This is a list of weird, creepy pictures that somehow got uploaded and approved. I've only got one or two to start with, so I'm counting on the rest of you to add to the list. Let's see what we can find lurking in the basement of BGG...

Why do people take wierd pictures like this and upload them? I mean that gigantic hand reaching out of pure darkness is really strange. The game hardly even features in the picture at all!

This is too reminiscent of those awkward "happy family" pictures on MB games to not be a great parody. They made one mistake though: on MB pics, all family members always sit on the same side of the table. They never face each other.

You're both wrong. I can think of four off the top of my head:
1. The one who is always sitting across the table playing wargames with her hubby.
2. The one in the blue-gray dress with the custom, game-logo embroidered bag.
3. The one who got in a flame war for facetiously calling a little girl ugly.
4. The angry-looking, just-lost-at-Risk one.

I'll field this one: That's no magician--that's Mr. Yang! The inverted lady below him is Madam Yin. Together, they make up that crack team of superspies, the Black N'Whites. Mr. Yang can incapacitate any enemy with one flick of his black diskamobob, while Madam Yin (her husband is presently off somewhere on an Alpine expedition, so there's lots of sexual chemistry between her and Yang) is able to decipher any cryptoquote or obscure message merely by shining her white diskoder beam on it. Both of their devices also function as walkie-talkies and morning after birth control devices.

I remember games with this weird kid and his weird strategies. He'd come up with the most bizarre strategy based on odd logic, and still come out on top. Hoity Toity was one particular game I remembered.

Miss gaming with all you guys.

Agreed. This picture makes the game look really cool. "Layout is as big as your kid!" would be a good subtitle.

I think the cereal bowls are a good idea too, and I'll bet anyone who finds them "creepy" is probably not really geeky enough for this site shake

Easily explained. This is an unfinished game (look at all the unclaimed territory on the right) late at night (notice the glassy eyes). Obviously, they had been playing some kind of RPG (eight sided dice at left, previously noted) which typically takes hours on end. They then wind down the night with a game of TrR. [Yes, I have watched CSI countless times.]

So he's palming his girlfriend's head? I'm just slightly disturbed by this one. It reminds me of the joke:

What's this?
A brain eater.
What's it doing?

It's you. I left out the word "just" because your comment is way too disturbing to warrant "just"
okiedokie wrote:
I wasn't going to mention the suggestive pose she is making in front of "daddy". Maybe she is wanting to play "Go to the Head of the Class"?

The picture looks fine to me, but if I ever come across a "creepiest picture comment" geeklist, this comment by you will be my nomination. You're telling us more about yourself with that comment than the girl. The girl is just a a (very) young teenager lounging on a sofa, watching TV between turns during a game with her dad. Anything beyond that is coming from your imagination, not the picture itself.

Yeesh. I just can't shake from my mind that I saw this posted on BGG, it's freaking me out.

Yeah, why does anyone need this many? Even if these were all $20 at Toys'r'us, then that's about $900 after tax (in the US).

If hasbro would actually sell terrain seperately, people wouldn't need 42 master sets. I only have 2 currently, but most people at HeroscapeHQ.com who are serious about it have 4 or more. To make maps with a lot of height you need quite a few. The guy who bought the 42 sets is a mod at heroscapeHQ.com. I would imagine that a lot are kept in storage, but if you plan on setting up several maps for tournaments and such (one in Texas recently had 26 participants) you could use quite a few of these. In truth, most of you know the signifigance of the number "42" and can imagine how at a 2 for 1 deal when one was buying 20 sets already how it could be tempting just to make it an "even" 42.

"Brazilian version" my FOOT -- this is the "new" version of Twister that was in the toy department of a large hellish American discount chain awhile back where I worked... (*coughwalmartcough*) I would regularly turn this box around while I worked in the game aisle - sure, nobody could buy it that way, but it kept me from being physically ill looking at the horrid leering plasticy faces. Thanks, BGG, for dredging up long-repressed and better forgotten memories of this Cthulhoid horror.

The creepiest thing about some of those pictures is that they were approved by someone, before they entered the database. Frankly, who the hell wants to see pictures of people playing, where the game barely appears?
