Followup: Took it out at a gaming party, explained what a few of the games inside are, nobody gave even the slightest bit of a crap. The components all remain in the shrink.
$3 at Goodwill, all of the cards, etc were still present and still in the shrink. I'm sure it's lame, but hey any extra motivation I can get to burn off the spare tire before my wedding in October could be worth trying.
Picked up what I think was probably the original "cards only" version of the game, which is titled "Zobmodo!! : the outrageous game of bizarre choices." Not seeing a photo of this one on BGG yet, may have to fix that in a bit.
Missing the bag-o-jewels and the score pad.
I actually bought the original Zobmondo with the board directly from the publisher when it first came out, and found the board part of the game to be just pointless, so I wasn't surprised when they came out with a cards-only version. And even less surprised when they finally dropped (or at least made less prevalent) the "Zobmondo" title and just named it "would you rather...?"
Went to a local flea market this morning and unexpectedly found a few games. This one was complete, in very good shape (minor shelf wear). AU$3. My son may like this.
Same flea market, very good condition, tiles still in sealed plastic bags, AU$2. I already have a copy of this, so this will be for trade or used as a gift.
Same seller as Duck, Duck, Bruce, AU$5. Edition with the free river expansion, unpunched and meeples still in sealed bag. Some minor shelf wear. Again, for trade / gift, as I already have a copy.
Yeah a Melbournite getting so e great finds! The Redistribution Plan is a success. BTW, if you head to Phillip Island, let me know if Key to Kingdom is still at the Salvos there.
$1.99 at GW for the edition pictured. Box has some wear, but the cards are in pretty nice shape. My mother and I played several games of this when they visited last week and she really liked it, so this will be for my parents.
Last night was gaming night. My wife nudges my son to me while I'm playing. One of his front teeth fell out last month, and now the other one has gotten loose enough that it is bleeding, and he can't eat his oatmeal chocolate chip cookie.
Apparently it's my daddily dutily to deal with the problem tooth. So, in the midst of various distractions, I gank it, and instruct him to bite down on a tightly wadded up paper towel for a while until the gap stops bleeding.
Cookie is had, night moves on.
. . .
Next morning, I find out my wife has promised my son a bonus gift (on top of any tooth fairy delivery) for getting his second tooth out in time for Xmas pictures. Some song about two front teeth.... My son whispers to me that he wants an Omnitrix, and something else (but it's too late since I've already tuned him out to enjoy my French toast).
So wife leaves me with $20 to go to TRU. I had six $1 bills in my pocket to start with. It's pouring rain outside, and I remember that it's flea market day at our complex. I suggest to my son: "Let's go check out the flea market. You might find a Ben 10 something or other there."
Did I mention it was pouring? I got my son his own umbrella, and wielding my own, we head over to the community building. We wander into a side room where I just saw a couple people walking out with jigsaw puzzles.
My son locks his attention on to a panda. The big floppy one? Nope. He's got better taste. The small GUND panda. New with tag. 50 cents.
I can afford that. I don't have even have to break the $20. I pick it up and give it to him, and turn my attention to the jigsaw table. I hate jigsaw puzzles, but the boxes look so much like game boxes, it's hard to resist looking. Besides, I've been to tons of flea markets, and I never find...
AAAAAAAUUUGGH! AAAAAAGH! AAAAAAAUGH! OH MY F)**&^( G^&! A GRAIL GAME! FOR OVER A DOZEN YEARS I'VE BEEN LOOKING. AAAAAAAAAAUGH! REALLY!Oh, and there's a Clue Museum Caper box over there, who cares... AAAAAAAUUUGH! IS IT COMPLETE? DID SOMEONE VOMIT IN THE BOX? WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS?
A little scuff on the top right of the cover, where plain cardboard is exposed. Cards separated by type and covered with age-worn green rubber band. So some of the cards have a bit of discoloration, but nothing serious. Chits all separately bagged and boxed within the box. Rules and maps pristine. Some sheets used.
Me, deadpan: "Ahem, how much is this game?" Staff: "I dunno... how about a dollar?" Me, brain oozing out of my eyeballs: "Uh, okay. Here's $2. I don't have change, but don't worry about it."
Wandered through the rest of the flea market clutching Gunslinger and and GUND panda in a plastic bag while people gave my son stickers, candy bars and other free stuff. I usually try to stop them, but I was too distracted.
Another 75 cents later, we walked added a cheap telescope and an unopened deck of playing cards to our plastic bag and wandered home. It was only drizzling lightly by then.
Helluva lot better than a TRU jaunt.
The karmic payback, of course, is that having searched for this game for so long, I now no longer really have the time to read and process the rules to enjoy the game. It's on the trade list; try me.

