Just added a new Secret Santa Poll . Head over to [geekurl=http://boardgamegeek.com/article/7924278#7924278]Week 2 Secret Santa Poll[/geekurl] to see how everyone is faring thus far in this year's event. And of course, add your votes!

ALRIGHT! It is time once again for the annual Secret Santa List, this time the 2011 Edition. For those of you who are new to the list:

I run this list as a central location to let your Secret Santa know when your (hopefully much appreciated) gift has arrived.

Use this list to record what your Secret Santa sent you and remember to include any comments such as thanks that you want to give your Secret Santa. When you post on this list, you may want to make a note on your profile with a link to your entry so your Secret Santa can easily locate your confirmation of delivery and your reaction. That way your Secret Santa can look to see if you received your gift and you can post any comments you may have about the gift here and you can reply without the identity of your Secret Santa ever having to be released!

Please only make an entry when you actually receive the present! This assists those of us who read the list regularly as recipients are adding their gifts in a chronological order. No placeholder entries, please.

In years past this list has been heavily monitored as the gifting season approaches and I am sure the same will hold true this year.

Last year there were 1,437 unique entries spread over 58 pages. I'm curious to see how huge it grows this year. As a tip - if you go looking through the previous years' lists, please be mindful of which year you are actually posting your gift to. There have been multiple occasions of people posting a gift from the current year on the previous year's list. That would likely diminish the chances of your Secret Santa getting around to seeing it...

I find it very handy to put a link on your profile page so your Secret Santa knows where you have posted the feedback so s/he doesn't have to sort through 2000 entries to find yours quickly.

To see all previous years' editions of this list and to give the new Secret Santa participants an idea of how this works, look at these links:

"2010 List"

"2009 List"

"2008 List"

"2007 List"

"2006 List"

does a superb job using the data from this list to create his great statistical look at the hottest gifts of the season. This year's version of his list is located at:

Most Popular Secret Santa Games of 2011

Last year: Most Popular Secret Santa Games of 2010

Want some for your stocking? Simon also runs a Secret Santa Sweepstakes which is located at:

This year: 2011 Secret Santa Sweepstakes

Last year: 2010 Secret Santa Sweepstakes

IMPORTANT - When you get your gift(s), take the time to "Add Item" to this GeekList rather than place a comment at the bottom of the list. This helps the statisticians out there.

A good example of how to make an entry containing multiple gifts is located at: this entry.

Making an actual entry will also make it easier for your Secret Santa to locate your Item.

If you would like to taunt your "target" while maintaining your secret identity, you can do so using the Santa logon. Just log yourself off and close any BGG windows (if you don't you take the chance of being discovered if the new username doesn't take) and log on using this info:

Username: santa
Password: password

I hope you have a terrific holiday season and enjoy the list!

Arrive home from a 12 hour day at work, to find a package from Funagain Games awaiting me. Knowing I didn't have an order in with them, I knew it had to be from my Secret Santa! And since it came from Funagain, I just knew it wouldn't be wrapped, so I could see exactly what it was as soon as I opened it up! No waiting to unwrap this present until Christmas for me!

I rapidly tore into the box, digging through the layer of packing peanuts, to find...a red wrapped box. CURSES! FOILED BY SANTA'S FUNAGAIN ELVES!

So the nicely wrapped red box awaits for me to set up my tree, so it can be placed under it, waiting for Christmas Day, along with the rest of the presents.

Thanks Santa! And curse you, Funagain Elves!!!!

Edit: Well, Christmas Morning has arrived, and I was finally able to tear into my present, and was gifted with a copy of Thunderstone! Excellent choice, Santa! I've played this games several times now with friends, so it's great to have it in my collection finally! Thanks Santa!

How did my awesome Santa know that this was the game I wanted the most? My goal is to collect all of the Kosmos 2 player games and this was one that had hit my cart a time or two but something else always took its spot. After reading the rules, though, I am thoroughly excited to play it!!!!! Also, with only two asylum packs to go before my Call of Cthulhu: The Card Game collection is complete, Santa got me one step closer by including Call of Cthulhu: The Card Game – The Spawn of the Sleeper Asylum pack!!! I didn't even know this one was available in the 60 card format! I like to make a deck out of each asylum pack cycle that reflects the story arc, and with this pack, I now have the first iteration of the main character: Julia Brown. I can finally make a deck built around her, and I can't wait.

THANKS SANTA!! I LOVE MY GIFTS AND HOPE THAT YOU AND YOURS HAVE A GREAT HOLIDAY! I TRULY COULD NOT HAVE RECEIVED BETTER SELECTIONS. THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU!!!

I had a ninja Santa this year. Usually Santa will drop a line and let you know what's up. One was so chatty that it ended up kinda creepy. But this year, nothing.

I started moping around the house. My wife asked why, and I told her that I must have been a bad boy, causing Santa to throw up his hands in disgust. Game night would find my group talking about all the sweet scores, and all I could ask is why was Santa forsaking me.

