I was thrilled to find this at a consignment sale for $4. We don't usually get interesting stuff like this in these parts.

(6 plays in 2005, now 12 total) This is a damned fine game, and I'm going to keep it until I have a better son who'll play it with me. I find that 2 player games don't get played much at games nights, and nobody in my family is interested, but I will persevere trying to get this one played.

Man.....my first thrift find since October(had to look it up). How pathetic!
Light shelf wear to box, cardboard tokens punched, but cards and stands still sealed. Almost like new, $4.50, Care & Share Thrift store. Was this not there yesterday Lisa???

The non-deluxe edition. I liked this. Very clever. But was a bit much for my son at the time in terms of wrapping his head around the strategy. Probably wouldn't be a favorite given the hidden information, but interesting.

$12 from Spud's Emporium at Con of the North.
I found this copy for nearly 50% of its original price brand new in shrink.
Good price for a game so long out of print in this condition. I consider this a bargain if not a steal.

A fun game. Dimitri showed me the importance of keeping your units hidden, as I ran head first into more than one "if your opponent is this guy he dies" special abilities. I suppose I could have read all the text but it just seemed learning by doing was the more fun option with this game. In the end I pinpointed Frodo (my instant-win kill) to a group of two, went after the wrong one, and Frodo slipped by for Dimitri's victory.
I'd like to play it again as it seemed to pack alot of punch for a filler.

Week 4 (Jan.22-28)
Jan.22 - The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game - We played again with different decks (Spirit, Leadership) and won handily. I think we may have played Eleanor's ability wrong, but we probably would've won anyway. I really think this game would be great with player-built decks. I will definitely be picking this up soonish.
Jan.23 - Lord of the Rings: The Confrontation - I'm on a little bit of a Lord of the Rings kick, so we pulled this out. I got this in a math trade a few years ago and had never played it. Andy won as the Dark characters when he got three guys to the Shire. It's a neat little game, but I'm not overly fond of games with a bluffing element. It plays very quickly and I'd like to give it another shot sometime.
Total Games Played = 2
