A story expunged from the bible. Noah get's the instructions a bit wrong and builds a tower.
In the game version the aim is to load the bigger and heavier animals first, or risk having your points squashed.

This was the first thing I saw on the shelves at my Value Village during my lunch run today. The tower unit has no batteries in it but also no visible corrosion. All the other bits are ziploc-baggied together. This was an auto-buy so I didn't even begin to inventory the bits in the store. If I can get to testing and counting the next couple of nights I'll post an update.
Everything is in good shape, except that the box top has a strip of packing tape around all 4 sides, apparently just to fix one split corner. At least Value Village didn't additionally tape it shut.
Wahoo!
$6.99.
UPDATE- The tower unit turns on, but the motor doesn't turn and it doesn't do anything further. The contents are mostly complete, I have all the pawns, buildings, Pegasus cards, and scoreboards. Missing one silver key and one flag, and two other flags are broken.

nice!
in january, i arranged for my youth group to start volunteering at a SVDP warehouse. i dont usually go to this thrift store, b/c they didnt carry any boardgames. but in january, while we were volunteering, i discovered some boxes with board games, and found a copy of acquire with wooden tiles. the story is here.
well today, while taking a break from sorting book, i found a couple more boxes of board games.
and i found a copy of dark tower with a very beat up box. the tape on the box was nearly disintegrating in my hands. there is acid damage on the box, but apparently the batteries were removed and the casing cleaned up a bit.
the bits were bagged up and mostly there. a few odds and ends are missing though.
and i also found a copy of ken follett's world without end. i have been looking for a copy for a while. all in all, a nice day spent volunteering.
i got both dark tower and world without end (the novel) for a $10 donation.

Two offenders here: the dragon mini and the little plastic flags.
You get randomly attacked by the dragon and then put the dragon mini on your space, as a reminder of dragon superiority. Then someone else gets randomly attacked and they take it away and put it on their space. Pure dragon fan-service.
Then you have little flags that you put on each quadrant of the map and accidentally snap in half whenever you lean over the board. And of course there is a tiny flag you put on top of the giant, centrally located, tower itself... just in case you have trouble remembering where you parked it.

Another 80's huge game box. The box does need to be that wide and deep to fit the tower but the board doesn't take up much of the rest of the box.

I got this back when I was a kid. I really don't remember why I got rid of this. I remember that it was cool and very fun. Now it's OOP and a little costly to get.

A typical strategy in this game is to get enough money to max out on food to avoid survival problems later in the game. Therefore, at some point each player would buy up to 99 foods to mitigate plague, etc. During this time, the other players sit patiently waiting while the player buying clicks the button 99 times and, of course, they all know what he is doing. Because purchasing is supposed to be secret, my cousin began a feeble attempt at trying to mislead everyone by making the absurd claim : "I'm buying Warriors" as he proceeded to click the button nearly 100 times.
Needless to say, our amusment with this catch phrase led all of us to make this claim EVERY time we bought a lot of food . . .

The box does show some wear but I don't believe the game has been played with in 20 years. I counted all the pieces and they are present and it looks like it was never stored with batteries. It even has the replacement bulb in the box. I did find this at a thrift but where else are you going to find a 30 year old game. People are asking $130.00 and $175.00 for incomplete ones.
It is not perfect but it is an above average copy. Starting Bid: ? BIN: $235.00

Been wanting to develop a digital version of the tower. So having this would help get me motivated to finish it. Need the %s for each of the events that can happen (so need the tower) and need the board to obviously play the game.
Anyone want to help out with a graphic and sound makeover?
Breaking down the Tower
Dark Tower and Smartphones
I would be OK with the game without the tower, or with a non functioning tower, however I would still need the tower to help with testing.
If anyone wants to help with the graphics or sounds feel free to GM me. I'd use the originals, but I'm sure I'd get some sort of C&D from MB.
