Thanks for your kind words! I've always been somewhat interested in photography, but digital cameras got me really interested. The earliest digital cameras were pretty awful, but nowadays the cameras are really great and pretty much whatever you buy, it's up to your skills to get great images.

For the record, here's the first photo I submitted to Geek, almost ten years ago. I believe it says a lot about a) my skills having developed over the years, b) the general quality of Geek images back in 2002:
