything else is there, including some bonus Monopoly-style money in shrink wrap from some other game.
I had my eye on this when it was still selling at Target but it disappeared suddenly before I could snag on clearance. Finally it turns up at Savers. $1.99 complete, again cards in great shape. Nice chips in this one too.
And finally, this is always a good one to get. $2.99 Savers, looks like someone tried once and gave up, other than the first 15 cards, all of the cards were in numerical order, and the plastic wrap was still in the box. Complete.
