I ran around the side of the car while dialing 911 on my cell, ripped open the passenger door helped turn my wife towards the door while staring at the back of my son's head.
And then, a serenity came over me. I was no longer Matt, the prepubescent monkey, I was General Matthew, commander of the Universe!
"Hello, 911 emergency. What is your situation?"
"Hi! We are having a baby, RIGHT NOW!"
She then proceeded to waste my time trying to calm me down (she had no idea I was the commander of the Universe) and then took our location:
"Where are you now, sir?"
"I'm almost to Canyon Meadows drive, on Macleod Trail."
"Which way are you headed?"
"Northbound. I can't really hear you. I'm plugging you into my car."
I plugged my phone into the car stereo and cranked the volume as I was having trouble hearing her over the sound of traffic whizzing by, and also so I could have both hands free. I could now hear her perfectly say, "Sir, I can't talk to you on speakerphone. Please take me off Speakerphone."
Sure lady, no problem, whatever's good for you... is this a bad time? Maybe I should call back later...
"Ok."

I have done some theoretical work on Can't Stop, and know the crapping-out probabilities very well, but I win much less often than I should, for reasons having to do with the name. The most fun I can have is to amass a huge gain in a single even if I lose it all by crapping out.

Start time: 9:30pm
End time: 9:45pm
Tim: Scott: 6,8,4 New Eric: 2, 12
Using the variant where you skip over an opponent's marker instead of landing on them, which speeds up the game slightly and helps counter the start player advantage. It also, interestingly, encourages you to keep going, because if you stop just a little ahead of your opponent they are more likely to get to jump over you. It especially changes the way the 2s and 12s play - under the original rules, it's common to grab a 2 or 12 when you can and stop just one space up. But that's really dangerous with the jumping rule, because the next guy can poach the column with just two successful rolls.
Of course, it is obviously completely flawed, because I was totally unable to capture even one column. Feh!

Start time: 11:00am End time: 11:40am (two games)
Tim won both games. Scott and Kelli lost both games. Andy only lost game two, because he was off wandering around somewhere during game one.
Obviously, this time the "jump over" variant made the game so much better.

Wow, I finally found one of these on my own. Savers for $2.99, has all of the pieces but is missing the cool red die.
Of course it won't replace the amazing copy that
J Peach
Canada Saskatoon Saskatchewan
traded to me. That copy is the Canadian bi-lingual edition, and she included extra pieces for eight players as a surprise. Nope, no replacing that one! Sans Arret!
But I've introduced this game to many friends, so this copy may likely go to one of them.

And that's it! Thanks again to everyone I've met and played with, you're all amazing people. Additional thanks for indulging me by speaking English and making the effort to understand my halting Italian (as applicable).

Can't Stop may succeed where Yahtzee failed (unless the dice were the problem). Very easy to understand, and you don't have to write anything down.

Dice do really hate me in this game, but they love my daughter and my wife, this is really a great game to play when you just feel like playing a simple push your luck style game and the new edition of this nails that retro look very well.

In all seriousness, I think this game is great for teaching number skills. My son's gotten to the point that, on his own, he'll roll the four dice, pair them off AND state the totals of each pair. Very simple to learn, educational, AND he wins more often than I care to admit.
(For curious folks, I linked to a Session Report in the 'Comments' section.)

There are no red pieces—they'd camouflage with the board—but the new Gryphon Games version has purple cones.

Can't Stop $3 at yard sale.
Some people see flowers or birds as signs of spring, for me, I know it is spring when I start seeing signs being stapled to telephone poles advertising yard sales. One sign has been up for a couple weeks advertising a flea market at a local church. Finally today, the day of that sale arrived.
My wait for this sale was rewarded... As I make my way around the tables, I see a stack of kids games... With Can't Stop at the bottom...
