Just added a new Secret Santa Poll . Head over to [geekurl=http://boardgamegeek.com/article/7924278#7924278]Week 2 Secret Santa Poll[/geekurl] to see how everyone is faring thus far in this year's event. And of course, add your votes!

ALRIGHT! It is time once again for the annual Secret Santa List, this time the 2011 Edition. For those of you who are new to the list:

I run this list as a central location to let your Secret Santa know when your (hopefully much appreciated) gift has arrived.

Use this list to record what your Secret Santa sent you and remember to include any comments such as thanks that you want to give your Secret Santa. When you post on this list, you may want to make a note on your profile with a link to your entry so your Secret Santa can easily locate your confirmation of delivery and your reaction. That way your Secret Santa can look to see if you received your gift and you can post any comments you may have about the gift here and you can reply without the identity of your Secret Santa ever having to be released!

Please only make an entry when you actually receive the present! This assists those of us who read the list regularly as recipients are adding their gifts in a chronological order. No placeholder entries, please.

In years past this list has been heavily monitored as the gifting season approaches and I am sure the same will hold true this year.

Last year there were 1,437 unique entries spread over 58 pages. I'm curious to see how huge it grows this year. As a tip - if you go looking through the previous years' lists, please be mindful of which year you are actually posting your gift to. There have been multiple occasions of people posting a gift from the current year on the previous year's list. That would likely diminish the chances of your Secret Santa getting around to seeing it...

I find it very handy to put a link on your profile page so your Secret Santa knows where you have posted the feedback so s/he doesn't have to sort through 2000 entries to find yours quickly.

To see all previous years' editions of this list and to give the new Secret Santa participants an idea of how this works, look at these links:

"2010 List"

"2009 List"

"2008 List"

"2007 List"

does a superb job using the data from this list to create his great statistical look at the hottest gifts of the season. This year's version of his list is located at:

Most Popular Secret Santa Games of 2011

Last year: Most Popular Secret Santa Games of 2010

Want some for your stocking? Simon also runs a Secret Santa Sweepstakes which is located at:

This year: 2011 Secret Santa Sweepstakes

Last year: 2010 Secret Santa Sweepstakes

IMPORTANT - When you get your gift(s), take the time to "Add Item" to this GeekList rather than place a comment at the bottom of the list. This helps the statisticians out there.

A good example of how to make an entry containing multiple gifts is located at: this entry.

Making an actual entry will also make it easier for your Secret Santa to locate your Item.

If you would like to taunt your "target" while maintaining your secret identity, you can do so using the Santa logon. Just log yourself off and close any BGG windows (if you don't you take the chance of being discovered if the new username doesn't take) and log on using this info:

Username: santa
Password: password

I hope you have a terrific holiday season and enjoy the list!

Santa's delivery elf woke me up on my wife and my groggy "lazy Saturday" morning sleep-in. I thanked him for the box and tipped him a handful of mini candy canes, and gleefully rushed upstairs.

Since mine has been a Silent Santa, I figured he/she wouldn't mind if I opened the box a bit early (and by "a bit early" I mean "immediately")

Inside was Ares Project, a very cool-looking game that sounds like it could be yet another one of those very-awesome-Z-MAN-game-that-gets-very-little-buzz-and-is-forgotten-after-3-months-because-it's-niche-but-the-core-fanbase-still-loves-the-game sort of games, and that's exactly what I want.

I also received a copy of Battle Line.

Sly Santa! Giving me two gifts? This game always seems to come up in "must have 2p games" but my wife and I just haven't gotten it yet.

So, *ahem* this is the part where I say THANK YOU SO MUCH, SECRET SANTA! Your generosity put a huge smile on my face. Have a happy and blessed holiday!!!

I was just goint to Boardgamecafe on Friday, the 25th of November to play boardgames after being outstation since I'm studying away from home. Imagine the huge surprise I got when the owner of Boardgamecafe pointed to the christmas tree and said that there was something for me =D!!!

