One of my tax refund gifts to myself. The completionist in me will eventually pick up as much as I can, but this was the first expansion in my order. Played one scenario; I actually got a kick out of the Commissar Chip, which would be a nice handicap to give my fiance a chance ;-)

Played a few rounds of Memoir'44 Eastern Front and I set up the full campaign for No Retreat! The Russian Front for a solo game but I didn't end up starting it. Maybe today is the day!

Memoir '44 -- played senario 41 in this expansion, with my Russians keeping the Germans from part of Stalingrad and doing a lot of damage in the process (10-6 win; a little lucky in that for a good chunk of the game I was picking up some useful cards and rolling well against the elite German units)
Warriors of God -- first outing of this since I bought it a little while ago; I did very poorly as the French, conceding at the end of turn 5
Piquet -- won 140-93; steady scoring with no spectacular hands this time
Agricola -- 3P game with (as usual) Agricola: Farmers of the Moor; came equal 2nd, IIRC, some way behind the winner (but at least I didn't have any empty spaces this time)

Eastern Front – 2005
In-print
The Eastern Front expansion is devoted to the ferocious battles that pit the Axis and Soviet forces against each other. Also included is a scenario drawn from the Russian-Finnish war, and an Overlord scenario of what turned out to be the largest tank battle in history: Kursk.
This pack is independent from the Terrain Pack and from expansion three - The Winter/Desert board map, which are not required to play the Eastern Front battles. Throughout, we have used the appropriate board (Winter board during Winter scenarios) in the depiction of each scenario, but purely for visual purposes.

As the Fifth Game at Christmas, my Secret Santa gave to me: 72 Russians Chillin'
Bring on the vodka and Kahlúa! Huh? Oh, wrong White Russians... These are the snow-covered guys that dug in against Hitler's Eastern Front and valiantly fought them back during the bitter winter conditions of '41-'45.
I raise a glass in honor of those soldiers and my Secret Santa for sending such a great gift!

Bought this and the Pacific Theater shortly after buying Memoir '44. I think Memoir is a fairly fun and light wargame. Only problem is I fail to understand why I bought these two expansions. I've had them for well over a year and have yet to play them.
I'm sure they are fine expansions...but truth be told, I was fine with the base game for the time being...
