This is my fifth WBC. Every convention becomes better than the last. I'm really starting to get the hang of the flow of the convention. Every year I learn something new to make the next con even better.
Here are just a few of the highlights (lowlights) and maybe even lessons learned this year at WBC.

BIGGEST SURPRISE HIT OF WBC 2011.
Yeah, you may think I'm crazy. You may even stop reading this geek list once you see this entry. This game is not really for children. It iss a FANTASTIC gateway Ameritrash "Take that"! game that is a great end of the night drinking game.
1) Play a card. 2) If you land on the same sapce as another player, knock that person back to your original position, switching places. 3) If you land on a station, yell WOO WOOOOO and the name of the station (HOT CHOCOLATE CORNA!) Yes. It is in the rules. 4) There are cards that knock people back, and a meld of 3 cards moves you to the next station (if noone plays a card to block). 5) Noone cancels Santa. 6) If you win, you ring a bell in everyone else's face and hand them Christmas wishes.
Not Twilight Imperium, but an awesome Icebreaker.

BEST WAY TO HURT YOUR NECK AT WBC
This is a trading game where your ship travels by moving a pen on a map blindfolded. Fantastic strategy and bluffing game.

BEST CONVERSATION
I recently had the revelation that WBC is not just about playing games. It is also about having conversations.
I had some amazing talks with fellow convention goers. I had the distinct pleasure of talking with AndyInKuwait for about an hour while eating Chinese food and buying liquor. I just happened to arrive at the Texas Roadhouse the same time one of the "WBC superstars" and one of his friends were about to sit and was invited to their table. We spoke of surgical procedures and Amish strip clubs over our Porterhouses. The buffet is also a nice place to converse; I spoke with UbaRose, Mr. Rose and Sag about forced field trips for kids, hoarders and killer ducks.
I would not have traded any of that time for anything. However, my favorite conversation this year was with Tony Wang. Tony Wang owns a fantastic Chinese restaurant in Lancaster. I spoke with him at length about the restauranet business and life in general. If anyone has that chance next year, go see him. Lunch specials on weekdays before 3. And no, he did NOT hire me.

FAVORITE PUBLISHER OF 2011:
I base this on how many games I bought from them. I am buying primarily solo games at this point, and Victory Point Games has a ton in this genre. It has to be noted they gave away a free copy of Star Borders: Humanity simply because I played in their tournament.
ZMan is always awesome and deserves a mention for an awesome last minute price on Ydagrassil (spelling?)

United States Budd Lake New Jersey
Well I been watchin' while you been coughin, I've been drinking life while you've been nauseous, and so I drink to health while you kill yourself and I got just one thing that I can offer... Go on and save yourself and take it out on me
Absolutely loved this game. He also loved Master Builder, if it wasn't for the @#$%! rules!

BEST ENDING THAT I MISSED:
I tried the "lurk behind everyone strategy" and crashed when I made my big push. I went to get a soda and go to the bathroom. While I was gone, my partner managed to squeak by with a win. Dang, I missed that one.
Best ending? I won a game of The polar Express Game on the very last draw.

MOST MEMORABLE HAND:
My partner played an 8 card straight and wished for a six. I had to play my eight card straight to beat him because of the wish.

Best Game I'm glad I didn't play a tournament round in:
This game is another silly little end of the night game. I heard people were taking a LOT of time in the tournament.

PROTOTYPE I AM MOST LIKELY TO BUY
I think it was called Air Wolf: an air route delivery game. As I mentioned before, I am only interested in solo games at the moment and I think there is a solo variant to this.
Bien Stephenson does have a very unique and cool idea, but I have to admit I probably would not buy it at this point. Max Giamelli and his dad have designed Lords of Baseball, which I will also consider id a solo variant comes out.

GAME I AM MOST JONESING FOR
I played the Barbarian, which I primarily used to wipe out the little green dudes. We lost. I was VERY impressed with this and may "trade up" from Pandemic for this soon.

BEST NEW PODCAST GUYS
Not Just Another Podcast. Not only did Jeff stop by and say hi (AHEM!) he tought both Quarriors and Rune Age to me. I liked both very much.
I must add: Best overall podcast? The Fortress AT podcast is AWESOME. You may hear me snicker during Matt's interview with the Stronghold Games guy. Matt mentioned building a "Tableau."

BEST ALTERNATE ENDING:
I actually suggested my crazy chef character driver her motorcycle into the portal as a character was leaving so I could hand my special item off, automatically closing the portal and sacrificing myself for the win. We still won but in less dramatic fashion.

BEST ALMOST AUTO-BUY
I love the look and the feel of this Tetris game. I was salivating because of my wife's love of Tetris and the lack of two players she is willing to play. However, after Stormseeker75 mentioned it ain't that great with two, my heart sank a little.
