I haven't played this one, but I know some people really love it. At just a handful of dice, it certainly belongs on this list!

Small or light weight dice are “wimpy.” Real men use large and heavy dice.

A push-your-luck dice game, where everybody tries to score on their turn, and nobody can affect anybody else.
Lots of dice games on here. Yahtzee has been very inspirational to many people, it seems.

Shortstop -- Jose Reyes ? / Reuben Tejada ?
The first position to be considered is shortstop. Jose Reyes has been an incredible performer for the Mets for his whole career. Alderson has said that he considers the signing of Reyes the number 1 priority of the club going into the off season. Reyes hits for average, has some power, is a stealing threat and can field his position very well. The thing that worries me the most with Reyes is his health. He has missed significant portions of the past three seasons. His one-at-bat last game this year in order to give himself the best shot at winning the NL batting title was also evident of a bit of a lack of heart in my opinion as well (the reason for the game choice).
All that said, both the Mets and I would love to see Reyes back next year. Fans chanting "Jose, please stay!" at Citi in the final game show that the fan base really wants their top player around next year as well. My personal opinion is that Alderson should make a good faith multi-year deal. I would say 80-100 million for 5 years or so. This way, the ball is firmly in Reyes' court. If he can get stupid money from another organization, I have no problem letting him go and seeing another club roll the dice with his health. I don't want to see the Mets give him a lowball offer though and always be wondering what would it have taken to convince him to stay. Good news is that Reuben Tejada is a very strong fielding young shortstop whose bat improved a bit this season. He is no Reyes, but he can play.

I combed over the Goodwill close to my house, and finding nothing was heading out. Then I stopped as my custom dice sense started tingling. I saw this 1979 version of CW peeking out from beneath a pile of stuffed animals. Complete and still has a sticker for $0.79.

From the Description "Cosmic Wimpout is "More than an Experience, It's a game!" In the family of push-your-luck dice games that garners great love, mostly through word-of-mouth marketing. It was a cult-game phenomenon in the Grateful Dead universe. The game flourished with the help of college students and Deadhead fans.
You play by rolling the five Cosmic Wimpout cubes and get points for each 5, 10, or Flash (triplet) that you roll. You can accumulate points towards the winning total by ending your turn or risking it all, because if you roll and don't score, you lose all the points for that turn, and the next player goes. Thus like life, "Sometimes you are in the cosmos, and sometimes you wimp out." After certain results, a player may choose to end his turn, scoring the points he has accumulated. The first player to reach an agreed-upon score wins (300-600 for a short game with scores kept on paper, 1000-1500 more typically on the game boards), and the game can fit into a small dice tube."