I started jumping around in disbelief (I was a naughty target =S... I haven't been coming on to BGG for nearly a week or two weeks since I had a major exam [I'm studying medicine so this was the exam that was a make or break...] so I was just studying and studying and spent any free time on Facebook only)

I am so sorry, dear mysterious Secret Santa. You're an amazing santa to message me and I apologize once more for this.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE PRESENT!!

I still haven't opened it but after comparing sizes of boxes, my friends and I am guessing that the probability is 99.9% that it is Survive =D!! Thank you once more so so so so so much Secret Santa =D!!!!

Initially my Santa had indicated that he was waiting until after Thaksgiving before sending my gift, but after a change of heart I got a geekmail inidicated somthing was on the way. (Excitement Level Growing)

A couple of days ago (Sorry for not listing this earlier, Santa) ,a parcel arrived from Shire games in the UK. ( Excitement Level High)

Peaking into the parcel, I saw it was nicely wrapped and included some sweets from the fine folks at Shire games. I have always managed to keep my Secret Santa present wrapped until Christmas day and am planning to repeat that this year. At least I think I will

That does not stop me from looking at the size and going through my wishlist trying to think what it might be. This one has me confused as based upon size I don't know what it can be. ( Excitment Level Maximum).

Only 30 days to go ...

Oh and Santa has indicated that some "American tat" is on the way. I can't wait ....... ( Excitement level somewhere off the scale)

Thanks Santa, you're the best.

Update 13/12 The second part has arrived

Don't you just love the British postal service. They tried to deliver while I was out, no problems , we are usually out. Unfortunately the driver didn't put the little red card through the door so we obviously had to guess that they has tried to deliver it. Fortunately, Santa thinks of everything and had arranged for tracking and I when I checked I could see that they had attempted delivery. A few phone calls to Parcel Force later and my package was located in a Post Office, not my local one but a random one not too far away.

The next morning we were travelling to visit my parents, four hours drive away, so rather than wait we nipped down in the car when the Post Office opened and picked up the parcel, I couldn't wait so I
opened it in the car as we travelled. This was also the day that some of the strongest winds for years hit Scotland (gusts up to 100mph), as we drove through the wind I looked into the parcel I began to imagine about how my Secret Santa present may save our lives. If we got stranded by fallen trees:

1The packaging peanuts could be packed into a bag and hugged for extra warmth
2The Hershey Kisses would provide welcome calories
3The game, at lest I assume it's a game, would allow us to cope with the boredom as we waited for rescue
4And to top it all off the kaleidoscope would enable me to signal the rescue helicopters

Thankfully the journey passed without incident but I did learn that

d10-1I have an overactive imagination
d10-2I have a really really great Secret Santa

Thanks again Santa, I will update again on Christmas Day when I have opened them

Update 26/12

It is always great to open games on Christmas Day and although having the will power to not open the Secret Santa is hard. You do get that great Christmas feeling.

The taunting of Santa had given me a clue the smaller game so with no surprise we opened Haggis but I thought we had no clue to the second bigger parcel. It turned out we did have a clue as it said on the parcel "This will keep you guessing" and it will it's Code 777.

We have played Haggis twice now and it's a quick but challenging card game. I don't think I have got my head around it yet maybe later ......

Thanks once again Santa, Hope you and your family had a great one too!

Christmas came early at the Darksome household. A package arrived, and try as I might, I could not resist the temptation to tear open the two wrapped presents that I found inside, along with a handwritten note.

Carcassonne was the first. Sad to admit that I did not own and have never played this classic, but thanks to Santa I'll soon remedy that!

The second package was smaller, but had a nice rattle to it. When I peeked inside, here is what I found:

Citadels

Another classic from my wish list, and one I'd almost bought on several occasions. Can't wait to play!

Thank you Secret Santa!

(I almost forgot to mention that Santa also provided me with the Geek Gold for my lovely avatar! Secret Santa, you're the best!)

My gift arrived from the "Estonian branch office" of Santa's division earlier this week and we managed to pick it up in time for friends visiting yesterday evening.

