My gaming was very heavily concentrated on the weekend this week, mostly because you do not say "Yeah, I'll get to you later" to 70 degree sunny days in March. Not in upstate NY.
Extended sessions included a terrific after-hours 3 player No Thanks/For Sale/Hearts trio on St. Patrick's Day, complete with a few (OK, many) bottles of really good homebrew. One of the guys plays a lot of traditional card games (hence Hearts), and we may have added another opponent to our otherwise two-player weekly get-togethers; on his way out the door he asked when we're planning on playing again. Score.
So I caved and bought For Sale. It doesn't fit on my shelf, so it's just sort of balanced precariously on the edge in front of my Aldous Huxley books. However, it worked great that night, and it worked the next night when my parents stayed over, so I'm pretty pleased with it. It's one of those games you can just tell will see a lot of play. My wife also joined us for a 4-player game of Paris Connection. She was not a fan of the setup (her exact words were "this is a great reason to play something else"), but she picked it up quickly, as did my mother.

For Sale is the 2008 Gryphon Games edition, in english.
Both items in good condition, with minor wear on the box. English language
I'll take care of the shipping. I ship via UPS, but only within the united states.
For Sale is a very light bidding game played entirely with cards. Some cards represent cash, others represent real estate. At first, you're spending an initial allotment of cash to bid on real estate cards. In the second phase of the game, the real estate cards become a currency with which you use to bid on cards representing large allotments of cash. The most money at the end wins. Quick to learn and plays in about 10 minutes. A good filler, especially with its cute art, but Modern Art fills this role better for my group so this one has to go.
Sweetener: Red November
This is the original Fantasy Flight edition of Red November, in the small box.
Red November is a co-op game about gnomes on a sinking submarine. It's kind of silly but has some interesting mechanics. Its best feature is a "time track" that governs each gnome's turn based on what actions they've previously taken. So if you perform a complex action, you advance on the time track until you pass snother player - then its that players' turn. If they take simple actions, they can probably go again, but if they take complex actions then they might pass another player. It's co-op, so all the gnomes are running around putting out fires and preventing the ship from sinking until they are rescued. In the last few turns, it's possible for a gnome to just abandon the group to die and try to save himself -- in which case the victory conditions are reversed for that gnome after his betrayal. Lots of general hilarity and parody for a somewhat tense co-op.

"For Sale" is a really great game for non-gamers and gamers alike. It's super easy to understand, teach, and play. However, 3-6 players are needed to play the game. I've had this game in my collection for awhile now and really enjoy it (even though I don't typically win at it), but outside of my gaming group, it's just me and my wife. The gaming group has a lot of filler games that we rotate through, so "For Sale" doesn't see a lot of table time. On top of that, games requiring 3 or more players can't be played with it just me and my wife. Imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon a solo variant for the "For Sale" game! It's called "For $olitaire" (by kvenosdel) and it actually works extremely well. I've yet to beat "Jessica" (the imaginary AI player), but that doesn't mean that I'll quite trying. So, if you have "For Sale" sitting around and wish you could play it more, now you can. I highly recommend the solo variant. Have fun!

Episode 155. Top 10 Filler Games
Lots to talk about here... here we go...
Joe Steadman brags about how his wife plays war games with him, and provides us some useful and some "humorous" ways to get our wives into war games. I immediately thought of Twlight Struggle as a good transition from Euro Games to war games, although personally that's about as far as I would go into war gaming at this point, although I have a feeling I will start playing war games some day...
Sam Healey talked about playing Shadows Over Camelot and Say Anything with the church group, and it gives me a good feeling about introducing Shadows to people I know who are not as into gaming since he got a good reception from people he essentially just met who had mixed backgrounds as far as their gaming knowledge and interest.
Ryan Sturm talked about winning the Age of Empires III tourney. Was this his first appearance on the Dice Tower? I think so. Also, I am wondering when How to Play got started and if Ryan did anything in terms of pod/video casting before that.
Interesting that there was a "Grudge Match" between Formula D and Snow Tails after I just discussed that my preference would be Formula D. Snow Tails does sound interesting, but I just don't know if I can get that excited about a dog sled race, and Tom's characterization of the game as unforgiving made me wonder if this is the kind of thing for family game night, whereas Formula D seems like a great candidate to play with the family.
I would talk about Middle-Earth Quest but I am going longer than normal, so I will get back to it later when it's mentioned on an episode with less stuff I am interested in.
This is not the first mention of the "Cult of the New" label being slapped on the Dice Tower, but seems like the beginning of Tom's effort to incorporate discussion of older games from time to time.
The game discussed was Amun-Re, and it sounds quite interseting. I have heard of it before, but something about this review has convinced me I need to give it a look.
Fairy Tale sounds like a fun game. I am not sure you can get it anywhere these days, but I like card drafting and I may pick it up, unless someone thinks something like 7 Wonders does the job better.
I had no idea that Relationship Tightrope might be a decent game. From the name I assummed it was something like Battle of the Sexes which is a terrible trivia game and not fun in any way. I might have to pick up a cheap copy of this.
Another game I haven't tried to get but kind of assummed is OOP is Zendo. This is going on my wishlist, provided it's something that can be obtained for a decent price.
For Sale seems like a game I need to pick up at some point, but I have too many other games I want to get in the near future. Maybe someday...
I am interested in Pitch Car, but after hearing that it is bulky and heavy, I am not as excited about it, as I have limited space to store games and set them up to play. Not sure if I would like a mini variant either as I am a larger person and don't really like small gaming components, such as small cards ("hobbit cards" as one Dice Tower contributor put it) or the tiny counters in Through the Ages.

When I arrived on Saturday, Adam was looking to get a quick game in while he was waiting for another. There were 5 of us, but I honestly don't remember who all was in the game. It was the first play for me, and I think it showed in the final results. It was interesting, and I see how it has become a popular filler.
