www.boiteajeux.net is a free web portal where you can play to your favorite games on a turn by turn basis. All games are available in english and french.
Looks like an update was made recently. Now you can see what effect your move will have before you commit to it. Additional cards have been added (probably ones the programmers didn't have time to get done in the first version).
This plays good at this site.It is turn based not live but most people who start games of this seem to finish them. You can play with open or closed hands.

I tend to like turn based more because if everyone is on the site live you can play "live" anyway, but if my 2 year old son wakes up from his nap I can stop and the game isn't lost.
This site is great if you don't mind slow games. The automation of cards on this interface is really nice. It bothers me though that the board isn't the real agricola board and that everyone's farms are tiny and the cards that have been played are not immediately visable. I gave up trying to see what my opponents were doing because it was taking so much time. The server itself is also slow. I find the pace of these games too slow.
While play-agricola.com's interface is much quirkier, you can play a game in one sitting with some of the best players in the world (at least 4 or 5 have seats at the world championship and more would if their respective countries would get organized - cough USA cough).
This is a grail game for me. I wish that I could find a copy of it here in the US. Hopefully some day it'll find it's way into my collection, as it sounds like a really fun game to play.
Tried playing this here but since games were turn based it took forever as each player would move one of their 3 or 4 tokens and then had to wait until everyone else moved 1 token before it was their turn again. So it could take like 1 month for 1 turn to get done and most of the time someone would just stop playing so most games did not seem to ever get finished.I do not think they have anything on this site that gives you any sort of penalty for not finishing a game. Not sure though as I always tried to finish my games but usually someone else would just stop playing and it would be their turn forever and after about 30-60 days the game would just be gone from the system. So not sure if they got charged for a loss or something. It does send you an e-mail from the site each day if you have games were it is your turn.