My wonderful Santa provided not just the game Quarriors (Which is probably an even bigger hit with my wife than it is with me, so that was a superb choice) but I also received the expansion for Space Alert, Space Alert: The New Frontier. That gave me an excuse to break out the game and replay it. It was also quite a hit (even if the only item we used from the expansion was the badges) and I'm looking forward to playing more games of it in the future.

Thanks Santa!

Santa seems to be delivering presents earlier this year...at least he did to my house.

Santa's helper (my wife) took these beautifully wrapped presents and hid them to prevent any inadvertent and accidental unwrapping (and here I was, planning to enlist my 18-month old to help me discover what wonders lie beneath the wrapping paper whistle ).

Thanks, Secret Santa!

Wow! Two items at the top of my wish list: Ghost Stories Black Secret and Chicago Express. You're the greatest Secret Santa ever!!!

My package arrived in November, so I've had to wait a full month until I could open my gifts. My secret santa sent me three, and they sat there under the tree taunting me forever.

Finally, yesterday, I was able to open them - and man, I'm impressed.

First package I opened was A Few Acres of Snow, which had been on my wishlist for a long time. I'm really looking forward to trying this.

The second package I opened was Summoner Wars: Master Set. I first saw this game when I went to GenCon, having heard about it before. I picked up the box, looked at it, and set it down - halfheartedly expecting to buy it later. I ended up forgetting about it until after I had left, but thankfully my Secret Santa came through and gave me a copy.

The third package I opened was Batt'l Kha'os. This wasn't on my wishlist, but I think I got it due to some kind of promotion that was being held by Starlit Citadel. At any rate, it's actually kind of neat to get a game that's not on my wishlist.. something that I've never explored before. It looks simple enough, looks like it should be a lot of fun, actually!

So - Santa - thank you, whoever you are, for your very kind gifts this year. I truly hope that your Secret Santa was as good to you as you've been to me, and I also hope your Christmas (and the holidays of every other BGG) were awesome.

Thanks for another year everyone - not only to the generous Santas, but also to the organizers.

Generous, a lot of fun and lightning fast, that is what my Secret Santa is this year!

On top of that he is my first Santa that did some taunting.

These are the two fantastic games I got:

King of Tokyo

and

Campos.

These two rather different games complement each other perfectly. My wife and me are looking forward to play Campos in the evening, while King of Tokyo (allowing up to 6 players) will be great for my weekly regular game group.

And then we will have to wait a little until our son (6yo) will have learned reading well enough to understand those cards. When he discovered that box ("Whoaah! MONSTERS!"), he wanted to play right away, but then he noticed those cards... Well, I guess rather soon we will try it anyway.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH, SANTA!!!

Now I will only need to find out his identity. Even with the clues he gave me, I still feel rather clueless...

There was a slip on my door saying I had a package from amazon. So I started to try and figure out what I ordered from them and came up with nothing. The next day i waited for my package to be redelivered all day. My friend came over and I gave up around 7. I went to restroom and then there was a knock at the door (of course, waited hours and hours and the moment I go to the restroom it arrives), so my buddy answered the door and signed for the package. When I came out the box was sitting there. Pretty heavy and big. I opened it up and found 3 items from my Secret Santa with 3 notes. One telling me to wait till Christmas to open it, so I will.

Thanks Secret Santa!

Unwrapped and found these 3 games. Thanks For these Awesome Games!

So I got my letter from Santa the day before I went on vacation to visit friends and family over Thanksgiving.

And after the subject of "A CHRISTMAS STORM" I was certain that I had a copy of Conflict of Heroes: Storms of Steel waiting for me when I got home. I showed my wife the letter, and she agreed with me.

So we got home, and saw the box, and I instantly realized that this was no box that could contain Storms of Steel, so my wife and I peered into the box and saw THUNDERSTONE: Dragonspire, and she was super excited. A game we could play together.

And then we saw another box. What might that be?

Got back from spending the night at friends for Thanksgiving and saw a box sitting on the porch. I had a guess who it was from but couldn't know for sure unless I opened the shipping box. Luckily there was no gift wrap so I could see what was inside, Belfort and Archaeology: The Card Game plus Chronicle. I was able to read through the rules for all (I think I need a new book to read) we played Belfort Saturday at family's house.

