Today is William Shatner's birthday, and I would like to wish him a happy 74th. A year ago today, my friends at BringBackKirk.com (BBK) released the BBK Trailer, featuring Kirk's return (resurrection?) to the Star Trek Universe. It caused a lot of stir and created a lot of fanfare.
Shatner will be a guest at TheFandom.com on Thursday, March 24, at 5pm EST. Here is an opportunity for you to ask questions of the man live. Maybe he will answer some questions about Kirk's return to Star Trek?
Anyway, today should be a fun day, a day as the BBK crew likes to call "Shatmas." (Yes, total cheese!)
So here is the 2005 version of The 12 Days of Shatmas for your singing pleasure! Must be song in your best (worst) Shatner impression voice possible:
On the first day of Shatmas, the great one gave to me: a double fisted punch to my knee.
On the second day of Shatmas, the great one gave to me: two humpback whales, and a double fisted punch to my knee.
On the third day of Shatmas, the great one gave to me: three mirror doubles, two humpback whales, and a double fisted punch to my knee.
On the fourth day of Shatmas, the great one gave to me: four Denny Cranes, three mirror doubles, two humpback whales, and a double fisted punch to my knee.
On the fifth day of Shatmas, the great one gave to me: FIVE DEAD REDSHIRTS four Denny Cranes, three mirror doubles, two humpback whales, and a double fisted punch to my knee.
On the sixth day of Shatmas, the great one gave to me: six pregnant tribbles, FIVE DEAD REDSHIRTS, four Denny Cranes, three mirror doubles, two humpback whales, and a double fisted punch to my knee.
On the seventh day of Shatmas, the great one gave to me: seven totaled cop cars six pregnant tribbles, FIVE DEAD REDSHIRTS, four Denny Cranes, three mirror doubles, two humpback whales, and a double fisted punch to my knee.
On the eighth day of Shatmas, the great one gave to me: eight gorgeous green chicks, seven totaled cop cars six pregnant tribbles, FIVE DEAD REDSHIRTS, four Denny Cranes, three mirror doubles, two humpback whales, and a double fisted punch to my knee.
On the ninth day of Shatmas the great one gave to me: nine phasers firing, eight gorgeous green chicks, seven totaled cop cars six pregnant tribbles, FIVE DEAD REDSHIRTS, four Denny Cranes, mirror doubles, two humpback whales, and a double fisted punch to my knee.
On the tenth day of Shatmas, the great one gave to me: ten flying dropkicks, nine phasers firing, eight gorgeous green chicks, seven totaled cop cars six pregnant tribbles, FIVE DEAD REDSHIRTS, four Denny Cranes, three mirror doubles, two humpback whales, and a double fisted punch to my knee.
On the eleventh day of Shatmas, the great one gave to me: eleven Klingon bastards, ten flying dropkicks, nine phasers firing, eight gorgeous green chicks, seven totaled cop cars six pregnant tribbles, FIVE DEAD REDSHIRTS, four Denny Cranes, three mirror doubles, two humpback whales, and a double fisted punch to my knee.
On the twelfth day of Shatmas, the great one gave to me: twelve hippies dying, eleven Klingon bastards, ten flying dropkicks, nine phasers firing, eight gorgeous green chicks, seven totaled cop cars six pregnant tribbles, FIVE DEAD REDSHIRTS, four Denny Cranes, three mirror doubles, two humpback whales, and a double fisted punch to my knee.
Feel free to add your thoughts or favorite Star Trek games? Once again, Merry Shatmas!

Awesome box cover art. Kirk boy gets caught with his "britches (and shields) down."

Excellent system to play when burnt out from the rule book lawyers of the "Star Fleet Battles" series. FASA did well here.

Ah, yes, great game system that threatened to be a way of life in the 1980’s. Expansion, after expansion set, followed by revised, "new improved," etc., made a fun game into a rule book lawyers delight. I think you need to pass the BAR exam to fully enjoy this one? Still lots of fun though!

Artists never seem to be able to capture Shatner’s magnificence?

Good playing game. Lots of fun. Plus, Kirk looking dapper on the front cover as this artist almost gets it.

William Shatner's version of "Lucy In the Sky With Diamonds," the worst Beatles cover of all time? Maybe he was thinking/hallucinating of this game's board while he sang it? LOL
