Call of Cthulhu LCG Expansions: Rate Them All

I do not own ANY CoC LCG products at the time this list was created. In fact, I have never even played the game.
My purpose then is to hear from the CoC LCG community and find out what the general consensus is on the numerous expansions before I dive in. I want to know which are best, which are worthwhile, and which are to be avoided.
For the uninitiated like myself, CoC LCG has been released in cycles of Asylum Pack expansions (AP) and the deck building limit for any card is three copies per deck. The Asylum Packs originally had 40 cards--3 x 10 and 1 x 10, but most of these have been updated to contain 60 cards--3 x 20--to fit with this limit.
There are also deluxe expansions which come in a hard box and have 55 unique cards.
Please add your voice and pool your knowledge and experience.

The precursor, but I gather can become part of the current LCG.

The core set. Gotta have this to begin. 7 factions.
I believe it has one copy of each of its 155 unique cards. Deck building limit is 3, so does one need three copies of the core set?

Good advice, but I would wait until the Dreamlands cycle is reprinted in the 60 card format so you'll get 3 of all cards much easier.

I was thinking the same thing!
