There are six types of industries in this game (seven, if you count railroads). To build most industry counters, you'll need Coal (from Coal Mines) and Iron (from Iron Works). Cotton Mills and Factories only make money for you when they sell their goods, either via a randomly-drawn Market tile, or through a player-operated Port. Ships allow you to access markets on the New England map, and must be connected to a Port. And railroads, of course, move all of these goods (either resource cubes or the invisible Cotton/Factory goods) to where they need to go.

Can you tell I'm excited about this game arriving soon? I've only put it on a half-dozen geeklists in the last fortnight!

In this game, players invest in railroads and mines, and the value of each is tied to the success of the others to which it is connected

Similar to Bullfrog goldfield in theme and theme coverage. Quite different in mechanics though.

A more tangential example. "Factories" produce energy, ore, etc. Without some of these resources, nothing gets built. Without energy, a factory doesn't produce.

There's exploration, colonisation, and factories, with purchase and sale of different goods. Activity in one category or good affects the payoffs of another activity.

A game that comprises a microeconomic simulation: factories produce goods for warehousing, which are then shipped to an island. Finding the underserved economic niche is the name of the game.

Players own mines and railroads and both do better when their "partner" does.

[=Silverton][/] has a similar mechanism.

Rails of New England also has players owning businesses that are worth more when they are connected by your own rails.

I think that this qualifies.

Players move goods around with their spaceship, but can also own ports (which pay when ships use them) and factories (that pay when someone purchases the factory goods).

1873 has railway companies and mining companies. Both are share companies with volatile prices on a stock market, both buy "machines" (trains in the one case, mining equipment in the other with a semi-standard rusting schedule) from the same pool, and both profit significantly from each other's operation.

I guess this qualifies. In Caylus you need to get wood, stone and food (and some times clothing) in order to build more powerful buildings, which in turn lead to victory or more resources. All of this in a neat interconnected way.
