There's an infinity of wargames with cavalry, and they shouldn't all be here, but this classic American Civil War (nearly-) all-cavalry battle should qualify as suitably equinocentric.
Can be quite fun for kids and families, and the components are excellent. The interesting thing about this game is that the player who comes last is the winner!
I really enjoy the horse race games that I have...so much so, that I am planning to take my family to Saratoga this summer to see an actual horse race for the first time (not a gambler).
Anyway, I recently came across a book called After the Finish Line which tells the story of how some thoroughbred horses, even champions, have ended up in slaughter houses. If you like horses and horse racing games, you should consider checking into what happens to these wonderful creatures after they have finished thier races and maybe consider doing something about it. Many small helpers can do the work of giants.