Tuesday night, I come home from work. In the cold and dark I make my way to the mailboxes. Bill, bill, ad, card, bill, bill, key. Wait, a key? That means that there is a package, usually clothing for the wife. Open it up to find a box, a stuck box. The mail carriers somehow manage to wedge it in pretty tight. About 5 minutes of wiggling finally broke it loose. A quick look shows that it's mine, so no clothing. Now I'm running through the last orders I've made. There are a couple outstanding, so I figured that this was one of those.

And I was wrong - Stealth Santa came through like a champ! In that shipping box was a copy of Isla Dorada. It's one that I have had my eye on for a while, and now that it's in my hands it's even more glorious then I had imagined. Game night is next Monday, and this is the first thing that's going to hit the table. Thank you so much Santa, you're a freakin rock star!

Well brace yourself for an interesting tale.

I had been contacted by both my Secret Santas (International and Australia/New Zealand) about a week and a half ago and they were both lovely and informed me that things were underway.

They had also been in touch with one another...how I am unsure...but that was cool. cool

Anyhoo my Aussie SS sent me a Geekmail earlier this week to let me know that I had missed my gift delivery as I wasn't home. But I did find an Australia Post slip in the mail to pick it up.

I naturally made the connection that my Aussie SS had sent me the mystery package and upon picking it up the next day I was delighted to discover a copy of 'A Few Acres of Snow'.

I promptly went onto the Aussie/NZ Geeklist to post my delight. I am not a wargamer by nature and this is my first real foray into that field but it just sounds so awesome!!!

Anyhoo, today my Aussie SS sent me a Geekmail to apologise for the confusion as this was in fact from my International SS.

So...

Thank You So Much International Secret Santa!

I can't wait to play this...hopefully this weekend as I have been hard at work reading the rules at nights this week.

I hope you have a Merry Christmas and are as happy with your gift(s) as I am with mine.

Please feel free to drop me a Geekmail and let me know who you are if you are happy to do that. I love to Geekbuddy my Secret Santas and my targets.

Oh, and not to forget... I got some cool-looking custom dice as well for another game love of mine, Summoner Wars

Dear SANTA,
hard day at work, today.

Returning back home, I see my wife talking with a guy from an express courier.
"Orderer something?"
"Nope, it's for you."
Me? I have no pending order...
maybe...
just maybe...?
Santa Claus has come to town!

I opened the box, I unwrapped the Game, I played it (ops) and I packed it again to seat it under my Christmas Tree, waiting for the 25th!

Thanks, Santa.

My gift from Secret Santa arrived yesterday. It's ... a box! A largish box. Containing contents, I bet.

Update: Taking a break halfway through opening presents, with one gift from Secret Santa down, and one to go. And the first game is ... Dixit! That fills in a hole in my recent Spiel des Jahres games, and should be great for parties.

... aaaaand game number two turns out to be 7 Wonders! I've been wanting a copy of this for a while now, but have managed to play enough with my friends that it never was my most important purchase. Thanks, Santa!!

As I posted in the main thread, my SS was of the ultra-ninja variety, I have still heard nary a peek from him (or her).

As I also posted the temptation of a big sale by milsims meant that I took a gamble and place a big order, including items off my wishlist.

There were two parcels from milsims waiting for me at the post office today, I ripped them both open, thinking it was my big order split across two boxes, only to realise that one of them was my SS gift (confirmed when I opened the shipping manifest and saw BGG Secret Santa) whistle

So I'm sorry Santa if I was supposed to wait until Christmas day, but I assure you the gift is appreciated and I look forward to playing it with friends this weekend

Woohoo! The Dixit Bunny promo card!

Which happened to come attached to a copy of Dixit Odyssey...

Which was joined by a copy of A Few Acres of Snow!

Fantastic stuff! Two-player goodness for my wife and me, and the newest iteration of one of my favorite party games of all time (I'm fortunate to have semi-annual gaming gatherings that include more people than basic Dixit can actually handle.)

I've already thanked my Santa in person (thanks to an accidental unmasking partway through the taunts!) but I want to state publicly how much fun I had! He is truly one of BGG's class acts, and every time I see him on this site (which will be often!) I shall think of my time spent with Wendell and Tiberius, two fantastic rival elves, and I shall smile.
(If he wants to publicly out himself, he's welcome to do so, but I'll keep things secret for now.)

Sorry for the delayed response santa. Thank you so much for the awesome gifts. I haven't opened the wrapped present yet but the card has a mysterious code inside in small print in the corner that i couldn't resist typing in google. I'm going to take a completely random guess that the pakage contains
Spoiler (click to reveal)

But rest assured even though i am a curious fellow I didn't read the IM you sent me where you accidentily signed your name while under santa. I can't wait to try out both of these games very soon.

My Secret Santa had told me it'd be here this week and indeed he was right

Each to their own and all that - but for me I can't even IMAGINE opening my parcel before Christmas morning.

So, I got my wife to open the outer parcel whilst I hid in another room so she could check whether the present was wrapped inside or not.

