This is the number one kids game with 26 plays, mainly played with my three year old, but a few games had the entire family involved. My three year old loves this one.

The last copy of this I thrifted I gave to some friends for their 3 yr old daughter. I got word back that she loved it - in fact she demanded to take the box to bed with her. Her Dad said she was passed out in bed holding the box. That's a pretty good recommendation for this game!

This was our first real success.
Go Away monster is a simple tile drawing game, in which the child reaches into a bag to fill their bedroom's essential item list. Lurking in the bag are monsters cleverly hidden as bedroom item shaped creatures. When a monster is drawn, essentially the player loses a turn, after everyone shouts "GO AWAY MONSTER!" According to the rules, the winner is the first to complete their bedroom.
Its a very simple game, and you can easily bork yourself to keep things competitive (a technique that I only reserve for very challenging or new games she is learning).
The only problem with this game, is that Anaya LOVES monsters (yes I am raising a girl geek). So, we play by Anaya's Variant. We welcome the funny monsters to join our play. If we pull a monster tile, we say COME AND PLAY MONSTER, and then find a fun location for the little guy on our board. When the rooms are all furnished, the player with the MOST monsters wins! Woohoo...house rules ROOL!

My lowest ranked 9 goes to my most played game (helped along by the fact that it plays in 5-10). Playing this one with my daughter since she was 1 and a half.

My wife was working all weekend, so I was solo taking care of our daughter. Which means I got a lot of gaming in--all kids games! We played:
Go Away Monster, many times. This is her favorite. IMHO the best game, perhaps the only game for kids under two. She's now 2.5 and still loves it.
Take the Cake once. She still doesn't quite get this one, but likes to play with the wooden sprinkle bits.
Count Your Chickens! a few times. I thought this would be good and so bought it for her for Christmas, but it's really just counting, there's not really anything fun about it. She usually gets tired midway through, and I don't blame her, it's like I'm forcing her to do the same counting lesson again and again.
A return to adult games next weekend, hopefully I'll give Dominion: Hinterlands another go!

taught our daughter. A sentimental rating of 10 for a kind of silly game, but I can't bring myself to drop it down. There's something really awesome about seeing your kid excited about your favorite hobby.

Well, I'm not altogether surprised. My most played game is my daughter's favorite game. This will probably be the case for the next fifteen years or so.

If you haven't given this game a shot, but you've got somebody four or under who you could play a game with, this is the best one I've found. It's the perfect first step into gaming.
My most played non-kids, non-party game is Quarriors!, with 18 plays. That's a lot of plays considering I got it in November. I got the first expansion for Xmas and am looking forward to busting it out soon.

This game continues to be a huge hit for my daughter, now 2 and a half. She insists on it more than any other game, probably about once a week. Over the past year she has gotten much better at it. A 1.5 year old is really quite different than a 2.5 year old, but at both ages this game works just great. I'd guess that a year from now we will be getting close to retiring it, but it's had a pretty good life span with well over 50 plays.
Aton: A year ago I said:
Quote: I think I will like this one. Sort of like Ra Dice but with bidding instead of dice? I've only gotten a single play so I'm still not sure about it.
I never got another play. For some reason I didn't mention that my wife hated it. It's not worth me keeping a game around if she doesn't like it unless it's so good that I will definitley bust it out when I have more players. So I traded Aton away.
Genji: A year ago I said:
Quote: What an oddball game--great flavor. It's not great with two players, which is the only way I've tried it, but I'd like to give it a shot with more.
Never got that shot either as I traded Genji as well. I liked my one play, but it was sort of a long game, and in the 45 minute range, there are just so many other games that I reach for first.
Ingenious: A year ago I said:
Quote: I think I'll like it. It's ok. I've played it a few more times. It's a fun but fairly light and tactical abstract. When I play abstracts, I want deep, and this just doesn't seem to satisfy. When I want something ligher and faster, I'm usually playing with non-gamers and I'm not reaching for an abstract.

The only new kids game this month, I played this one with my son who's 2 years old (and three months actually...). He thoroughly enjoys picking up the pieces from the bag and putting them in the correct place on the boards (we used all four of them). I even managed to get him to say 'Farðu burt skrímsli' although has no idea what a monster is, let alone being afraid of them!

Still, it was fun to play my first game with my son! (I'm not counting playing with the chess pieces or Jenga bricks).

Also got this for my two year old, and he loved it instantly. The game was a bargain (about $7 at Barnes & Noble with coupon) and he has played it dozens of times. I love games where you draw tiles or dice from a bag, but in this game you actually can feel around to get the piece you want. I would highly recommend this for youngsters.

Go Away Monster! - 17 The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game - 4 Defenders of the Realm - 3 Monkey Madness - 3 Alien Frontiers - 2
Most played is Go Away Monster. My three year old is constantly taking it out and asking me to play.
Best experiance was my two games of Alien Frontiers at FallCon.
My worst experiance this month was Settlers of Catan I managed to build a whooping 1 victory point the entire game, as the robber was on my 6 ore the whole game, and the only roll I seemed to get was 6. Most brutal game of Settlers I ever had.

This is a fantastic first game for a 2+ year old - I think we started my son on this one at 2-1/2. Each player has their own gamboard depicting a bedroom. You draw cardboard items in the shape of either furniture for your bedroom board, or a monster. When you get a monster, you yell, "Go away Monster!" and trhow him in the box. Or if you're like mt son, you'll yell "Come into my bedroom, Monster!"
Teaches kids a simple rule set, taking turns, pattern and tactile recognition, and having fun with games.

Won this in a g4gg lottery and showed it to my daughter (then four, now five), who loved it instantly. I don't expect her to be impressed much longer, but she had great fun already, so I am very satisfied.
The other new game we tried was Loopin' Louie which I got her for her fifth birthday. She asked me to give it away the same evening.