Thanks secret Santa.

Well, the week before Thanksgiving I was called out to Seattle on business. Upon arriving home from the airport my wife and I found a rather large box on the doorstep.

Of course she starts asking what I bought now but to my recollection I hadn't made any purchases recently.

Opening it, I realized it had to be from Santa, but this box was far to big just for Race for the Galaxy. So continuing to dig in the packing peanuts I hit another box.

And what do I find as well?

Call of Cthulhu: The Card Game

Thank you very much Santa, my wife and I are looking forward to playing these!

Given permission to open early, and having received this over the Thanksgiving break, I opened this one up.

Glad to get Underground! I have been eyeing this one for a bit but kept putting off the purchase since I already have the complete "aboveground" set. Took most of the Saturday reading and punching and bagging. Unfortunately, just a bit too much to store it all in the base game box with all the other expansions but still plenty of room to grow! Hoping to get a play in today.

Also as a bonus, received BANG! Wild West Show. Bang! has sat for too long so I am looking forward to this motivating me to get it back on the table.

Thank you Secret Santa and Merry Christmas!

Opened this week, played the first scenario with my girlfriend and we both loved it. Thank you so much - such a generous gift. You have made a beardy old gamer very happy

Any clues as to your identity much appreciated!

Huge festive greetings to you and I hope your Secret Santa is as generous as you have been,

Chris

Thanks Secret Santa!

Received a package Friday containing two wrapped games. Out of respect for the wrapping I held off opening them until Saturday.

My girlfriend is a big Terry Pratchett fan so I immediately got to play this Saturday night. A three player game. Everyone was so intrigued by our first game (realized how important guessing the secret roles is) that we immediately played again. This is a real fun game.

The second game is: Sleuth

I've been looking for a good deduction game to add to my collection. I don't think I can go wrong with this.

Thanks Secret Santa and have a Merry Christmas!

Yesterday my Secret Santa present arrived. I opened the box and unfortunately (or for me, lucky), the games wasn't gift wrapped. So I saw, that the game Talisman (which was on my wishlist) was one of my presents.

But under Talisman was anonther game. It was one game not on my wishlist, it was a game I even not know. It was The Three Musketeers. I have to say, this game looks very good, nice components and one month ago I was in the movie. My girlfriend said: "Oh, I want to play this game, it seems like clue". ^^

But under "The Three Musketeers" was a third game, which I didn't know. It was Soccer Tactics World. Since a long time I want a soccer or football game. I wanted Bloodbowl, but I'm not really a tabletopper. But now I have Soccer Tactics World. I hope it is good and I'm excited to test this little game.

Thank you very very much, Secret Santa. I wish you a Merry Christmas.

While I was in Tennessee, visiting family, Santa came to Columbus!

I have been warned by Santa that this package contains My Little Pony games, but if I wait until Christmas day, the contents will magically change into something from my wishlist.

So. Now we wait...

UPDATE: Well, it is Christmas and Santa's magic worked! Not a whiff of my little pony glitter in the box. Aside from 2 de Mayo, Santa included

Popular Front AND

Summoner Wars: Cloaks Faction Deck!

OH, and there is a $5 gift certificate to coolstuffinc!

I am excited about all of this! Two number 1s and a number 2 off of my wishlist. For my first secret Santa exchange, I must say this was a success on both fronts. Thank you so much Santa.

UPDATE: With a gift certificate from my family for Christmas, I had enough free money to place an order on Cool Stuff Inc. I was able to use the smaller $5 certificate from Santa, so, thanks to Santa, I picked up

Summoner Wars: Hawk's Strike Reinforcement Pack for just $2!

THANKS AGAIN SANTA!

Thank you, Super Silent Secret Santa (TM)!
This arrived on Friday already. It's a great present because it is a game I wasn't sure about and would probably not have bought myself.
The timing was also excellent because my boyfriend and I are going on holiday next week and will have lots of time to play this game!
