Gasp, the party game being labeled overrated? Yes, that is correct. I am not a fan. The first half dozen times I played it, I did laugh, but before long I realized that all of the cards can be grouped into a few categories. For the nouns, there are the "my____", historical figures, modern celebrities, references to different people groups or countries, etc. For the adjective cards, there are also only a handful of categories, like disgusting, sexual, stupid, etc. After that half dozen plays, the thought that wen through my mind was "Here's another celebrity card being played on an adjective that is synonymous with sexy. After it will be a reference to a people group that is sexy, followed by my____ being sexy". The game feels repetitious too quickly to have lasting value.

This is the game I tend to have the most fun playing. Whether it's with serious board gamers or family and friends this is a hit with all types. Simple to explain and set up, quick to play and no need for a serious strategy. While I do enjoy deeper strategic games some of the time I'll always say yes to a game of Apples to Apples.
