Saw this on the shelf and a touch of nostalgia hit me. Realized it was a modern version I didn't recognize, and when I cracked it open, I found out that it had little painted miniatures for the characters and all the metal weapons still in it!

Game was complete, and I'll admit I bought it for the miniatures and pieces, but ended up playing a few rounds with my brother and dad. (Dad stomped us twice).

Still undecided if I want to raid it for pieces or see if I can get a few bucks for it on eBay.

$1.99 @ Savers

I'm the current president of our local theatre guild, I don't actually like performing that much, but I have done a few notable roles, such as Big Jule in Guys and Dolls, Mrs. White in Clue: The Musical (see my avatar) and a menagerie of small parts in Annie. I've directed 3 shows (Wizard of Oz, Sound of Music and Clue: The Musical...I don't recommend starring and directing) served as Set design/construction of 2 others, (Into the Woods, Music Man) and am serving as a Producer of Oklahoma!

I plan on taking a hiatus from Theatre stuff for the next couple years while I work on my Masters. But we'll see, I like being involved.

Wow- you like the hard stuff; singing, acting and dancing can be comparatively easy, but not enough people appreciate the kind of work, recruiting, and organization that go into producing shows, directing shows and making the whole organization tick.

Now my wife is a choreographer and director, and my daughter dabbles in production a bit, but I am pretty strictly a theater geek and performer, and only occasionally a board member.

People like you make my hobby happen- thanks!

I don't...I primarily play on weekends or with family. if we aren't too tired my wife and I will hammer out a round or two of something at night. (lately it's Dominion). Plus I wouldn't really say that I entered this hobby real hard until the last year and a half or so. So Theatre (and writing stand-up...that was never performed) was kind of my main hobby until I started throwing myself into boardgames.

But really, when I list it all out, it sounds like a lot, but I live in a small town and we do one show a year in the Spring, From May to December my involvement consists of calling an organizational meeting about every month, with no real big deal if we miss a month in the summer or whatever.

On stage performing and directing Clue: The Musical left me entirely wasted, I was basically a Zombie for the last week before we opened, totally exacerbated by the fact that we didn't have a real stage at the time and we were performing in a location that required us to haul everything in and out everyday for rehearsal (we were able to leave stuff up on the weekends) but they were very stressful and tiring nights...but when you tell a joke and people laugh or you get a big applause after a song, it's like all the stress melts away. Plus it's always fun telling people that I once played a woman with fishnet stalkings. (the role is written as a man in drag)

The most fun I had was in Annie (Guys and Dolls a close second) In Annie I had no responsibility whatsoever other than being where I was supposed to be and hitting my mark. I played 5 different minor characters(servant, radio ventriloquist, Louis (FDR's assistant), Hoovervillian, and a city person during NYC) and was in a constant flux of changing costumes, very fun. I've been toying around with doing The Mystery of Irma Vep for a while now, which is basically two guys playing 4 characters each in a constant flux of coming off and on stage changing costumes and yelling lines from off-stage...but that is radically different than what we usually do, and I haven't been able to talk anyone into being my counterpart.

In all honesty, the only reason I got on the board was my sister (who was on the board) tricked me into going to a meeting then nominated me to be the Vice-President. I moved away for about 6 months at one point, and when I came back the Guild was falling apart so I took the reins back for another year, then a new presidency was elected, and I was out of the board for a while, during the couple of years I wasn't in the presidency the whole thing went down the pot and was about to go defunct so I took back over because I couldn't stand to see it go away. So the last year I've been trying to build it back up to where I had it, trying to raise enough money from donors to get our current show on stage without floating other people's money. We have a really talented director, and I think the show is going to be great, if I can afford some paint

It's difficult to find people who are willing to take charge and run the organizational side, hundreds will show up for auditions, but trying to get someone to organize a meeting, or be in charge of making sure the business license and non-profit status paperwork gets renewed or do fundraising is like pulling teeth.

Early 1963 (1960?) version - couldn't pass on that! Components are nifty and I like the really different artwork from what I'm used to seeing.

Looks complete but well worn, especially the box which has a ton of white masking tape on the corners of it (and hanging off of it)

Don't really have much to say about Clue...I loved it when I was younger, but it's just gotten a little raggedy and not as fun. It has inspired me to find other mystery-solving board games, and I'm looking forward to trying those out.

I took a game over to a friend's to play and couldn't find the instructions. I knew I had them. Turns out the boyfriend took them out to read them and didn't put them back. This may be a very common scenario.

I can't tell you how many times I've taken the rules out to peruse and then take the game sans rules to game night and nobody else knows how to play, and of course I'm terrible at explaining rules...

There for when you get board playing the game. Then you can start killing off all the pawns in interesting ways. A few months ago, I pulled Clue out with my two year old daughter and we took turns knocking over the pawns with the different weapons--one of my more memorable Clue experiences.

I lost the horseshoe from my copy of Clue: Master Detective. For a while, I "borrowed" a somewhat hoop-shaped earring from my sister, but not long after that; I--and the two people I usually played the game with--just referred to the horseshoe as "invisible".