"Men do not quit playing because they grow old; they grow old because they quit playing." - Oliver Wendell Holmes, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court
Originally left behind yesterday. Went by today and it was still there. It's safe now...
When I opened it the pawns were pristine, the dice cups are in good condition with one being slightly crushed at some point, and the dice look original, although not sure if it is supposed to come with 4 or 8 dice (mine has 4). No rules sheet though.
Wow, that's the version I had in the long-ago and far-away. I seem to remember it having 8 dice so that everyone has their set of 2, but I can't be positive.
I'm experiencing pawn envy. I'd use those to replace the more mundane pawns in other games. Nice score.
That's why I thumbed it; the version we played with before my mother game me her childhood copy had these same components, though the box was different.
Star Wars Edition (couldn't find a pic, will have to upload some) - everything there except missing one Mace Windu picture for the flip-up pieces and missing one question mark marker. Otherwise, looks unused.
My almost-8 yr old son insisted on getting this - he's really into Star Wars and is even having a Star Wars birthday next week even though he's never seen any of the movies. I asked if he really wanted to pay $5 for this and he said 'yes'!
I suggested he help do some yardwork instead of paying me back for it so he was outside helping me for a couple of hours sweeping, edging and even mowing a bit...it took longer than usual to get it all done but he was pleased to have earned it himself and now I've got a yard helper in training
It's easiest to find these images if you use the Versions list near the middle of the game listing. But yeah -- there are too few images of this version (I'd love to have a complete scan / picture of all of the character images for this version) -- it would be great if you could take some more!
Thanks HanClinto - that's the one. Funny, I 'checked' the versions list, forgetting there can be multiple pages of versions (I wondered why there weren't more listed)
I am clearing a lot out of my house as we have some work starting next week converting the rear of the house etc. Under pressure from the wife I have been obliged to clear out piles of books particularly (no games)and we made our first trip to our local charity shop this morning.
It was a flying visit (I still had the car engine running outside the shop), but on my dash through to the back store room, I espied a Days of Wonder game winking at me from a pile of jigsaws.
Stop, quick examination, marvel at the price (one pound), check change, buy immediately.
Perfect condition, looks hardly used. What a bargain. Nice end to the week.
It must be tough over there, what with constantly tripping over all those GW games, LotR and Waddington's Escape from Atlantis. Your thrift shops must be a veritable safety hazard from all those Talisman games blocking the fire exits.
Cool game, but of course it needs the expansion unless you're going to mix it in with the regular cards. Okay, doesn't NEED the expansion. Actually plays fine without it. I speak of the Munchkin Expansion Compulsion Syndrome (MECS). You know, the one where you start looking to find out just how big they make card shufflers... Um, not that I would...know...
Found this today, again in great condition.Don't find too many games of this type so was pleased to see it as its been on my radar for some time.£4.50 from car boot sale.
Actually Perudo in a tin. These are very common in British car boot sales. This is my third copy I have in my trade pile.I even left another copy behind.£1
Fisher price edition, compleate apart from the world information map (which does not seem to be a game component any way) £1.00 at a boot sale in Rayliegh.
Looks like this was a good buy as I alreay have a request to play it some time.
I also find garage sales to be very hit or miss. Mostly miss. I can count on one hand the number of real scores I've made at garage sales. I only go to sales that are in my area or on my way to somewhere else.

I've done pretty well at yard sales over the years. I have noticed that patterns do develop...There is often better luck at finding board games in certain streets or areas of town. Church rummage sales are often the best for quantity to choose from in my area. But it took me a few years to get into this "groove".
I also look for several different things besides board games, such as Rubiks style twisting puzzles, and retro video games, so usually, I find something I like.

I have to agree about the church and fundraising rummage sales. Usually with many people donating there will be more to choose from. And the people running the sale have no attachment to any of the items - they just want them sold so the pricing is usually very good.
