This is the traditional weekly thrift and bargain finds list.
These lists may start empty, but as always, add your items.
Put in what you consider a bargain, tell us how much you paid and the place you got it from. Bargains can be thrift store finds or any second-hand purchases or discounted boardgames bought new. Don't forget to add your encounters with the Thrift Store Irritant Squad and any other embellishments in order to make it even more interesting.
The Thrift Store/Bargain Finds List Wayback Machine: The Grand Vizier is maintaining a list of all the weekly lists through time. He is also adding stats and interesting tidbits for us thrifty geeks. Your Thrift Store Bargain Finds Through Time (with links to all previous lists)
Our GeekGuild: Welcome to The Ancient and Loyal Order of Thrifters. Enter the halls of thriftdom at your own risk. Please do mind the stacks of prized games, do not mention the musty smell and try not to sneeze. Make sure to bow before our King Belial I, and pay your due respects to previous Kings Great_Mazinga, minionhunter, Krazygit, EvilTimmy and Blackwind.

Found this for $3.99 at Savers today. I already have a copy, but I guess maybe I hope to thrift some more copies and have a Battleball tournament.
Also I now know what this outsert everyone talks about is. I have the remains of it minus the clear plastic. At first I was thinking the cover was really beat up and weird looking, until I realized it has two covers. One more rigid real cover and one over that for the outsert. They even threw in the cardboard cutout that was on the plastic.
First up, a 1959 version of Stratego by Jumbo, complete and in very nice condition. Except for the marker someone took to the game board. Looks like it lived for a while in a game lab at a school (according to the note written on the insert in said marker).
Other than that it's really clean. Two dollars, couldn't leave it behind. Just added this edition to the BGG database with a photo.
2009 version of this game. SF and Oakland cards are punched out, along with a few of the markers, everything else is unpunched. Doesn't come with all of the teams, just those two and Denver, Philly, and Green Bay. Complete and shiny for two dollars at the flea.
Yeah, I bought this. Yeah, I used to own it and gave it away to a friend who wanted it. I just found it to be mostly about luck, silliness, and stabbing each other in the back. But I have a group of friends that pretty much only play this game. So I might as well try it again so I can join in one night.
Of course I just got a note from one of them that they bought Illuminati. Is that pretty much the same, or should I expect something different?
Anyways, this says it comes with 168 cards, I have 360 280 in the box. Four dollars at the flea.
Another four dollars at the flea today (man, everyone wanted $4. Well, this guy wanted $5, I talked him down to $4).
Unfortunately it's missing one of the vader/lightsaber die, two of the counters, and one of the standees. Very close to complete, probably playable with a substitute die. Looks interesting, this might actually get me to play a war game. lol.