The news was double-good!!!

The present was wrapped and there are TWO!!!

These two will be finding their way under our new Christmas tree that we're getting tomorrow...

Christmas Update: I waited Santa and I was thrilled that I did!!!! Ora & Labora AND Dominion Prosperity - I've made out like a Pirate arrrh

I'll be getting both on the table during the next couple of days.

Thank you VERY much my generous Santa....
I'd therefore VERY much like to thank my Super-Secret-Santa for his great contact emails and for his understanding (he knows what this refers to...)

I just LOVE doing this and the BGG Secret Santa is now a firmly established part of my Christmas routine.

Happy Days eh?????

Well I get home a week ago and this is waiting in my apartment lobby:

Now my 13 year old daughter who competes with me for packages since she uses my ebay account to order stuff and it comes in my name, immediately takes it and holds it up to the window of the apartment door as I am entering from the outside. I can see that it is for me and is a Priority Mail package but do not remember ordering anything. Then I notice the BGG Secret Santa and think "wow, Santa's helpers are on the ball this year!".

Anyway fast forward to a week later and I get a missive from Santa "confirming" I got the package. Well I consider myself someone who can take a hint and not only respond that I got but if he "insists" I will open it!

That is when I find this:

So now I'm panicked because someone was obviously looking at the wrong wishlist and sent me a box full of Transformers!! But it seems WAY too heavy to be just transformers. That is when I open it to find this!!!!!

A $300 Warhammer Quest Game!!! "Cobbled together" as Santa later messaged me! This was probably the one item on my Wishlist that I had not only gave up ever "buying" or getting in "trade" but had gave up getting at all. The Adventure Book has seen better days but I can get that for about $24 on ebay and this was offset by the nicely painted "arches":

All in all the BGG Secret Santa Exchange is the best "Christmas Exchange" I have ever participated in. So I say a very hearty THANK YOU to my Secret Santa; a very big thumbs up to BGG GEEK and a Very Merry Christmas to you all!

Many thanks to my extremely generous Secret Santa for this game, as well as Pandemic and Pandemic: On the Brink. I am also extremely grateful to Santa for his personal handiwork in crafting those games for me.

My Secret Santa has been awesome, taunting me with all sorts of amusing emails, filled with fun and silliness. I've been having a great time. But he didn't say anything about when a package would be arriving, so I was surprised to find a box from Amazon on my doorstep, addressed to me, yesterday afternoon.

My 12 year old son and I quickly opened the box to find that my Secret Santa had sent me not one, but TWO Dominion games! I feel so Prosperous! I've been playing the base set a lot recently and I have been Intruiged with playing a new set, so now I have new hours of fun and excitement in front of me!

I even have my box of plastibands at the ready!

Now, Amazon did "out" my Santa, so I geekmailed him to say hi and check in, and he let me know that I have a little something else on the way as well! My Santa is awesome!

Thank you very much, Santa, for all the fun this year and for the awesome gifts. I'm planning on playing them hopefully as soon as tonight! It's the best thing for a new game, smelling the air of excited gamer geeks, and I'm glad to do my part, lol!

Thank you thank you!

PS I'm changing my microbadges in honor of my Santa and his generosity. Thank you again!

A recent message from Santa let me know that presents were on the way. Today I received a parcel and inside were three wrapped gifts.

I had tried to be helpful, although I am not sure it makes things easier, by putting all games on my wishlist at the same level so as not to put any pressure on my poor santa. This along with the card inside instructing me not to open before the big day means I have absolutely no idea what I have got although I can tell it is a board game, a card game and a no idea what so ever.

Tak Santa. glædelig jul til dig.

My Santa is awesome, today I received both Chaos and it's expansion (that I haven't even listed on my wishlist ), even more I received the new Panic Station that I was dying to play (I just love werewolf/mafia type games).

Thank you so much SS, you are the best. And sorry for the shipping (I know that's really expensive to ship here whistle).

A couple weeks ago, I got the game Granny's House in the mail from my Secret Santa. I was ecstatic. It not only has a similar mechanism as one of my favorite games- Princess- but the two have the potential to expand each other. Wonderful!

Today, I was walking home from a hard day of work-work dreaming of finding my MMP box from their Black Friday sale waiting on my porch. It turned out it was not. Instead, sitting happily next to a pile of shoes was a box from my Secret Santa! It (not sure of the gender of these beings) had alluded that there may be more coming but brushed it off- Granny's House was enough! But here, lo, I am lying on the floor with a copy of Fields of Fire! Super exciting!

did a wonderful introduction video that peaked my interest in this game. It's arrival was especially timely since the world has been handing me solitaire games (currently on pause from working my way through Ambush!- will be an interesting comparison).
Thank you Santa, you have sated the pain of waiting and made an old boy's Christmas dreams come true.

Thank you so much, Santa, for this and Sid Meier's Civilization: The Board Game – Fame and Fortune! I punched them last night, and am going to try to get them on the table this weekend!
