Okay, so you take out this deck of about 40 cards and put your left foot on red. Now you make some piles, while placing your right hand on blue. Then you add some Omen cards to some of the cards you set aside so as to not be made into piles and left hand on the purple spot in between the razor blades. Now, shuffle those set-asides with the Omens in them, but left foot on plaid. Add the set-asides to the bottom of the other set-asides whilst putting your penis on chartruse. Now, add some of the piles to the deck, give some to the players and remove some from the game while putting your forehead on ROY-G-BIV.

Granted this the deck set up for this one is a little weird and hard to remember, I always have to check the rulebook before I set up the deck.

But it doesn't actually take much time. It's just fiddly.

Edit: I just double checked the header and saw this list is about games that are annoying to set up, not just games that take a long time to set up, as I'd interpreted it in my head. So yep, Pompeii is a fair call.

My main problem is that there should be an extra volcano card. That would be a great help (at least in my version, the Amigo one).

The Mayfair edition comes with two, so you can completely set up the whole deck before you get started on the game.

Condition: New in shrink.
Language: English.
Publisher: Mayfair Games.

SWEETENER:
arrrh100 GeekGoldarrrh

+altname+ 100 GeekGold -altname-

EXTRA SWEETENER:
A STUPID MOOSE KEYCHAIN/BOTTLE OPENER
This item is a promotional keychain/bottle opener. It is made of metal and in the shape of a moose, a shape similar to the moose piece from the Mayfair Games "Elk Fest.". It was issued by Mayfair Games at the 2011 summer cons to advertise "The Bob & Angus Show." If you have not seen an episode of this show, the link below will take you to one of the shows:

http://boardgamegeek.com/video/11541/mayfair-games/the-bob-a...

The reason for the moose-shaped bottle opener was because in the pilot, Bob introduced a "stupid moose" to Angus:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFovW-oN1dU&feature=plcp&cont...

As this was the first show, it is very early in the process; the quality of humor got much better as the writers, Bob and Angus figured out the show.

Language: English printed on the side of the bottle opener.
Condition: New
Sorry but I do not have a picture of the item itself. It can be seen in the Bob & Angus episode "Sheep Rule!" at:

http://www.pulpgamer.com/thebobandangusshow/135381/sheep-rul...

+altname+ Elk Fest keychain/bottle opener -altname-

Shipping: Will ship for free to US; will only ship to the US.

Kremlin is pretty fun, but a lot of mechanics get in the way. I don't think that Capo is going to hit the most fun part of that game... which means there is still good design space to hit in that game.

To me, having that hidden amount of influence on different politicians and allowing someone else to control that politician (thinking they control them) and then revealing you had more influence that you did not disclose earlier to take control when it is important... that is one of the most awesome fun experiences I have had in gaming.

Yes. I did have the president. And when it came time to wave and get the victory point, I let you know I did have the most points on the president. Shock. Dismay. And I win. Awesome.

Nathan won this with 9 people out. I counted up at the end and had only placed 9 people in the entire game - and gotten 7 out.

Since this is based on the cards you draw, I feel it might be a little too luck dependent, but I don't dislike the game.

I'm pretty sure you have about 5 or 6 in the volcano, making 12 or 13 placed in total... But I agree there is a lot of luck to the game. Also, the rules and setup aren't that intuitive and it doesn't often feel that there's much difference between one decision and another, but I still enjoy it quite a bit.

Nothing like chucking people into a volcano for fun on a February day. I really like this one. I like the thought involved in deciding who to save first and how to maximize your moves. DH is less than thrilled, though, when I bring this one out, even though he wins more often than not. He thinks it's "slow."

We enjoy playing this two player. It scales fine by using a different number of 'meeples' (are they still called meeples when they're not people shaped?), but it just means you always know who you're going to throw into the volcano!

Agree. I'd rather play it with more, but I still enjoy this game with two. Between this and Survive: Escape from Atlantis!, which both have a similar take-that factor, I'd definitely choose Pompeii for two.

Labyrinth: The War On Terror is historically inaccurate & politically biased. It's the one popular game that violates BGG's requirements to keep politics out of gen. discussion. And yet it receives special treatment =US-centric views of this site.

The card distribution/how they play out can be horrible with two players. I played it once two player and the other person got all bad cards and I got all the good cards. It was a cakewalk to winning for me. This has been observed by other reviewers.

Honestly, neither this nor Survive are great two player games. However, I'd take Survive over Pompeii.
